Carrie Carrollo Love your NYC apartment. You did a good job for the amount of space you have and love how unique and colorful it is. I live in NYC too but in queens and I have more space but tiny for you doesn't mean less and you have shown that. A couple of suggestions, don't give away the acrylic chair. It could be used as a plant stand with a piece of colorful fabric underneath the plant. The tray you don't like, you can diy it with some spray paint and use stencils to create art and hang it on the wall. Love your kitchenette(that is what it is really) because I have one too that small. You should use that retro hamper, it is so cool and I love the tankless toilet. I've never seen that before. Glad you are a girl who likes record players and vinyl records. I kept all my vinyl records from my teen and younger adult years and I love having a record player. Nothing wrong with digital downloads but is nothing like having vinyl just like nothing is like having the feel of a real book in your hands. You mentioned my old neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn and I love it out there. Good luck here in NYC and I wish you well.
Thank You, Thank You, for putting some COLOR in your Apartment! It's so great to see someone who is NOT imitating another All White space with All White furniture and decor. Well Done!
@@CarrieCarrollo you have by far the cutest, most well organized and decorated space I have seen so far. Great job my dear, loved watching your video and you are quite beautiful as well. Much success in all you do.
I like you immediately because you are talking quietly and calmly. Almost every tour video I watch starts off with 'HI GUYS AND WELCOME TO A NEW EPISODE! MAKE SURE TO HIT THAT LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE BUTTON!!' .... I don't like being yelled at.
Something that really stuck out to me in this video was your “positive yet chill” vibe. You mentioned gratitude for several features of your space and that’s refreshing to hear. Subscribed!
my first apt in manhattan built in 1928 had crown molding, the same built in hamper, saloon doors to the kitchen, cork flooring, & beautiful antique wall sconces by the (now) non working fireplace in the living room he didnt wall up & the bathroom vanity. i was so glad the landlord restored & kept the original touches. i loved it all!
Love your design. You can open the hamper to the side and add a laundry bag inside. My moms NYC apartment has the same hamper. You can also use it to store a plunger and toilet brush. I would put the vacuum behind the living room mirror.
YOUR APARTMENT IS SOOOO CUTE! i can tell that you love accents and splashes of color with a dash of quirkiness. the whole time i was watching i was like "oh my gosh thats so cute, she knows what to do with each little space" lol!
I love this space. It's nice seeing something besides all white, silver and glass which I like but when you really enjoy room/apartment tours I know me personally, I enjoy seeing different styles. Great job on decorating
I'm moving from a 3 bedroom house to a 525 sq ft studio condo I bought. I didn't know how I was going to make it work. Your kitchen is somewhat like mine. I was going to take the kitchen wall down to open the place up but after seeing yours I'm going to leave it so I have the wall space. I'm 57 and have alot of stuff I need to part with. It's hard but I'm sure I'll get over it.
Too many storage hacks to fit what you owned in larger space doesn't work,,, take it from one who desperately tried... Minimizing is hard at first,,,, but after just 2 or 3 months you're totally over the emotional hurdle and realizing you thrive more and more every day with a simpler life. After about 1 year you declutter once again,,, this time "for real" just because you want to This is when you look back and find it almost impossible to imagine you lived with all that stuff 😊
Oh, believe me Lynn you'll be so much happier! I sold off a 3,700 sq ft. home, had a huge auction of all the furniture (broke me heart but it was worth it). Now I live in 700 sq ft. aptmnt and I've never felt so FREE in all me days! LOL
barely into the video and im already pleasantly surprised! speaking as an artist myself, thank you for mentioning the artist of the society6 print by your door! i see people reference society6 as the place where they get some of their decor, but its always treated as if society6 is like a target. and they dont remember that it has thousands of individual artist on it. im thankful i can look up that print bc its so cute!
I like how realistic and normal your apartment looks. It doesn't look like something out of a magazine where it resembles everyone else's apartments, but actually looks creative and lived in! I like how you make the most out of your small space.
