Working on a new set of armors, its gonna be an alternate for the vanilla armors, with optional variants if you like the skimpier kinds lol. Honestly i hate how tedious modding can be, but end result is totally worth it, especially if youre just modding for your game in mind. Have to love mods :D.
Why on earth is this video unlisted??? I found it via the article, after I had searched for good videos on youtube and simply could not find a good simple to follow one. The others start with people trying build a house, or make a new follower. Or go into explaining the entirety of how modding works. But I think it's ALWAYS best to start with a short simple tutorial that lets the user say "I did something" while showing them some of the basics and leading them to possibly better understand what questions they need to ask to learn more. And here it is, hidden away, unlisted for some reason. Haha
Hey, so I put this video out originally in 2016 and haven't touched the creation kit since then. If you wanted to just drop the weapon into a random spot (like in Alvor's smithy in Riverwood) you would actually navigate to the worldspace in the creation kit and just drag and drop the mace into the game. Sorry that it's not a more technical explanation but like I said, I haven't touched the creation kit in over five years.
I re-uploaded the video from 2016 but since then I have upgraded from windows 7 to Windows XP Black because it has the best media player for my limewire library.
@@outspokengamingz6302 Well, it's been nearly 7 years since I've done any modding for Skyrim but seeing as how this video has gotten so popular over the last year I guess I could look into it on my free time.
So not only does it not work for me but when I go back into the creation kit to try and see what when wrong I have to download all the game files again (0.38-0.45). Is it normal to have to do that every time you open the kit again or it something wrong and is that why it didn't work or are they two different problems?
Hello, this is a very basic tutorial on making a custom weapon. There are more steps that have to be done to enchant or upgrade that are not covered as it is a more advanced topic. I filmed this tutorial in 2016, but it was unlisted which is why the date is 2021 because that's when I switched it to public.
@@FudgedDiceRoll yeah i found one video that explains it (make 3 other stuff like recipe, temper and ench), i tried still failed, I'm not sure if i did something wrong. @@FudgedDiceRoll Np! Yeah idk either lol. For me I think it’s that I finally have a PC build that I can push to the limits. So naturally I started adding Skyrim VR mods. Then thought… “hmmm maybe I should make my own” lol.
I have posted an updated video. It could also be dependent on what platform you have the game on. I've heard that people that have it through GOG have had issues with the directory. I have it through steam.
Yes, that is possible, but that will change every instance of the weapon or item across the game. So, if the base template of an Ebony Mace was modified to do 10 fire damage per hit all Ebony Maces will do that. If you don't want to use console commands you can pick a cell on the map to place the item in instead. The only reason I didn't do that is because some mods change cells, like city overhaul mods, which could alter the location of a placed item depending on where you put it in the world.
Only video I’ve been able to find in like 4 hours of searching that was clear and made perfect sense. Article was great too! Thank you!
Glad it helped you out

Hey, thanks for the love and I'm glad you found this video helpful. Not sure how it ended up unlisted but I'll go ahead and make it public.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is the reference.
Yo!! Nice video!! Very clear instructions and great humor!! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
Thank you. It's an old video but I like to think my humor is the same.

How can you designate a place to place this item? Like in a barrel in Whiterun, or a new chest next to Riverwood?

It won’t let me change the value in the damage window. Have you run into this problem, or know how to fix it?

How add custom textures or change the “form” model
I do not know how to change the 3D models as I am not a 3D modeler and it has been over 6 years since using the Creation Kit.

You should be able to reskin a sword with the torch model but I'm pretty sure that the hitbox would be off given the differing lengths.

I had a fair bit of fun with Starfield and will likely look into doing some modding for it. If I do, I'll probably post a few videos of it.
Ty man.
This works with Skyrim LE?
It should, there was not a noticeable difference between creation kits that I could see.
Can you show how to make new skins for weapons?
I'm not an artist so I can't help you with making new skins. I have not touched the modding tools or the game since 2016.
😐
im going to abuse this power
is it possible to instead of dupelucating it just change the original version so instead its just changed and you can bypass the console command part?
Yes, that is possible, but that will change every instance of the weapon or item across the game. So, if the base template of an Ebony Mace was modified to do 10 fire damage per hit all Ebony Maces will do that. If you don't want to use console commands you can pick a cell on the map to place the item in instead.
