So true. I had smallish homes and longed for a big house. I thought that would help with the clutter. No! In a large house, I've discovered, if you are not careful you will just have a big clutter.

I placed my bed in the dining nook of my one bedroom apartment. It's really not so bad. Leaves living room and bedroom available for other uses. The bed makes up to look like a daybed during the day.
Same. I think I could live in a place this size but would need to have my bed/bedroom area somehow bordered off from the rest either with a curtain or folding wall.

I started crying when she mentioned that the dog pillow of her now deceased dog is the same size as he was when he was alive. She seems so joyful and kind!

Such a warm inviting place. Clever choices make it seem much larger. The bedroom area really does fade into the background with the way the furniture is set up and gives the feel of it's own little room. The kitchen nook is just darling and nicely separated from the living space. Some really smart and efficient ways to maximize the space.

Clever zoning and storage throughout. Love the "citrus" theme in the kitchen and the artwork in the entire space. Very fresh. Inspired by the extra shelving under the sink and the motion activated light, too.

Those 2chairs I bought at Walmart 4my 1st apartment just like that .I only used two and paired it with a free table!!The most comfortable chairs ever!!

I love this apartment! I love the person who lives there - so creative and genuine. It sounds as if she has a fantastic mother who inspired her. I'm saving this video because it makes me happy to see this cozy but not cramped place.
Rachel did a great job of making her home look cute and cozy, while still being very functional. So, often the small spaces shown doesn’t have a a TV watching area. He’s has a TV complete with a very comfy couch. This is definitely one of my favorites from Apartment Therapy.
Rachel is a very charming young lady. She has done wonders with the small space she occupies. I only wish that her landlord would have been graceful enough to give her studio a fresh coat of paint and make her kitchen cabinets a bit nicer.

I'm little like she is, and with those high ceilings, I might think about a loftlike bed, with space underneath for... a desk, a dining table, a cozy chair... whatever. But I like the way she's done it too.

Ok as a native i actually think this is a pretty good deal for a studio? Nowadays it’s hard to find something under 2k (sadly.) I do like how much she DIY’ed and added to the kitchen for example and overall while still small I think she did get to make it seem more~~ And i love her dinette area!

I like the adding additional storage to the cabinet, because it’s a rental we’re there holes drilled into the cabinet, how did you attach the wood the was placed in between cabinets. Ps respect for studio living, as I’m apartment hunting I seem to turn down studios I like the idea of having a separate room for a bedroom. So kudos for making it work

So beautifully decorated, especially working with 275 square feet. I wish I had the autonomy to do the kind of work she did in her place. And I would get a partition screen for the bed.
Wonderfully done! I bet she had a great college dorm room too. This must feel like an upgrade from that. Downsizing your stuff is great advice for all of us.
I love your space!! 2 tips….1. The fake drawers do not have handles. If you put handles on the fake pull out drawers it will give the impression that they are functional. It will “look” bigger. 2. Your fantastic bathroom. The yellow and black tile. Run with the BLACK accent color. Black shower curtain, black bath mat, spray paint the wicker shelf black. The bathroom will then look designer. Currently it does not. Small spaces such as the bathroom, go big!! Great job!!!!

Save space - rid the blanket basket, use over the door shoe holder (clear plastic enveolope type). Raise bed using adjustable, stackable bed raisers. I did these things living in a place that was about 160 sq ft. I had like everything under my bed and I liked sleeping high up. It helped alot. Love your couch, 2 seater would be better though. For storage under the bed, a great way to hide it is with cute little bed skirt. You can fit so much underneath without a trace lol! :)

Well done. I can’t imagine spending 1800 per month on such a small space. To some people the NYC experience is worth it.
I think its great when your really young but cant imagine living this way after age 35