I love that this has your own unique touches that no one else has in their youtube filmed tours. Like the zebra knobs (and zebras in general LOL) and it feels like a real home that is true to you and not just a Basic Aesthetic Space. Love it though:)
Really cute place. If I could make a suggestion: You can increase the amount of storage in your shoe closet by using tension rods run horizontally between the shelves with the most vertical space between them and hang your heeled shoes on them. Eh, voila!
Absolutely gorgeous! I applaud you for not shying away from using artificial plants, they really make place. You have such flair for decorating. Maybe when you get tired of the living/sleeping areas being where they are, you can swap them and separate the bed by plants? Enjoyed the vid, sending love from Australia 🇦🇺❤️🤗
Hey!!!!What a cute apt., I love it...and that green rug is wonderful...It looks exactly like the one I had in my apt. in 1973. I too love accent walls, but in California, we couldn't paint or put wallpaper so I bought an oriental rug...green...and hung it on the wall. Under it had a Naugahyde sofa and chocolate color carpeting. I just loved that style, but old fashioned now. I'm 72 years old now and wanting to go back to that style. But no one hangs their rugs on the wall anymore. hahahaha. But I just love your little home.
I am so incredibly in love with your space. This is exactly what I picture my living space to look like whenever I move to a big city. Colourful, retro, creative, patterns, abstract accents .... I am so IN LOVE.
Your space is ADORABLE! And four closets??? That's insane and you are so lucky!! WOW! All of your pieces are so thoughtful and really fit the apartment. What a fantastic space!
purberri LoL 😂 exactly we used to used bars of soap back in the “olden days” (70’s , 80’s and prior years) to wash up (baths & showers). Believe it or not we didn’t have shower gel or shower soap! I was surprised she didn’t know what function the soap dishes was for. Lol 😂 Even the hamper, that’s used to put ur dirty laundry until you are ready to go to the laundromat. I would sanitize it and put a plastic /vinyl hamper bag is there to store dirty laundry. Guess I’m showing my age 🤷🏾♀️
It’s a lovely apartment and I think you have great taste. The little personal touches - the doorknobs, etc, really give the apartment individuality. I would happily live there!!
You’ve done a beautiful job with your apartment! The emerald green tones and gold woven throughout the living space is just lovely. (Also genius with the contact paper on countertops)
This is such a beautifully decorated space! I've watched a bunch of apartment tours and I feel like a lot of decoration is just people mimicking cool pictures from pinterest, but you can really tell that the space was accounted for and that you are aware and thoughtful with your design
Seen many NYC apartment tours via Refinery 29 and this is by far the most beautiful apt. ever! Great job! Now ladies and gents, this is how you decorate a studio that looks like 3 different rooms.
I noticed you don't have a TV in your bedroom not a lot of people can live without one, also the clear swivel chair is so quaint and quirky but it blends really well definitely a keeper. Great job on the DIYs!
The bathroom built in hamper is so nostalgic and a great space saver... My very first “1975” efficiency / studio apartment had the same. I missed having a studio apartment with no roommates. Simply room just for me.
Hello, I love the way you put you own PERSONAL touches on your apartment and Decor the bookshelf came out lovely, love the zebra on the bright pink BEAUTIFUL !
I was planning to do a white and tan themed room but you’ve inspired me so much to add color! I love green too and I really love how you styled your apartment. Now I’m searching up green rugs
Ideal studio layout, phenomenal closet space, separate kitchen, and I love what you've done with the place! Someone could live happily in this home for years--plenty of space for one person and a kitty or two. Fellow Illinoisian here checking in in 2020.
Best apartment tour I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing. I adore the color scheme, you have such a fantastic personal style. I love how your personality shines through your video. This is a amazing attempt at a first video. Brilliant job babe! Also I could not believe my eyes when I saw you filming with a Phone. You rock :) xoxo
Wow, I love your space and mostly everything in it. It's so chic, fake plants that don't look fake, little personal coves, high window sills, looks really artsy, love it.
Wow, your room tour was very interesting and well done, compared with even seasoned youtubers! Your apartment seems like quite a find, and I would like to know how more about renting in nyc! Look forward to more videos!
