@@ajdndbdjbdj It's a post skeletron item you can get for accumulating enough golf points. I'd recommend farming for it by setting up a golf cup at the bottom of a hellevator and putting golf balls down it multiple times.

it's gotten to the point where i added a trash can to my usual chest set up labelled "Useless" and use it to store Pink Gel, components for things that aren't the class i'm playing, and if it's modded anything from mods that's not very useful (either on its own or one of those "use this to make a single accessory then never touch it again" style items many mods like to have).
Pink gel can be used for peace candles tho

There's one item that isn't on this list that I want to point out:
Coal!
Coal is an item that can be obtained from opening presents during Christmas. It's tooltip is "you've been naughty this year", and it has the same rarity as fishing junk, meaning it sells for zero money. The major downside it has over fishing junk is that it cannot be extractinated, making it 100% useless!

I use a mixture of the gravity globe, wings, soaring insignia, and portal gun to go _super_ fast and zip across my terraria world at very high speeds. And I occasionally use the new rod of harmony.

Flamewaker boots used to be _so_ much worse than they are now. They used to require lava waders, which, prior to labor of love, were a pain in the ass to get and better off being used for terraspark boots. I'm not that fond of terraspark boots because amphibian boots are just better in most situations. But like, if you're going out of your way for lava waders, why would you upgrade them with a cosmetic visual effect when you could upgrade them with all the stuff frostspark boots provide?
Oh this, this video's script was being made before 1.4.4 came out actually! I wrote this when hellfire treads used lava waders in their recipe. I'm slow so I had to add those shimmer clips in last minute because I know folks would've brought it up if I hadn't

As for holy water. I felt like creating an artificial hollow biome in the crimson right next to the dungeon in my world and move my npcs there to get a pylon. It actually worked. (This house has party girl, wizard, crystal ball, a mythril anvil, and some really dope ass blocks.)

late reply, but you can farm it for the golf cart mount as well which serves as a good early game mount, especially if you're doing challenge runs that stunt progression.

my friend threw me a KO Cannon in one multiplayer session and tried to teleport away. i saw it and decided it's useless to me and he can keep it in his inventory. so i threw it back as he was standing on a teleporter... and we descovered a teleporter duping glitch. we filled a whole chest with the same Keen KO Cannon and build it a shrine next to our base. it'll never be a useless trashy item in out hearts ever again.

The only time I've used it in terraria is in modded with alchemist npc to throw at the brewer and the alchemist to get the young brewer pre hardmode for ichor flasks.

I will remove one of the Ale Tosser's cons, being that you have to "Tear your desert apart for mugs" because the Tavernkeep, literally the guy you get it from, *sells the item you need for his weapon's ammunition*
... Still a bad weapon though. You are better off going to the Shimmer and turning that infinite mug-source into glass and sand for building, brewing potions, or maybe even the Sandgun if you are a masochist.

The paper airplane reminds me of the sub-weapon from Castlevania Portrait of Ruin. It was also a weak throwing weapon. The fact that both the sub-weapon and the weapon from Terraria to a loop-de-loop shortly after being thrown makes me think it could be a reference? There have been many Castlevania references in Terraria before, after all.
Look at all the cut reference weapons from the game over the years. Its amazing. They even had the 2 versions from Maka's Scythe from Soul Eater in the game.

I love this video!! Some of my favorite moments in terraria come from finding unexpected sides of unconventional items. For example, when I was doing a no crafting run, I found out that the most powerful bullets you could buy were the party bullets! That you could only get from piñatas! Which made the party girl one of the most important NPCs that run

Celebration would be cool if ir was Pre-Plantera instead of Post-Golem. Give it a unique Firework Rocket bought from the Party Girl as to not spawn the Cyborg Pre-Plantera and Boom, its now slightly better.
Finally, someone who appreciates the niche and novelty aspects of some Terraria items. I was so tired of people scoffing at kites and golf because it's "useless" when really they can be very entertaining.

The post moon lord weapons also have their place in mods that extend progression past moon lord, including the two most iconic mods Calamity and Thorium
In which case the endgame weapons of these mods take their place. This is just an inescapable problem with a game that has a final boss and doesn't end on its defeat, you either make it drop no loot and be super unsatisfying or make it drop loot that is essentially pointless since you've beat the entire game anyway.
Sleepy octopod is genuinely ok, the shockwave can do lots of damage and can hit through walls. It’s bad against bosses but are really good weapons for usual exploring

Well. You can actually obtain zenith before moonlord. Alchemy is your best friend.
I just realised, technically speaking, every item in a game has a purpose. Even if you made an item which has literally zero use... It's still an item people can use for a joke / clutter in a chest, like poisonous potatoes from Minecraft. It's ironic how some things in the world have a meaning either in the search *for* a meaning, or the fact they are useless. Like random background characters in a show, they don't do anything other than make the scene feel more lively.

The octopod actually has a very good use against bosses where kiting close to the can give you an advantage, since knockback doesn't eject them 50 feet away and the spin can hit multiple segments on the worms. Great farming tool and even better in the calamity mod rn for its ability to decimate the aqautic scourge.
I know this is 6 months ago, but just about everything shreds the aquatic scourge. I find myself wondering why I sweat harder on the desert scourge and I only ever play master revengeance lmao. Seriously though, AS is one of the easiest bosses

that being said, i'd say the only true useless items are ones that are way harder to acquire, yet are at most sidegrades to what you'd normally use, so by the point you'd get them, you'd have something better, way easier

Fun fact: the flower boots and fairy boots allow you to grow your own plants in the jungle incredibly fast, which can then be broken for jungle grass seeds, rinse and repeat, which are incredibly tedious to collect otherwise with their 1% chance to drop from plants in the jungle. So they do in fact have a practical, albeit niche, use.

To add to the value of the post moonlord weapons I would say that the empress of light during the day is the actual final challenge and obviously higher dps and less time fighting her is a big deal.
