Jacob and co have always confused me, but in recent times I have came to hate their watches due to their insane prices attached to their astronomia models or bugatti watches. Some of jacob and co's watches are nice, but they just don't hold enough value for money

Jacob is a jeweller, not a watchmaker. His watches aren’t a watch, but more like a timetelling bracelet. Some people love them, some don’t, I personally think there are much better watches for that price, like you said.
Can’t imagine the cost just to service this type of watch.
Why does "value for money" need to be a factor for every watch brand? If you want value for money, there are brands for that.
This is a brand for rich people who simply want to buy things they like. Things that are different, things that are expensive.
These people likely own rolexs/APs/Pateks etc and they just want different/fun pieces. If they want 'class' or 'heritage' then there is brands for that.
I know its hard to fathom if you are someone who is constantly thinking about value or resale price etc but there is a market of people who are not concerned by this and the fact that Jacob & co is still in business and selling well is proof of that market.
If I told you that a lot of original Bugatti Veyron owners only bought it because of its high price tag, would you believe that? Because that is also true.

Honestly as a layman, I liked these watches. But as I learnt more about watches I started finding them tacky. Because watch enthusiasts told me they were. At the end of the day, your opinion on materialistic objects is validated by people's opinion. If people said poop is valuable and gave you their reasons to tell you why, and more and more people start saying the same thing. You would believe it too. Wear what you like
I mean dawg, since when do you ever buy a watch out of “value for money”? It’s S&D and your appreciation of it for its aesthetics or for it being a status symbol, period.
Some of their watches look like something you’d give to your son or a kid. Don’t get me wrong many of them are stunning watches to take a second mortgage out for but others… childish
Are you really gonna complain about their "contribution to horology" when just about every other brand out there is just reissuing the same old tired designs and charging bonkers amounts of money for things everyone's seen a million times before? If I had a few millions, damn right I'd buy one of these over a Datejust or a Royal Oak. An Astronomia Sky is a genuinely beautiful, intricate and revolutionary piece. Most of the models people wank over tell you the time and date and aren't even particularly accurate. Frankly, I'd rather have a Citizen with a caliber 0100 and at least know that it's keeping time properly than all of the "horological masterpieces" people are constantly hyping up.
Beautiful Art is priceless, that's what it is with jacobs not like other fake brands.
Most of them look like cheap toys for kids. Nothing about them strikes me as classy. I admit some of them are pretty cool, but not what I look for in a valuable time piece. Even if money wasn't an issue for me in order to buy one I can't see myself purchasing one. Maybe just 1 to have in my collection, but I would probably never wear it lol. For me a beautiful watch doesn't have gold or jewels, nor does it scream for attention.
Sounds too hatery. A watch is just a watch however expensive. Over priced sure but if you like it then they aren't really doing anything wrong are they? Noone gives a shit about the watch history or whatever lets be real. To argue a point you could ask why its hard to get a rolex watch.
For me you shouldn't buy watches as "Investment pieces" anyone that does that is a sucker. You should only buy a watch because you like it.

Rolex has out performed Gold and many other assets over the past 10 years, SOME watches are amazing investment pieces, just not every watch...
So many people care about the history of a watch, you are clearly very new to watches, or have absolutely no clue about timepieces at all
Jacob & Co have done wrong in the past, which I have mentioned in other videos. Their founded was convicted for selling fake diamonds and being involved in criminal activity, and now they are ripping off customers with inflated price tags to make their watches seem more desirable
Educate your self before you try and be smart
