Added a surefire scout light and has a fixed front sight post and a metal DD rear sight. Still not sure what optic I will marry to the setup, currently playing around w a 3x PA prism, holosun 512c, just irons and a few other things. Absolutely love this gun. Perfect SHTF rifle. I am just conflicted on whether I want a 1x or a fixed 3x, or an LPVO
Top notch as always. I always laugh at the cost complaints. The same folks waste more than $1500 on cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, and sex every year. But complain about a $1500 rifle build… just accept that it’s not your priority. And keep your complaints to yourself.
Pretty messed up clockbait to have a $3000 build as the video pic and then title it as $1500…would it be so difficult to post the video with the actual $1500 build as the header???
I built my budget AR for around $600. If I spent 1500 on it, it would be one sweet build. It's just about shopping around. An Aero Precision stripped lower is around 150, and a complete upper from Bear Creek Arsenal is around 275. It's been a solid build at the range and I get compliments on it all the time.
I always put the bulk of the build money into the barrel and bolt carrier. I pretty much always run top quality .223 Wylde barrels and Sharp's relia-bolt BCGs. PA optics are great quality. I run holosun 510Cs when I go holographic.
Ok, so here's a question about builds. Some folks talk about a "duty rated" or "battle rated" rifle, but what does that even really mean? If you use all mil-spec parts, made to the correct tolerances, using the correct materials, you have a mil-spec rifle. That, by definition, must be "duty rated" because it follows all the requirements to be issued to the military, hence mil-spec. Do I want an ambi safety? Yes. Do I want an ambi charging handle? Yes. Aside from personal preferences, am I really paying for vastly superior parts by spending more, am I paying for better QC, or am I just paying more for the hell of it? So I may pay more for a silent capture spring because I think it actually functions better than the original part. Triggers are obvious upgrades as they have objectively different pull weights, feels, etc.. But again, if everything on the rifle is properly mil-spec, there should be no real reason to say that you have anything less than a "duty rated" rifle. For me to care about a part, tell me you use a material that is stronger than the mil-spec. Tell me you made the part beefier to be more durable. Tell me you used a finish that has some clear advantage and no disadvantages over the proscribed mil-spec finish. Otherwise, mil-spec is mil-spec is good enough for duty use. Certainly good enough for weekly plinking or less.
I'm curious - if you were looking to acquire a SHTF rifle and money wasn't an object, would you be looking to have the entire rifle Mil-Spec? If say you had a rifle and you needed part replacement but your situation is reduced to scavenging for parts would it have been better for you to have a custom built or would it make no difference if you had a DDM4A1, or would that DD have parts that MUST be particular to that brand? Essentially, I want the best built rifle without being bound to any series of parts that would be hard to get. I figure that if I really want a SHTF rifle, it really should be built with that in mind, right?
the best way to know what you want to build is getting a cheap rifle and then going to competitions and modifying as you go. after a full season of that you should invest in a rifle build worth, imo about 2k. I made the mistake of buying a 1300 dollar rifle, spending 800 bucks changing it for my need in competition and then just making my own for 2500. I wish someone would have told me different.
I don't think $1,500'ish is bad. It's hard to get any of the Loptards PSA and BCA apologists to understand the unseen value of thing being made right. Because they all look alike. Personally I'd buy a Mk2 featured BCM. And add a Ambi saftey and called it good. For most people that want a duty grade rifle. It'll be more than plenty. Add a above board LPVO. And get to rockin' . I'm not in on these super duper BCG's. Most bolt failures are due to reciever flex. And premature lock times due to over gassing. Dragging brass out of the chamber is hard on the bolt assembly. I'm glad to see 3d printed flow through cans hitting the market. It'll alleviate premature wear dramatically. There's uppers like the BCM's Mk2. And thicker cut Cerro forgings like Sionics, SOLGW use that they more than likely have adopted because of their Jim Hodge affiliations. Or the Vltor MUR. Those recievers extend bolt life a lot. Running a gun that is gassed right also mitigates bolt failures as well. Not to mention most people buying a so called milspec BCG's are not getting any that are shot peened. The vast majority are not. Even some of the Microbest BCG's on the market are not shot peened. So it's buyer beware. The A5 system rules all. Mike Michalski from SOLGW has championed the VLTOR A5 system. And a lot of other people believe it's the greatest thing. Including myself. You can literally see wear patterns develop with high round count guns. And the A5 mitigates that a lot. It increases unlock times. And then slams that bolt home. Bolt bounce is gone as well. If you buy a BCM with the Mk2 you are getting all of the improvements over the standard M4 fair. I'm not shilling for BCM. It just seems like they are putting the best recipe together. For a good price. My favorite company is Sionics. I think they have awesome barrels. I'm a huge fan of 1/8 twist. And their chrome lined medium contour 1/8 twist barrels are DMR accurate. And like BCM they don't break the bank. I have their QPQ barrels as well. Again super accurate.