Tough job putting together such a small space and serve all your needs. Very fortunate with all those closets going, (great find). Must say you did a super job with what you had to work with. Wonderful touch of color with your living room rug and book shelf. Overall, very nice & cozy little space you've created with your talent !
Great idea for the kitchen counter tops. It looks crisp and clean, and for 20 bucks you can't beat that. Love the bathroom colors. That dark blue and white is so nice.
Carrie, your apartment is quite lovely and creative! I loved the way you used the marble contact paper! It looks like actual marble! The colors were on point and the place represented you! Very nice! ⭐🎬⭐
This is a great first video! I'm not a huge commentor but wanted to give positive feedback to motivate you to make more videos. As a late 20s early 30s female I struggle to find channels to watch because it seems many lifestyle channels cater to teenagers. Looking forward to more of your content!
This space is EXACTLY what I would want my space to look like down to the green rug I’ve been wanting but was wondering how to style AND the clear swivel chair. I love it!! Great job.
Your apartment is gorgeous.. It's a McMansion compared to my lil tiny studio (which is about 100 sq ft smaller) in da core of the Miniapple. I love seeing all kinds of housing (tiny to actual mansions, all over the world) you did great this being your first vlog (which I'm too old and ugly and not brave enough to ever attempt) I wish you luck in your new vlogging ad/venture ;)
i come back every few months to rewatch this bc its one of my favorite nyc apartment tours and your space has so much personality and just makes me so happy so thanku for uploading thisss
Wow, actually enjoyed that apartment tour. Normally get so bored part through so skip to the next but watched yours whole way through. You didn't ramble on and your voice is very soothing. So thx for the share, love from Aus
The kitchen counters WELL DONE!! I love that you have a designated eating area. Its neccessary. Also love the personal touches. Removable wallpaper is gorgeous. The credenza is my favorite piece I love it. I always have one in all my homes. A bookcase and a vintage mirror. Also absolutely neccessary. Your thought process and attention to detail is so apparent throughout your space. Yet appears effortless and that's the secret.
I clicked on this so fast because your living room area is like twins with mine -- only my rug and sofa are blue and I kept the coffee table wood finish! Our record player stand is diy with like a 70s retro vibe. Cool style, chica!
Your apartment is beautiful. I love your style. Great use of the box bookshelves turned plant holders. I'm also amazed at how good the contact paper looks on your countertops and coffee table. My favorite part in your apartment besides the great lighting from the window is your accent wall. I helped my mom put up wallpaper in the kitchen when I was a teenager but I've never used wallpaper in any of my own spaces. It is now on my list of things to do for next year! Thanks for sharing ☺ Oh, and the green rug is definitely striking! I love green too.
thank you so much! i think wallpaper (or any type of accent wall) really makes a space. for the contact paper, i used a veryyy sharp exato and took my time so all of the edges came out looking clean.
As soon as the video started I knew I'd like it, because you got right to the point (instead of spending too much time on a useless intro). The rest of the video was equally consistent too, you have such a nice apartment! It must have taken a lot of effort to gather some of the pieces you have.
Use the hamper! It is one of my favorite things in my studio apartment. When it’s full, it’s my cue that it’s time to do the laundry. Retro can also mean brilliant!
When I was a young person most large spaces were measured in square yards, think 60s and 70s. At some point in the late 80s flooring manufacturers switched to pricing by square feet rather than sq. yards to make prices "seem" lower and trick people. For some reason everyone went to square feet and the yard has faded into the past (except football and golf). 320 sq. ft. is 35 1/2 sq. yards which is about 30 sq. meters, so using yards would have given a metric person a better idea of just how small this apartment is since yards are closer to meters dimensionally.
I can’t imagine paying anywhere close to 2k or even 1k for rent!! I wonder how people earn their money or what they do so they can eat and have medical care?
I live in NY and have 4 jobs (that I love by the way!) and lucked out on my studio apartment. I know I will move eventually, but I love my neighborhood. Everything is a trade off. I agree that rent prices here are insane, and landlords are pathologically greedy.
