I imagine the pillars' essences were being put to use for weapons and armor and he prob didn't have 12 of each to make the summon. Usually how it goes in my playthroughs.

Portal 2, Half Life 2, TF2, DOTA 2, and now they're making CS:GO2. What really drives home the fact Valve can't count past 2 is Valve actually has made more HL games, HL: Alyx and HL: Deathmatch, for example.

Almost every time I play Terraria I do a solo melee sword build. The only time that melee actually kind of sucks is on Master mode, mainly during pre-hard mode due to the severe lack of strong knockback or range options for swords.
Edit: I just realized that the Starfury is a major exception, but it is far from easy to obtain.

@@thegoldenraysoftheglorious1180 You need to get lucky for those, because to craft them you need ingredients that can only be found on SKY ISLANDS, and the gravity potions aren't exactly common.

Basicly a tutorial on how to beat Hardmode as the ranged class
No one told me you can break plantera's bulb, magic mirror back to spawn, go to your boss arena (your boss arena has to be completely made out of platforms only, no solid blocks) and plantera would only be able to move on the ground. And then you can just use your megashark with cholorophyte bullets and shoot below you.
