I grow up in the 80’s and even when I was only 16 years of age I still loved and watched Bonanza:) I wish kids today watched good stuff like Bonanza instead of today’s garbage.
I am turning 18 this year and I grew up watching shows like Bonanza, The Christy Series, Doctor Quinn Medicine Women, Anne of Green Gables and so on. Something about the timeless classics makes me wish that life was simple and honest and good like it was.
Thank you so much for these truly great episodes of 'Bonanza'! I've been watching 'Bonanza' and every other great Western programs ever since I was a boy in the '50's-'60's. Before the P.C. phonies began their efforts to destroy American culture, we played "Cowboys and Injuns", Cowboys were our heroes, not villains! To them, programs like this are "bigoted" and "racist", like hell they are! They are as true of an idealized representation of the Old West as the 1960's censors would allow. Not all Indians are wonderful peaceful lovers of nature and not all Cowboys were no good scoundrels, as they would have us believe; there were good and bad in both cultures. Anyway, I am always amazed at the detailed work that went into these great old classic Western shows, from the dinnerware and the correct Western vernacular to the clothing and mannerisms, everything is authentic as was possible, of course the acting was superb as well. Maybe someday we will be allowed by the P.C. 'Virtue Signalers' to enjoy new versions of our favorite Westerns, until then we have the classics, like Bonanza to enjoy
I am old enough and lucky to have met all four main actors in 1962 near Lake Tahoe. I saw an episode on season 4, The Quest, filmed outdoors. The actors were nice to the public and for a 9 year old kid a real thrill.
Great episode i enjoy the one's where Little Joe gets in trouble. It's always fun to watch big brothers step into full fledged Hero form to protect & save little brother just as much as it's a joy to watch Pa jump into full fledged kick butt form if you hurt or mess with any one of his boys.
This is definitely one of my favorite episodes love the action & suspense. I'm just thinking I really wish Little Joe had his gun with him when they kidnapped them Joe was pretty handy with a gun when he had to be .
Ben Cartwright, Greene's character on Bonanza (1959), was ranked #2 by TV Guide in its list of the "50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time" [June 20, 2004 issue].
No doubt have to say i agree with that Pa Ben was definitely one of the greatest tv Dads of all time he was definitely loving, careing & very Heroic especially when it came to someone hurting or messing with one of his sons. Definitely agree.
Well i would make him(Ben) number one now, in light of Mr Cliff Huxtable, hypocrite. Never like him since he kicked Lisa Bonner of the show. And now labeled the predatorial bullying rapist .
At 34:20 during the fight scene, he picks up the guy to throw him, at 34:24 you can see that the man turned into a wooden barrel, then back into a man when the others caught him!
3:08 If you watched the final flashback scene of the 1962 episode "Inger My Love," that was the last time Gunnar had seen Ben, Adam, and his sister driving off in their wagon heading west. This scene in "The Last Viking" is the followup many years later. I wonder why Ben didn't ask Gunnar "Why are you wearing THAT outfit?" I would have!
They never showed the outhouse behind the building through the back door. I just assume it was not in the house, but good question for the 1800s. I wonder what they did up north in the freezing cold of winter. Was there a pot in the room, but what about the odor?
It used to be possible to write good shows, and now here we are in an age where everything's upside down. Today critics would be going crazy over how the girl was portrayed and would demand someones head.
Native American? He does look more Native American than Viking, but the episode is called "The Last Viking" because Ben Cartwright's first wife (And Hoss/Adam's mother) had Nordic ancestry and Gunnar was her brother.
Which is strange as the actor (or his stunt double anyway) is strong enough to lift the man over his head in the previous shot, so why not just show a few second close-up of him holding the other man?

Thanks for watching! May the Sauce be with you.
Animal Man 80's rule ‼️
Believe me as a young person I wish my age group stopped watching the garbage they do to.
@@yvonnequinn8487 Same. Some of the garbage on TV today doesn't hold a T to shows from the 2000s and back. And I'm only 14!

When I was much younger I loved watching Bonanza with my grandparents and now at 17, I still love watching the show :)

I grew up loving this show and don't think I'll ever out grow it.

I always loved this show.
I always wanted to live with that family.

Love the show wanted to marry Adam
@@ricardo53100 May I ask, how did you happen to be blessed enough to have met them? Were you an extra, or just happened to be on set?
@@marianwalsh6297 I think every girl in America wanted to marry that guy! lol.
I watched these shows with my dad as a little girl. Dad passed away. Watching these shows, makes me feel close to him. Thanks for the shows. 💓

Moral of the story if your an older guy stay in shape. for the younger camachees.
At 34:20 during the fight scene, he picks up the guy to throw him, at 34:24 you can see that the man turned into a wooden barrel, then back into a man when the others caught him!
Wow!! Good eye.
Great observation! Hollywood magic.
So they didn’t have stunt men, they had stunt barrels. 😁
good catch ! the old guyintoaberrelintoaguy stunt

42:44 - Very obvious stunt double, heh, especially the transition from full head of hair to thinning hair on the rock.
I always wondered where the restroom was in this house.
Restroom really ..its 1800"s
Me too. I always wanted to know where the restroom at the jail was too, with Sheriff Coffey?
Hahaha..
Indoor plumbing would have been rare in the 1880s, also nobody flushed on TV until All In The Family.

WHEN JEREMY SLATE PLAYED YOUNG, GUNNAR. HE NAMED HOSS. BEN KEPT HIS PROMISE TO GUNNAR.
35:51, Abe tells Ben that it was his brother-in-law that was responsible.
These chicks always fall down.
He acted so we'll almost bumped one of them off the show.
2:33.
Judo-Hoss, son.
So the Cartwright s dress as Vikings to get through to him.
Always the girls fault ‼️she could've said the Uncle wasn't the man who shot little joe🤐
Hoss didn't give her a chance!!

Is it American-native or viking?
Native American? He does look more Native American than Viking, but the episode is called "The Last Viking" because Ben Cartwright's first wife (And Hoss/Adam's mother) had Nordic ancestry and Gunnar was her brother.
I think you said it was not possible one man to see inside another man. Now I saw what he was like before he died.