Update: the bathroom got a makeover since this video was filmed! Watch it here: th-cam.com/video/_xM8NiAKJfY/w-d-xo.html

guess studio is beautiful and nicely decorated however your shoe closet is really a seasoning closet and pantry for your food just an FYI
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing!! What size is your rug??
Did you get rid of the acrylic /gold chair yet? I'd love to buy it!
They could've at least gave you a standard toilet instead of a public style toilet for the money you're spending.
Thank You, Thank You, for putting some COLOR in your Apartment! It's so great to see someone who is NOT imitating another All White space with All White furniture and decor. Well Done!

Beautiful apartment. One recommendation is to put your shoes in other place.
"drawers are kind of messy" Opens them and they're perfectly organized. lol.
i was waiting to see what you meant & when she opened the drawer, i cackled 😂😂 i wish i was this organized
We love a nice lie 🤭
IKR Im ashamed if that’s what she calls a mess wait til she sees mine lol
Is it actually possible to fall in love with a rug? Be still my heart, the green rug!! Ugh!! 😊
painted daisy I’d get it bigger. It’s so pretty
I want one too!
The only reason I clicked on the video! The RUG! 😍😍😍😍

Cindy A lol you’re good 👌🏾
hellooo real fans know that they only afforded it bc it was under Monica's grandmother's name and rent control kept the price manageable for them

I LOVE this, all of the colors are everything!
One of the best designed studios I've seen not done by a professional!!
You have impeccable taste
such a huge compliment, thank you!
I absolutely love how you designed such a small space and made it your own. All the art pieces are unique.
That's so weird I live in an old pre war apartment building in Berlin, Germany and I have the exact same door buzzer as you 🙃🤣
As soon as the video started I knew I'd like it, because you got right to the point (instead of spending too much time on a useless intro). The rest of the video was equally consistent too, you have such a nice apartment! It must have taken a lot of effort to gather some of the pieces you have.
thank you so much!! some of the pieces i've been saving or collecting for years, so i'm glad they all came together!
I use my built in laundry hamper saves space you should use yours too instead of having that hamper beside the book shelf
i think i'm going to - thank you!
You could even put a garbage bag in it and use it as a garbage? Repurpose it??
Use the hamper! It is one of my favorite things in my studio apartment. When it’s full, it’s my cue that it’s time to do the laundry. Retro can also mean brilliant!
I'm so jealous of that hamper! It broke my heart to hear that you don't use it!!!
Love what you did with the bookshelf backing. LOVE the antique clock. Great studio!
I loved your apartment tour and watched it twice. I have now subscribed and can't wait to see new videos.
thank you so much!! more videos are definitely in the works and coming soon 🤗
Love that weird retro touch hamper in the bathroom....beats that pile of dirty towels in the corner.
When you Are european and expect a giant flat and Then realize it‘s square ft and not square meters 😂😂😂
Yep, it took a couple of years before I immediately was able to picture in my mind what a 250 square feet tiny house/apartment would look like
When I was a young person most large spaces were measured in square yards, think 60s and 70s.
The marble contact paper was a good idea. I would not have thought of that!
I can’t imagine paying anywhere close to 2k or even 1k for rent!! I wonder how people earn their money or what they do so they can eat and have medical care?
If you don't make a lot of money, it doesn't make sense to live in Manhattan.
I live in NY and have 4 jobs (that I love by the way!) and lucked out on my studio apartment. I know I will move eventually, but I love my neighborhood. Everything is a trade off. I agree that rent prices here are insane, and landlords are pathologically greedy.
limespider8 omg 4 jobs? Then when do you sleep or eat 😳
@@Mariemarie-uw7id I know right. Sounds like they don't even need to rent.
Berk Sarioz yeah indeed. I mean I am about to move into a small but cheap apartment yeah I rent it but dont need 4 jobs to afford it thats just crazy!
So adorable and comfortable looking. I LOVE the green rug, it really makes the room for me.
I love all the color in your apartment. So so cute!
thank you so much! ☺️
