    Such a great video. I wish all comparison videos were like this: mostly music, examples back to back and miked from a reasonable distance/not compressed to oblivion. Thanks so very much!

    I absolutely love these snail ukes! The playability, craftsmanship, and sound quality is amazing for the price! I just purchaced a BH-8C brand new for $160 and it should be arriving later this week. This video is the only demo I could find on this model, and it sold me on it! I currently have an AR-400 with spruce top and camphor burl b/s and a BHC-6T with cedar top and ebony b/s.

    This comparison proofs a concert can be as good as a tenor .In my opinion, in this case, the concert has a more refined and sparkling sound .Very nice to hear the differences.

      Each has their charms, but a Tenor has a rounder quality in my opinion. Less tinny.

    I came here to validate my assumption that I prefer the tenor, and you didn't disappoint. The tenor's attack is slower, rounder, and warmer. A concert would be better for a group or full mix, but the tenor has more depth and warmth as a solo. They both sound beautiful, very nice instruments! Also, the tenor will be more comfortable for me in transitioning from guitar.

    I have a concert i got on accident as I thought I was getting a tenor haha I actually like the higher G string and thr sounds makes it feel like a harp at times. I only started playing 3 days ago but its just a feeling i felt from a tenor. I think i will buy another Concert and Tenor later on.

    • @WorldofUkes
      @WorldofUkes  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I'd usually suggest a concert if you can't go and try some. It's the middle size between soprano and tenor and most people are OK with one. (For example, I have settled on playing a tenor, but I can play a concert fine too as it's not that much smaller).

    • @glowiever
      @glowiever 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@alyr5348generally they will vibrate better the closer you are to the middle. with ukulele, the middle of the string falls on the fretboard away from the soundhole so when you pick on them strings they will have a bigger amplitude and sound better.

      @WorldofUkes  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @GuitarP0RN low g on a concert isn't as popular as with a tenor so not everyone makes a set. But it's perfectly normal to pair a single low G (like a Fremont Squeakless) with the C, E and A from a different set. Mix and match with the low G (which are often sold separately).

      Most people can manage either - they're both still much smaller than a guitar. But I'd say concert... People who end up liking a small soprano most can usually manage a concert fine. People who end up preferring a larger tenor tend not to find a concert to be too small to be a problem. So concert seems a good bet!
