- I attempted to melt down a bunch of aluminum can tabs and pour some little muffins... I ran into a few problems along the way, but managed to figure "something" out in the end to make it work. Life is about compromise...

I had a friend who was a blacksmith and a Buck skinner he has since passed on but he made really cool little aluminum anvils about 3”x5” his nickname was anvil and he gave them out to people he thought a lot of I have one somewhere amongst my 68 years of junk and treasures would love to see you tackle that , he made wood ones for the sand casting mold
Those tins looked crazy when you put the hot metal in them. A beautiful shiny shiny ingot !! Great additions to your stack, thanks for sharing !!

How about a large “communicator” from the original Star Trek series? It would be a great aluminum-bronze piece!
Been doing forging for a couple months now and I love it. I go on Bulk Trash days and pick up.
Then I recycle scrap and other stuff I can't use and stuff the money in a safe. Got $300 in 3 months so it's not gonna get me rich 😂

"Rethinking my life choices" I got a kick out of that. I do it all the time!! You could have made sand molds for the muffin tins, but hind-sight is better than fore-sight. Regardless, I was happy to see a new video from you. Fun melt and great music! Thanks!🥰 As to the metal to melt - copper (if you can find enough). What shape - Azreal (aka the angel of death) the sythe might be difficult though. Still it would be a cool thing to have on you stack.

Hind sight is spot on. I’ll see if I can find a good model and give that a shot. I do have plenty of copper on the stack if I find that I can make it work, it wouldn’t be a bad trade off 🙂
Tries to make muffins comes out a pop tart. Anyway awesome video. Anyway next project is a long term one. A T-Rex skull or Great White Jaw made from aluminum or Zinc with Copper and Brass teeth. The Teeth can be an ongoing project instead of all at once.

Well my friend, sometimes things do not go how we plan them... but you carried on and found a solution and something else to do with the failed project. So we will call that a win overall...great video and always enjoy the good with the bad with the ugly.. That is how we learn.. trial and error.. be well and stay safe brother. Edited to add.. perhaps you should try casting some dice.. Like a D20 or D4 or D8 or a whole set of dice or perhaps cast some rune stones out of metal... or a favorite band logo (I think we talked about that once already, but my memory isn't what it used to be LOL ).
Thanks brother! I always like showing the faults when they occur and not edit them all out. We talked about band logos, I’ll work on that one of these days. Dice might be tricky with what I have, but I’m always open to try different things. 👍
Yeah, even when I started out with just zinc, it would fuse to my cookie cutters and I'd have to spend about 5-10 minutes peeling the cutters away....still ended up with a couple of good zinc "cookies" though.
Because Star Trek is my life, I would like to see you cast the Starfleet Delta.

Personally, the second those muffin tins started glowing red just from having a blowtorch passed over them id have either binned them or chucked them in with the tabs, cos im thinking they were mostly aluminium.
All I could think of is when your Reese's cups get too warm and melt and smoosh into the wrapper, and refuse to come out clean. It's slightly heartbreaking~😭😅😆

@@TheGrowingStack Not sure if you could cast them or not, but you might try to 3D print some state flags. Also could get one of those giant Hershey bars freeze it to cast it then try making a big metal candy bar. or 3D print the candy bar. Snickers and such would just look like big metal turds.

I don’t normally use flux, only if I have really dirty material or dirty brass 👍
