Have had multiple family members that were truckers. I never knew you had to go through all this to get the rug rolling. What a pain! Gives me a better understanding/ appreciation for the drivers. I have to learn this for my state to obtain a Chauffeurs License. I doubt I will ever need to do this. Good explanation and video! Thanks!
please do a video on braking systems and combination vehicles...I don't see anyone else doing a video on it and I think it would be incredibly helpful. thanks to all of you guys who make these. It is so helpful for people like me that need visual explinations
you forgot the static test. and forgot to mention we shouldnt lose 3 psi in on minute in a combination vehicle for the static test, then for the applied test we shouldnt lose more than 4 psi in one minute on a combination vehicle. snd for fandown 2 the test is to prevent a jackknife. these are important to mention in the test.
In BC, it's no more than 3psi/min loss on a tandem (one piece truck with dual rear axles), no more than 4 psi/min on a tractor/trailer combination with a 90-100 psi ("full") brake application with engine (and therefore, compressor) off. Examiners will time the full minute, and require your stated allowance.
Not just anyone can drive one of these. You need some God given ability. I bailed out after 30 hours in can training and opted for a bus license instead. Being left handed didn't help. Respect these guys when you see them on the road.
I did it (with a fully charged system) Engine off Static Applied Low air alarm Knobs set Engine on Build up Governor cut off Trailer parking brake tug test Tractor parking brake tug tes Trailer service brake tug test Roll forward and stop, checking steering wheel, and speedometer. Guy training me at my new job stopped me after 6.5 seconds and said I was doing it all wrong 'cause he thought the tug tests had to be done before the pressure tests. Guess I'm gonna ignore him and do what I'm used to 'cause it was fine...
Should be required everywhere, as this component determines whether air-brakes work, or something blows. I'm guessing even in Florida, but I'm on this ride, so Florida is redundant. Short answer is yes. The governor is a VITAL part of the air system.
You failed. You needed to release the parking brakes to ensure the entire system was charged on your initial fill to begin the test. You also released the brakes with the truck still running. Also it’s a 3 psi are loss with the brake pedal released then a 4 psi are loss test with pedal pressed.
Been driving 5 years, took off a year and I appreciate this refresher. Numbers can get blurred with the time off. Thanks.
Best air brake test!!! Simple, explained well and easy to follow. Thanks!!!
Thank you
You simplified this test. I wish you continued with the tug and roll test
sir, you told everything in a simple way. thanks for this
Great video and u put it as simple as it can be,I've learned how to perform a break test watching this video, thank you

I thought your explanation on air brakes was excellent. you broke it down, and explained in detail. Keep up the good work

This is an easy & awesome example to follow!!! Thank you for this.
Very informative, thank you. Im testing this morning and needed to listen to the verbalization of this test, and I think it helped me quite a bit.

Awesome Thanks👀👀 I test next week
You failed! You did not wear your safety belt! 🤣 thanks great video! 👏😄
You'll get failed if you don't announce how many psi of pressure tow look for when doing static and service brake check.
After that can I build the air pressure back?
Must these test be performed as part of the "pre trip inspection" daily?
Sir what is the importance of buzzer or red light in pressure gauge
Very good video
I did it (with a fully charged system)
Engine off
Static
Applied
Low air alarm
Knobs set
Engine on
Build up
Governor cut off
Trailer parking brake tug test
Tractor parking brake tug tes
Trailer service brake tug test
Roll forward and stop, checking steering wheel, and speedometer.
Guy training me at my new job stopped me after 6.5 seconds and said I was doing it all wrong 'cause he thought the tug tests had to be done before the pressure tests. Guess I'm gonna ignore him and do what I'm used to 'cause it was fine...
Why did the truck have to be in gear with the clutch depressed to do this test?
Sweet!
Is the governor cut in & out not required in Florida? (i'm in CA)

Excellent! Thanks
This is the test
thanks!
Good
thank man
in Mercedes Benz having light in pressure gauge
What happened hear alarm

thought at the end he was gonna hamer time lol...
almost died listening to this guy
How do you do this with an automatic transmission?
Park on a level surface and/or chock your wheels. Shift the transmission into neutral and follow the same steps as outlined in the video.
Chock a wheel if you drive an automatic.
Air brakes are so backwards in Murica. Move to Europe. No gauges. No pull knobs lol
