    I am 48 6'3" 200 and I try to work out every day. I moved back to the 710 and a stiff shaft from extra stiff and I feel like I can swing about 80% of max, keep my distance, improve my accuracy and not be fatifgued at all after a round.

    My ping 7i is at 36deg. The G710 7i is at 29.5.. really a 5i, hence that 5K spin rate and distance. We basically could say that 7i is equivalent to the one length 5i.

      Ping eye2 from the 1980’s had a 7iron @ 36 degrees. Much has has changed since then but the truth remains that you hit the right club to get the job done.

    Great review, can you confirm which lifts these were, I know Ping offer a couple of different lofts per set.

      @bunkered  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Neil. All three irons were in standard loft as opposed to the power or retro spec lofts Ping offer. The G710 7-iron is at 29.5˚, G410 30˚ and i500 30.5˚. DC

    How does finish on the G710 hold up?

    • @bunkered
      @bunkered  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      During my testing it was holding up very well. I couldn't speak to how well it would hold up on a longer-term basis though, as my testing of the irons was limited to a handful of rounds/range sessions. I would imagine though it would last very well, and have heard no reports to make me think otherwise. DC

    Like your review on 710 - What would I expect in differences steel vs graphite

    • @bunkered
      @bunkered  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally a graphite shaft will launch higher and be more user friendly for those with lower swing speeds. DC

    I know the review is a little while old, I have been playing mizuno jpx 919 hot metal for a couple of seasons and to be honest never really got on with them and I’ve certainly lost distance from my previous irons which were the original Titleist ap-1 (10 years old). Would you say that the g710’s are a more forgiving club than then mizuno? I have no faith in my current irons and even though the pings have been around a year or so all the reviews seem to come back to them. Would appreciate your view. Cheers

      @bunkered  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      PING are experts at producing very forgiving irons so I would recommend checking the G710 or the new G425 irons for yourself. If you like them then be sure and custom fitted to maximise performance. DC

    I’m a high handicapper , playing with the g30 irons . Looking to upgrade my clubs , which should I go for 410 or 710 ? Thanks . Norm.

    • @bunkered
      @bunkered  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both would be great upgrades. My suggestion is to try both out and see which one works for you best. The G710 will be the one for you if you're looking for max distance and forgiveness. If you want something that looks a bit sleeker and feels better then you'd go for the G410.You'll have a tough time choosing between the two. DC

    I'm new to golf (less then a year of playing) and I am comfortable with my chipping/short game and feel very good about my drive but my iron game is struggling bad... I bought the i500 from a friend on a good deal but they aren't "forgiving" I guess you would say, admittedly I need to continue to hit the range and work on ball striking but even on hits the sound and feel good I make bad shots on the course. I can't find consistence, would maybe making a switch to the g710 irons help or should I tough it out? I'm honestly at this point ready to sell my clubs and quit playing all together because as much as I play (average the driving range twice a week and play the course at least once a week) I'm seeing no improvement in my iron play, this is my last try to fix it before walking away.

    • @bunkered
      @bunkered  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stick in. I know what it's like to go through a tough spell with your ball striking. Although the G710 irons will deliver some added help over the i500 irons, my advice would be to go and get yourself some lessons. If you're really struggling with your iron game then some lessons to fix the issues will be best. Then, once you've got things sorted out you might want to consider getting custom fitted for a set of irons. DC

    How did they stop on the greens?

    • @bunkered
      @bunkered  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      All 3 had great stopping power thanks the combinations of launch, spin, peak heights and most importantly descent angle. All stop very similarly but just go about it in different ways. DC

    How does the black finish hold up? LP

    • @bunkered
      @bunkered  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've only played a few rounds with the irons so can't tell you exactly how they'll be in the long run. I did, however use a PING Glide 2.0 wedge in a black finish for a while and it held up great, so I reckon these will hold up just as well. DC

    I never understand golf club reviews which dont show a single golf shot? A “talking head” format isnt at all interactions or interesting. I know there is a lot of info to impart, but why not voice that over action footage?

    • @bunkered
      @bunkered  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good thing my videos show plenty of golf shots then overlayed all the info. DC

      @@bunkered it didnt! I guess you have 2 options; 1) take the feedback of a viewer (one of not that many from memory) and develop / grow your media skillset, in much the same way as you would have done with your golf game.
      Or
      2) ignore / disregard feedback with a glib response.
      Your choice makes zero difference to me, but a lot to you!
