    Wondering what is the ladder behind, is it custom made ? Love it. Looks so great for home 🏡

      hi Marina, it's called a Stall Wall or sometimes I see it called a Swedish Ladder, and it's a super fun prop! It's a standard prop sold by many exercise and gymnastic suppliers. I use mine for rope work but it has many different uses. Maybe I'll do a video demonstrating a few of the poses I enjoy practicing with it...

    Hi Stephanie, your videos are always well described. I just have a question if I may. In Virabadrasana 1 should the feet and hips be aligned? Thank you.

    • @iyengaryogawithstephanie
      @iyengaryogawithstephanie  ปีที่แล้ว

      I work with a few different alignments in Virabhadrasana I, depending on the structure of the student. Classically, you would align the inner front foot with the inner heel of the back foot, and the idea would be for the hips to face forward. But, it will never be 100% forward as we're not built that way. For some body structures though, this alignment makes the pose very uncomfortable and may even cause lower back pain. In these cases, I allow for a little more space between the legs (for ex. if right leg is forward, just shift the right foot a little more to the right) and this makes it easier and much more comfortable to align the hips forward-facing. In an extreme scenario (or simply as an exploration ;) I'd have the back foot all the way to one side of the mat and the front foot all the way to the other. (if left leg is back, the left foot goes toward the left edge of mat, and the right to the right side of the mat). Try it! See how it feels and let me know ☺

      @@iyengaryogawithstephanie Dear Stephanie, thank you for the clarification. I also agree and feel it is right that each individual should follow his own personal alignment. I will definitely try your suggestion. Greetings Rita

    Merci, j'ai un peu de difficultés avec l'équilibre (74 ans) alors, je m'aide avec une chaise ou le mur.
