    Should have kept the pit bike tank and put all the controls in it and put battery underneath where the engine would go

    So cool to see you and your Dad working together. Looks like it turned out pretty good especially considering it was your first. E-Bikes are the coming thing keep up and you may become the next brilliant designer.

    When it comes to personal transportation and recreational electric motors, you can't beat these kits out of China. 1kw 1.8 2.0 2.5 3.0kw. All brushless mostly all paired with a controller and throttle for cheap!

    distance drive sprocket is away from swing arm pivot ( big ) could be a prob when you start hitting bumps ( chain will go slack /tight through suspension stroke.) old school mx bike sprung chain tensioner may help.

    • @JustOutRiding
      @JustOutRiding  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the advice, I was thinking I might need to add a chain tensioner, I will have a look at getting an old Mx bike one or something similar!

    mount the motor on the swing arm ,saves so much head aches ,and tossing chains off when hitting jumps

    • @isaacmadhavan
      @isaacmadhavan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Katie, granted that the weight of the motor isn't that much but that still increases the unsprung weight.

      i made an off road scooter swing arm design similar ,and when motor was in main body i just keep throwing the chain to often ,when the suspension compressed on jumps,can see what eventually came up with here,made it as compact as could,with limited tools at the time.th-cam.com/video/BOk2VLghv5E/w-d-xo.html

    Pro tip: If you have any old batteries (especially lead acid), check if your local battery stores or scrapyards will give credit for them. I got $15.20 for 4 SLA's, 1 car battery and 1 motorcycle battery (all very dead).

    Hey mate, good job looks sick, I've been building electric stuff for awhile and on the controller there are normally two wires called self learn or something along those lines. Look at the wiring diagram for the controller to find which two, plug it in and turn the battery on and it should go one way and if it doesn't go the right way take it out and plug back in, when finished unplug the wires and your done. But good job looks like fun