Great Build but if you're using a PA SLx 1x why would you need off set iron sights if the optic has etched reticles inside? I have 1 on my AR-15 with antiglare. And love it. Keep up the great job and be safe.
honestly, this whole build can be solved for much cheaper by either getting a used or find a way to make a cheaper lower with aero precision or get centurion cm4. Or buy a full-phat ar like IWI z15, an armalite, aero precision rifle or cmmg. All of those are cheap options and honestly with a red dot. Id recommend aimpoint P.R.O; it has a 10 year warranty and proven track record of reliability. Also alot of militaries and tons of law enforcement agencies buy them to issue to their peace officers for a reason. It will take a beating and still hold zero. Larue tactical also makes some really good triggerpacks that are super-customizeable and are under 120 dollars. Also has a long warranty. cmmg makes good accessory components for m-lok and same with magpul. Magpul also makes good metal sights but so does DD and they are very competitive price.
Man, that is incredible. I really wanna know about the Can because all the ones I’m looking at cost about what you paid for your whole bill really want a can

I know some people don't like PSA but, I have a psa complete lower which I installed a triggertech duty trigger. PSA complete upper w/ a FN chf chromed lined 20" barrel. I got a Sharps Xtreme Performance Bolt (XPB) Carrier Group in DLC. Scope is a Riton X3 conquer 6-24 x50. With some other small upgrades, I have around $1500 in it. Also the price of ammo has gone up quite a bit. Just a couple months ago I paid $459 for 1000rds of 62gr green tip, it is now right at $200 higher for the same 1000rds of ammo. Edit: I have 45 30rd steel and aluminum mags, so I'm good in that department.

Bro keep up the awesome work....this is my new favorite channel as a newbie to this community. You got tons of valuable info and well thought out research to back it. Appreciate it all. Even the effort on the videos. You build just like i do even if it is my first one.
I do understand you can make a budget build for 500 but that was back in 2016, as of now those budgets are aeound or close to 800-1000. Heres my "budget build" am going with a contracted upper not the URGI nut the super duty upper and a G4 lower which is in total around 1800 alone woth light and optic and ammo 2500 woth all of that. Later as i progress on in the future will sell that rifle but replace the parts such as a BCG, bolt, and barrel so this way even though its used but the new owner will know that i have done a favor for him/her and know that the previous owner did his part on this rifle, whatever i got back after i sold it will be gping with an LMT piston rifle, will do a tax stamp two tax stamp for an SBR for the 14.5 and the other fir a suppressor, id sbr my 14.5 so this was i can change the muzzle device with what i want. Also another pro for me will be batrel replacement will be easier cause i can just buy the 14.5 piston barrel from LMT. I am not a firearms collector by anymeans and will not have 40-50 firearms in my home, will have a total of three firearms, one rifle, one pistol, one shockwaves. Thats for my SHTF for thebuse of the shockwave in order to breach doors if i need to. My primary is rifle and pistol will have a sapre upper in case i get those weird shots where the round hits the rifle. Im all for the 2A this my philosophy on the 2A, cool to have 40-50 firsrms in homes and such for me thats just too much. My phlipsophy is have one rifle and one pistol platform and train it like you mean it, bring it through the ringer only way you are going to be proficient. Will only own one AK more so as a training tool, if i need to pick one up id at leadt know how to work it

Here lies my (1 & only) issue with this build.. If a guy has 1,500, the good folks at BCM will send you ALL the parts..and they'll send 'em to you arranged!
Great build but you are wrong in saying you can't build anything cheaper that you can trust your life on. I custom build ARs and 1000 is a fairly comfortable number to build super reliable and accurate rifles that will perform equally as well as that build.
