That's not Billie Holiday, she was a vocalist and didn't play trumpet. Billie died in 1959. The photo you have framed and hanging on your wall taken in 1963 is of Lorraine Glover, wife of famous hardbop trumpet player Donald Byrd. Photo was shot by photographer William Claxton. .

Bravo! They also look...nothing alike lol! Why do hipsters insist on hanging up images of people..places...bands...etc...of which they know nothing about? Just to establish some kind of image of themselves? Why not get into Billie and her music and THEN rep her by putting up images of her on your wall. Like that Tom Ford book...it is in EVERY TH-camr’s apartment tour and the majority have no clue who he is, they’re not interested in fashion...they get it because everybody has it and it’s “bougggggieeeeee” 😂😩😂😩😂😩😂😩i caaaaant. Love this place!! Important recommendation though - DO NOT keep vinyl records in direct sunlight like that! They can actually warp and melt. All the best :)

Katy, your studio apartment is absolutely adorable!! I love your decorating style.
You could maybe separate the "bedroom" with a glass wall panel with framing. You would get the visual separation but still get the light in and not make the space feel small. 😊🌿

I adore this apartment!!?! so beautiful and cozy and homey and warm!! I absolutely love it! Everything, the colours, the vintage pieces, the decorations, the wood tones wow just so lovely and beautiful!! and I love how real it looks and how much beautiful stuff you have, I love this much more than a too minimal style even tho I can appreciate that, too.. just so incredibly beautiful and cozy!

Hi, what a lovely space. Just wanted to say that the Hemnes shoe storage from IKEA might be a perfect solution for your hair tools outside your bathroom :). It is narrow and has amble pull out storage drawers! Have a lovely day ☺️
Just water your plants in the window 1 time each month and they will survive. They are easy care plants, so over watering those are a no no. Let the soil dry out completely and when it's time to water, take them to the sink and give them a really good soak. Fertilize 2 or 3 times a year.
Oh, and tell them they are loved and beautiful. I know it sounds silly, but it works. 😊

Your place is so beautiful. It's diverse and personal yet everything goes together. I personally could never have my bed just part of the living room, like I need at least a divider in the form of an arch. But I love everything else.

This is so beautiful! I was super surprised to see you didn’t have any rugs but the space still looks so warm and inviting. As for your window plants, they may be getting too much sun. It’s been abnormally warm and sunny here in NY and the drastic temp shift could be affecting your plants - plus the space heater.

genuine question: i keep seeing these studio apartments where the kitchen is literally in the same space as the bed, like how do you not get cooking grease everywhere esp when you dont have a cooking hood? even when i have a cooking hood in a well ventilated space, grease just goes everywhere .
tbh it's not a problem for me. maybe because I use less oil? a little splatter on the counter/the backdrop here and there but that's it
In NYC 95% of people never use a stove, nobody cooks here.

Sahara L I live in a 470 sq. ft. studio in Seattle, and it’s never an issue for me! To be fair I don’t use a lot of oil, and if I do and hear it starting to pop, I’ll put a cover over my pan (the ones will little holes for ventilation).
That's what a studio apartment is. There is no separate bedroom. But, the bed is usually on the opposite side from the kitchen

I realize you def do this for textra seating and to watch tv from bed lol but have you ever considered creating separate bedroom and living room areas by possibly turning your couch to face the window and like switching the bookshelf and your tv? For a new desk, you should look into getting two side tables/nightstands to use as the legs and get an old wooden countertop from a flea market or something to rest on the side tables. Then you'd have plenty of drawer space and depending on where you look for the top, you could get it long enough and deeper!
