Hey, man - great video. Really helped my son and I out. We picked up a MMB80 and a 72V, 4900RPM motor kit and were stumped on how/if we should add the freewheel that came in the kit. Doesn't look like you used one and still had success so we're going in that direction
@@bigboofpassplz It stalled due to family problems. I sent it to the Mini bike Expert and he built me a bike that was out of this world. Problem was...someone ELSE thought it was out of this world too and it got STOLEN! That's the 2nd Speedy to be snatched by scumbags in the Phoenix Area. Now we don't know what to do. I had a whole bunch of smaller videos I was going to make a big compilation video out of as the build up to the return of Speedy II but now that it's gone...it's kind of pointless.
Great! Now you can ride for 40 minutes and recharge over a 5 - 6 hours. All of the low price of around $2,000 if you don't have any of these parts. Man this bike is slow with a 48v. You really need a 72v to get any real speed.... and that battery alone will cost you $1500. The price of a brand new 250cc Hawk dual sport motorcycle.
For starters you’re way off on your pricing. I have risen this thing for hours without charging. In addition, I didn’t build it for speed. It’s a perfect setup for a kid and fun around the neighborhood trails.
I just bought one of these that starts but won’t run. Wanted to make it electric honestly thanks for the video! Any ideas how many miles you get on that battery? How loud is that motor compared to the gas one?
I need to do a thorough test on the miles. It’s pretty far. I don’t hear the motor at all. It’s silent. The only noise the bike makes is the chain on the sprocket.
In fact you were right by doing this because the reverse function on this controller makes the motor spin backward but at a very slow speed, so to run at full speed in reverse the only solution is to swap phases
I’m wiring this exact setup on my mini bike. Not getting the motor to turn. Using a 60v dewalt until I can get a big battery. Anything that I might have missed?
That's a cool build but I still like my gas powered!!

I’m glad it helped
Freewheel? I hadn’t thought of that part. I have a Coleman I’m going to convert. So videos like this a fantastic.
That controller should have a program wire to change direction, two single white wires that connect together for this purpose.
If so I couldn’t figure it out.
That's pretty cool. I'm going to convert a BT200x. Bigger Motor and Battery/Controller
I kept is smaller due to smaller kids riding it usually.
hey man i know its been a year but how did the project go? i have the same frame and want to do the same thing

I want to do this with a Baja Heat frame I have, which is a bit larger with 19" tires.
That would be sweet
Do you absolutely have to bring the motor up off the frame even if you run a smaller rear sprocket?
Even if you get the my1020 kunray with the brackets attached to the motor, think it would work without bringing it up?
The chain would still hit the frame. The sprockets don’t make a big enough difference.
@@m10stuff so definitely go with a motor mount riser or build one out of angle?
Excellent video friend, do you have any reference to buy a 80A 72v controller
If you’re talking just about the controller then this one has good reviews.

Where did you find the sprockets for the motor?
eBay. The link is in the description.
What kind of a battery is it and how many volts
There’s a link in the description. It’s 48 volts to match the 48 volt motor.
this controller have a reverse fonction you didnt need to switch the motor phases, btw nice work
Thanks. I searched and couldn’t find it.

nice electric bike
Where can I get the battery

The only thing I didn’t leave on was the kill switch
What’s the voltage of the new motor?
Hopefully the 60v battery didn’t mess up the 48v controller
My Vevor controller has Rev leads,
5:20 The rear tire is super low on air
Thanks. We put some air in since then
How much did it all cost?
About $800 but you could save some money and get a smaller battery.
Anyone know what does that battery go for
Currently $350
How much range do you get with the battery
That’s a good question. I haven’t done any sort of distance testing, but that battery last a very long time for me.
@@m10stuff alright thanks
Good luck
Very good Brasil 🇧🇷
Pena que aqui os impostos tornam ainda caro um kit elétrico como esse .
Que pena, meu amigo. Sinto muito
