If you go into Tutorial Book > Pawn > Pawn Badges it says that pawns get more experienced with badges and by the time you get it maxed, they know the most efficient way to kill an enemy. Also just by playing the game I did notice how pawn change. Now my pawn always go for the tail first, then goat head, then lion head, whenever it fights chimera. Very consistent. Wasn't like that before she got full badge. So it definitely does look like maxed badges have at least some effect.
Fascinating! I wonder if there are ways to make Pawns "unlearn" some bad habits. For instance, I've noticed that after my Sorcerer Pawn began being hired more often, he'll Levitate + Cast more often, which I don't really like because sometimes he'll fly too high, fall down and cancel the cast.
@BingBangPoe I think that's a class thing. Being able to turn it off at the vocation guild would be better. Ive noticed my pawn would do that as sorcerer but not as a mage.
Strider with full bestiary knowledge and utilitarian inclination or fighter with dragon maw could solo BBI just by themselves tbh. DD2 pawns are nowhere near as good unfortunately.
Pawn does have the same skills as arisen. They do have pre-programmed knowledge of how to use certain skill combinations though. Although never seen any pawn do Implicate > jump > Skull Splitter combo in 200 hours, so there are some things they can never do.
Yeah, unfortunately casters don't really change much if at all. They just keep casting normally regardless. Only melee change noticeably, due to targeting weak spots consistently.
I just hired your pawn and how did you get her to use scarlet kisses on weak points so much did you have to play thief and do that for them to learn it or that's just what happens after you get all the pawn badges?
Does it matter what vocation the pawn is when acquiring the badges like if you get them all as warrior and swap the pawn to archer will it still have the knowledge?
For pawn: Implicate, Skull Splitter, Formless Feint and Ignited Blades. Last one can replace sometimes, I am still testing stuff. I would prefer to run Masterful Kill instead of Feint on pawn, but pawn AI is terrible with timing, they can't properly time it. Draw and Quarter deals pitiful damage and makes them disengage early. Powder Blast is an option, but they don't disengage and detonate it while clinging, resulting in them getting knocked down, so that leaves them vulnerable. Also they spam that skill, so others get neglected. Concussive Blast might be worth considering at least.

@@oninomiru Thank you for replying. I noticed your pawn. question, you have the heavens key equipped, but also flame skill for daggers. I thought enchantments dont replace permanent enchantments on weapons. So why have the flame skill?
I was mostly testing different daggers. Had Dragon Vein daggers before, but switched to heaven's key due to higher knockdown power. Decided not to change ignited blades, because it has good skill usage ratio for AI. Every skill in the loadout is about 25% here. Changing to something else will change the ratio too.
