Tak!
Thanks for that Peter. Very interesting and informative. I changed from 3 x 1080p projectors to TVs because I got a bit sick of warping and the price of FlyELise software. I haven't got it all set up yet but I have 1 x 75" TV in the centre and 2 x 65" TVs at the sides. Hopefully I will be able to do something with the zoom level to keep a good, lined up image. I've had the setup since around 2018 but I have just got back after two years when I haven't touched it at all! I'm using ProSim737 but I didn't take the maintenance subscription when it was first introduced so I will have to pay around £600 if I want to use the latest version of ProSim. I'm currently on ver 2.03 so well behind. I seem to have forgotten everything to do with getting ProSim working with P3D and will have to do loads of research and ask questions on the ProSim forum. Thanks again. Regards Peter
You are absolutely spot on. After reading your comment I think I see if I can crab a cheap 75" later this year and then have the 60+65" as side views. Back when I bought FlyElise I only bought the warping software not the calibration software. So manually calibrating/warping/blending those images was a nightmare. And when I found out I had to buy a license extension for FlyElise in order to upgrade my graphics card I just gave up. That is also why I am running old hardware at this point. :-)
I've sold my3 projectors for 3 58' TV. No regrets. image quality, price, size of the room, setup and price. Plus I can play all games on them and it's not rare for me to play Elite Dangerous or DCS in a 737 🤣 Just a tip, to have all yours tv with the same image, use your phone to film yours TV in direct, you' ll be able to adjust light, contrast and more on the go as you'will better see the differences.
You are absolutely right about the size of the room. I removed my curved screen yesterday and now I got sooo much spare room. About the different brightness and color-levels, you are right and I did notice it when reviewing the video. But the center screen has some color-issues (Yellow is shown with a green tint) so I will never be able to get a perfect match. But yes, at one point I must have a go at getting colors and brightness more even.
I know you already made the switch but as an FYI, those Epson Powerlite series have manual vertical and horizontal keystone correction meaning no matter where you place the projector, each corner can be moved to fit your screen. Maybe the Powerlites you had were older models that didn't have that feature, but the ones my school district uses, (400 and 500 series which looks like what you had) have that.
I just checked. They are H453B's :-) It goes back a few years since I mounted them. But as I recall the keystone adjustment did a somewhat good job of aligning the frames. But software was still required to align the projected images. I am sure that if you got the projectors placed spot-on they would be aligned. However it still requires software to warp the image (Projected at an angle on to a curved screen vertical lines will go up and down depending on the distance to the projector). But you are right. The keystone helps a lot.
@@BuildaBoeing That's really unfortunate though that that software became subscription based. I don't know what it is about that type of software that companies love putting behind a paywall. In Xplane, if you get the $1000 professional version, you get access to a built in warping feature, but not in the base $80 Sim.
25:28 there a feller who made a C172 cockpit with screens and he used aluminium air con trunking sticky tape to bridge the bezels. It worked really well because it partly reflected the light from the screens, kind of blurry but enough to convince you. Total cost about 5 bucks. Let me see if I can find the video one sec…. Yep here you go. th-cam.com/video/7uBDG7DwcwA/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared.
Foil tape! Clever. Never thought of that. @sprint955st good find. Cheap, simple and gets the job done. I found the bezel-kits (Also shown in the video). rog.asus.com/monitors/accessories/rog-bezel-free-kit-abf01-model/ They are €125 a set where I live.

Peter, great video! I’m going with triple 85” Sony 4k 120hz TVs. BTW, where can we get your shirt? Love the logo and Color. Thanks