let me save you some time and money, open up primary arms and add to your cart: an Anderson receiver set, Expo arms rail, the $99 one with the wedge lock has a better lock up than the midwest rail here - preferably one no more than 1-2 inches shorter than your desired barrel length, whatever expo arms BCG is cheapest, they're all OEM'd by microbest and are incredible value, A ballistic advantage Hanson barrel with a pre pinned gas block Whatever gas tube matches your hanson an Anderson Lower parts kit minus the trigger, also snag a castle nut and receiver end plate One of the following - an ALG ACT/QMS, A schmidd 2 stage, a Geissele G2S, a Larue AST a VLTOR A5 receiver extension a sprinco green M16 Spring Whatever the lightest A5 buffer you can get is, preferable an H0 as hanson barrels are actually gassed properly. Your choice of magpul/B5/BCM furniture. A milspec charging handle, make sure it's 7075 as 6061 will disintegrate in your gun. If you're feeling fancy splurge on a Breek arms warhammer or a Radian raptor LT, an A2 flash hider because you don't own a suppressor, A2s Are incredibly effective at reducing flash, cost $8 and come with a crush washer 90% of the time, at least one QD sling swivel. If you don't trust Anderson, replace all mention of them with aero precision and add $50-$100 to the end cost of the build. In either case, your end total will be less than a grand and the rifle will run whatever you need it to for as long as you're likely to need. I'd also recommend a trajectory arms pro chem kit, a torque wrench that you trust and a wheeler fat wrench. Out of the dozen or so rifles that I've out built for various buddies with some combination of those parts all still function flawlessly with the only maintenance needed being the occasional gas ring or extractor replacement. The former is expected regular maintenance for any rifle and the latter is because those guns ate steel case almost exclusively until that stuff disappeared. If you don't carry spare BCG components in your range bag you're wrong. As a final note, there are exactly two good budget options on the market for optics; the Sig Romeo 5 and the Primary arms SLX 1-6 Nova. Pick one of those two based on the length of barrel you chose.Dont forget to add in your choice of streamlight rifle light and two point sling . I'd recommend the 1000 lumen Protac HL-X which now comes with an MLOK mount and the ferro concepts slingster, both of which can be bought on primary arms when you're picking up the rest of your parts. Trash the streamlight tapeswitch and run the standard clicky cap. Follow that, and with some competent assembly, you'll have a more functional rifle than 90% of the midwits you'll meet at the range.
It's a prism scope not a red dot. It's basically like a 1x acog which means eye relief is very short it would be back farther. Not as far forward as possible.

Still not sure what optic I will marry to the setup, currently playing around w a 3x PA prism, holosun 512c, just irons and a few other things. Absolutely love this gun. Perfect SHTF rifle. I am just conflicted on whether I want a 1x or a fixed 3x, or an LPVO
i will most likely end up with a 1x eotech or aimpoint considering i do have an 18" rifle for longer range
Top notch as always. I always laugh at the cost complaints. The same folks waste more than $1500 on cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, and sex every year. But complain about a $1500 rifle build… just accept that it’s not your priority. And keep your complaints to yourself.
Based
Pretty messed up clockbait to have a $3000 build as the video pic and then title it as $1500…would it be so difficult to post the video with the actual $1500 build as the header???
I built my budget AR for around $600. If I spent 1500 on it, it would be one sweet build. It's just about shopping around.
An Aero Precision stripped lower is around 150, and a complete upper from Bear Creek Arsenal is around 275. It's been a solid build at the range and I get compliments on it all the time.
Bear creek arsenal is trash
@@aidendelpino4613 I've shot well over 1000 rounds using one of their uppers without issues. Even with some pretty crappy ammo.
150 for a stripped aero lower? Those regularly go on sale for 70, hell I got my M5 lower for 100.
Sharps bcg, gizzly super44 h1, velocity flat trig, fn barrel, Odin gas tube and block.
That mighty mustache is all we need.
I always put the bulk of the build money into the barrel and bolt carrier. I pretty much always run top quality .223 Wylde barrels and Sharp's relia-bolt BCGs. PA optics are great quality. I run holosun 510Cs when I go holographic.
throwing on airsoft replica pop-up irons would be great tbh. I personaly use them and they hold zero no problem, and its nice
Production quality is top notch
Optic if rifles doesn’t come with irons
Sling to carry and then light to identify
Mags and training
BCM upper on an Aero complete lower for like $1000 or a little more. Or a full aero build for a little less.
Liked this, you should do a couple more closer to this price range so a lot of us aren’t left out of the builds
this channel is aesthetic as hell
honestly, this whole build can be solved for much cheaper by either getting a used or find a way to make a cheaper lower with aero precision or get centurion cm4.
I really wanna know about the Can because all the ones I’m looking at cost about what you paid for your whole bill really want a can
At what point did $1,500 become considered a budget build? That price point is typically where diminishing returns start to set in.
I built mine for around $400 to $500 and I have around 1500 to 2000 rounds thru her with zero issues. Minus the one time I put a hammer spring in backwards after a deep clean lol.
Including a $45 to $50 red dot sight
I have zero interest in any guns you have reviewed so far, but your videos are sooo good that you could be reviewing pickle jars and I would still be watching. Freakin nuts man. Keep it up
how do you feel about people who hate on cassette triggers? I have been watching your channel for a while and you always recommend the trigger tech drop in triggers. I am currently running Geissele triggers on my builds.
Geissele makes a fantastic trigger!! I would absolutely run geissele. I’ve just always loved triggertech.
Solid stuff. Can you start including the ammo you use on your site for the load out? I’m genuinely curious
Will you build a bolt gun next? I’m interested to see what you would pick and throw together for the perfect bolt gun, love the videos man
Can you build a heavy barrel? There’s quite a few states where we can’t have these light weight rifles.
