My favourite moment of today's day post rain break Australia bowled well they didn't give an inch to Nitish and Sundar but my word they both play that phase of the game with patients also test cricket at his peak
Australia bowled really well to dry up runs in that phase.. otherwise the lead could easily be less than 80-85. NKR and Washi did well to play time because time will be a factor if India wants to save this match. Australia still favourites as they were able to bowl tight and still have a substantial lead coz of that.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli must learn a lot from Nitish and Sundar that how to play Red Ball. Their prime has gone now they need to give chance to the young guns. If Pujara and RHane can be dropped then why not Rohit and Virat? They are not greater than Cricket as well. 😢
We need to give credit to Washington Sundar also. He played 162 odd balls, wear down Australian bowlers and gave Bumrah a full day rest so that India didn't have to bowl today.
Reddy should be a number 6 or 7 in ODis also. Along with Pandya, he will provide great balance and batting will be till 8 with Jadeja/Axar playing as well.
This Australian second innings may just be the absolute perfect time for Siraj to go on one of his crazy spells. Highly unlikely with the way hes bowled in this innings so far, but you never know with him he might just suddenly 'feel his knees pumping'
The tea break was not to Indias advantage. It was to australias. The bowlers were tired and India was scoring at a brisk pace and top of the bowlers. The break allowed Australian bowlers to rest, and come back with a fresh field packing to restrict the run rate. No way the early tea favored India. Quite the opposite
that not gonna happens under clueless leadership of rohit...just remember without head's contribution aussie smoked 470 in first inning.if head stays first 15 /20balls ,aussie will increase lead with fast pace...
@@Zimbabar_tuktuk Australia can acc and play with 4-5 rpo. Tomorrow aussie lead needs to be below 116, at best we must try and make it 86-100 run lead. Then match depends on what happens on day 5. Half done and half left.
Great moment for NKR's Dad in the crowd. Ready for the pivotal third innings. Moisture around which presumably slows the pitch breaking up a bit, making a bigger chase more realistic. Act four scene four to come.
I agree with Sunil Gavaskar. Today the series was on line. I am not a fan of Pant's such stupid shots, even if goes for 4 or 6. That is just giving an option for Bowlers to take your wicket. Even Sam Konstas played the same way, he was fortunate at the beginning that it didn't take his edge and resulted in some sort of poor looking dismissals. But it will happen soon.
It's clearly a new ball wicket..I can totally see Boland wreaking havoc tomorrow morning with the ball and India deciding to save the game from the post lunch session (after trying to give it a go initially). I also cam forsee India changing the batting order by opening with KL and/or promoting nitish which could backfire spectacularly. Kudos to Jasprit on the becoming the first bowler in test history to take 200 wickets at an average under 20.
Aus in a tricky situation again just like 4 years ago in sydney and brisbane.... If they go hard tomorrow, last week 88/7 can happend ... and india have given them a few scars in recent times to not give a target less than 400.... if they give 400 they at least need 2 sessions if not more to bat...... And they have seen in this innings that even 4 session time might not be enough ... if not for that run out india would have been in a good situation Ohhh its on in every situation..... 5 full days of action ....doesnt get better than this
@SerioussoccerfanYT well they say one problem at a time..... and the form that a few players are in this team they would happily say just be safe in this series and forget wtc for now .... but again its a long shot still 7 days of play to go in this series
@Jarred - Mate! I feel you seem to take the opposite side of the argument just to come across different. Even if that shot resulted in a 6..it was needless and was playing right into oppositions’s hands. Pant’s shot was idiotic and height of stupidity. India wasn’t chasing an impossible target for him to play audacious shots. As Somani said, he was ticking along nicely..there was no need for it. India needed him to stabilize the position than showing off! There’s something called match awareness, which Pant seems to lack big time. He wasn’t batting with the tail..he had Jadeja, Reddy and Sundar to bat with. You can’t play irrational cricket and say that’s my natural game! You mould your game for the team’s cause and circumstance. Reddy put his maiden century on the line for the team! Now..that’s what you call for the team’s cause. Yes! He has single handedly won matches for India..but they all were calculative innings! None of this..look what I can do..idiotic stuff. If he continues on this path, soon Dhruv Jurel would be taking the gloves off Pant.
💯 sunni ji is right about panth.. those shorts are unnecessary in test cricket specially yesterday .. it’s not limited over match to try those risky shots
Australian bowlers did what maximum they can do to get NKR. it was an impeccable innings from NKR. He was orthodox, he was unorthodox, has good qualities of a ideal test players. It was stupendous work to play like as NKR played against the greats patty, starc , boland and great lion. Still australian are in ascendancy. Indian have do lot of work even to draw this match. At this position they are in the game. All indian batters have to apply them selves at fifth day to save the match. I think still pitch is good to bat on. Hardly any signs vulnerability on the pitch. Is the pitch will be same for the fifth day or any deterioration happen on fifth day
Hi Jarrod. Can you do some analysis of the reviews that went against India and the impact those decisions have had on the series. Maybe it's my inherent bias but just off the top of my head it seems that Australia have been huge beneficiaries of the umpires'call in the series. Travis Head in the 1st Match, and Steve Smith in both innings where he scored centuries should have been out very early but was saved by umpires call. The outcomes would have been very different in my opinion
1 time. ajit agarkar took 7 wicket in 2nd inning of Aus. After India behind 100 odd runs behind India chase down 225 runs in 4th innings of chase at MCG
That was Adelaide, 2003 when Agarkar took 6 wickets and Dravid and Ponting got double tons. Australia's lead was around 30 odd. India lost at MCG in that series despite Sehwag's blistering 195 on the first day.

Sunil Gavaskar does not take criticism well.. he is a child of 60s... Pant should always know the situation of the game.. He must back his natural flair.
This Indian bowling attack is perhaps one of the most toothless one in the past decade! With pedestrian batting (with all the superstars performing pathetically) and a below average bowling attack (barring, of course, Bumrah) don’t deserve to goto the WTC finals!
Toothless????? Dude if you compare every bowler with bumrah it won't make sense akashdeep has been really good without much luck only siraj was a disappointment specially in this test match.