Ohhhhh man he’s back!!!!!!
How does it group

How many inches is the rail?
Bro keep up the awesome work....this is my new favorite channel as a newbie to this community. You got tons of valuable info and well thought out research to back it. Appreciate it all. Even the effort on the videos. You build just like i do even if it is my first one.
have you tried FCD ambi selector? If you can't find BCM, try Centurion Arms
Will only own one AK more so as a training tool, if i need to pick one up id at leadt know how to work it
does it pass the dunk test
Have you used anything from windham? Would love to see a review from you of one of their rifles!
This feels like the time I was learning how to build my PC
Really slick build with a quality budget! Thanks for putting the info together and links to discounts 🙌🏼 Now if I could only find the ammo to feed a build, I’m set haha
I just bought a sig m400 tread and i was hoping you could do a video for a good civilian buildout for getting out of domestic attack situations. thanks!
bros reccomending the most PLEB upgrades (minus the cloud and talon)
Here lies my (1 & only) issue with this build.. If a guy has 1,500, the good folks at BCM will send you ALL the parts..and they'll send 'em to you arranged!
Great build but you are wrong in saying you can't build anything cheaper that you can trust your life on. I custom build ARs and 1000 is a fairly comfortable number to build super reliable and accurate rifles that will perform equally as well as that build.
10 out of 10 you have to be one of the best there is!
I agree more time on the range is a must or dry firing to learn that weapon
@GUNMEN you forgot to mention arisaka Inline Scout Mount for the light and why u use it
YESSS!!! BEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO
i have only just scratched the surfase of the gun YT, but isn't the ammo the big expend?
Nice looking cerakote. What was the color on this build?
What kind of ammo do you stockpile?
let me save you some time and money, open up primary arms and add to your cart:
an Anderson receiver set,
Expo arms rail, the $99 one with the wedge lock has a better lock up than the midwest rail here - preferably one no more than 1-2 inches shorter than your desired barrel length,
whatever expo arms BCG is cheapest, they're all OEM'd by microbest and are incredible value,
A ballistic advantage Hanson barrel with a pre pinned gas block
Whatever gas tube matches your hanson
an Anderson Lower parts kit minus the trigger, also snag a castle nut and receiver end plate
One of the following - an ALG ACT/QMS, A schmidd 2 stage, a Geissele G2S, a Larue AST
a VLTOR A5 receiver extension
a sprinco green M16 Spring
Whatever the lightest A5 buffer you can get is, preferable an H0 as hanson barrels are actually gassed properly.
Your choice of magpul/B5/BCM furniture.
A milspec charging handle, make sure it's 7075 as 6061 will disintegrate in your gun. If you're feeling fancy splurge on a Breek arms warhammer or a Radian raptor LT,
an A2 flash hider because you don't own a suppressor, A2s Are incredibly effective at reducing flash, cost $8 and come with a crush washer 90% of the time,
at least one QD sling swivel.
Much better rifle than this hypebeast joke of a video. Those Sharps BCG's in particular are fuckin garbage.
It's a prism scope not a red dot. It's basically like a 1x acog which means eye relief is very short it would be back farther. Not as far forward as possible.
The eye relief is pretty generous with the micro prism. Eye relief is more of a magnification problem rather than a prism problem.
@@lupe_g2Their website says 3.6” for eye relief. That thing is mounted WAY too far forward.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR GUNS CAMO?? ive been wanting to get mine done for a while now but cant find the right company

Just a random thought that came to my mind watching this. Been getting into guns now for a decade and I remember people always said “buy a Colt” when getting into reliable AR15s. Do anybody even say that anymore?😂
Dude , Looken Good, perfect match camo in that high desert environment. Rifle camo looks very good. Gotta cover that bright white face with a balaclava.
What type of AR are u using
Been waiting for this!!!!!
Almost at 100k and well deserved. One of the best content here.
bro, 1500 dollars?
ok, if you want a starter rifle, buy a BCM upper(w/BCG) and get a complete aero lower. this will save you like 400 dollars, at least, and you will only be short a charging handle.
Did you watch the video?
Tacticon makes an outstanding weapon light at 1/5 the price of a surefire. They also make a robust optic and magnifier combo. Good gear doesnt have to be expensive gear.
How did you do the camouflage? please
What gun skin is that?
Where did you get the rifle skin !!
Iwi Zion with that primary arms scope, good sling, surefire g2x for the light, there you go
Nice suggestion, I have been looking at budget stuff for a while and independently settled on this exact build but with a magnifier as well
@@pth88 that’s cool man, the Iwi Zion is a bomb proof rifle and has been flawless for me, practical, durable, and reliability is better than Gucci rifles on Instagram where guys spend thousands of dollars on their rifle, take pictures of it, and then never shoot it.
