Ive played all the main titles since 98, except the crap spinoffs, most of this was pretty straightforward if you'd played them, like the viruses, his quotes are the only tricky part

Well, it seems now Capcom has made RE 3 remake for nobody.
Maybe that's why they remade it
Can't wait for a surge of reviewers who haven't played it praising everything, and completely glossing over the fact they cut out multiple endings, paths, and mercenaries.. Just like nobody lowered grade for RE2 basically cutting away half the game and a bunch of enemy types.

You know, I feel Mike's the REAL master here. Even in other quizzes, when no one thought he'd win (Red Dead Redemption, for example) he came really close to beating the others. There hasn't been a quiz in which he lost by a large margin.

No one play 3?? 3 was a success both commercially and critically, and my personal favorite..
It was the black sheep of the franchise for a good while until other worse entries shed a greater nostalgic light on it. When it was released, it was seen as “good” but also Capcom playing it safe and wasn’t as big a leap forward and paled in comparison to 2. It was suppose to be an expansion to 2 and Code Veronica was suppose to be 3(and a bit different).

re0 is the most underrated. it's the most difficult re, especially when it comes to inventory management, but that's what makes it so replayable for me. re0 and code veronica are at the top of my list because they are the most difficult 2 re games.

I would personally say that the Outbreak series was the hardest, because of inventory management and several enemies that have 1 hit insta-kills. It's definitely the hardest when you start getting up in the harder difficulties.

HOW THE HELL CAN YOU NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENS IN RESIDENT EVIL 4?
Because some of us want horror out of our Resident Evil games and so could never bring ourselves to finish (or in the case of 5 and 6, even play) the action games in the series.
Note I am not making a judgement on the quality of 4, I'm sure it's a great game in its own right, but action games don't feel like Resident Evil games to me.
Chris Allen it still had its elements of horror. It was an incredible game easily top 3 of the series
RE4 stopped being a RE for a big chunk of old players.
I remember seeing the trailers and saying to my best friend: "That's it, RE is done".

I'm finishing RE4 for the first time now and having a blast for how fun it is, but it's no Resident Evil. I was always turned off by this fact and I could never play more than the beginning chapters before. The game is great and fun as hell but it's not what you would expect of a RE at the time.
- Up until then, the humor in RE was mostly accidental,which gave it a lot of charm, in RE4 is not only on purpose, it's shoved onto your face. -The game went from a survival horror where you're conserving ammo to a game that invites you to kill waves of enemies and finish them with QTE kicks.
-The fact that you can't play around with the order of the game - previous RE's allowed you to basically get to a area and pretty much do the puzzles and progress through the are the way you preferred and found more convenient, this is specially true for spencer's mansion and the police department in 2. In 3 you had this to a certain extent, but you also had alternative paths created by the options given in certain Nemesis encounters. In RE4 you have basically a arrow in the map telling you what to do with some optional objectives along the way with chapters separating what in older RE's seems more like a big playground that you can explore and solve stuff the way you prefer.
Again, as I said before, the game is awesome and fun as hell still and deserving of all the praise, at least up until where I am in it.

thatspeachydude, I mean, if it's not your main fandom it can be kinda hard to pull virus types out of thin air from games you played in the *nineteen-nineties* (mid 2000s at best, but since Jane played Silent Hill when it first came out, I'm assuming she played Resi as they came out) and at probably a young age.
I mean I watched all of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z (dubbed because I was 9-11 and didn't know that there was any other option) and right now I can only sort of tell you the major plot points of like six arcs, and for sure I can't tell you which exact special move is who's except for Goku. I'd say I know DB and DBZ "pretty well," at least well enough to hold a competent conversation about it as a story or its flaws in writing.
I mean, hell, I know The Witcher 3 *absurdly well* but still have to check the monster manual because I can never remember that Leshens are weak to relict oil. (And for some reason I keep misremembering Harpies as not being hybrids? Somehow? I don't know why.)
So basically, if you've played the game in the last five years and are a fan of it, sure, take your lumps for not knowing better/remembering better. But if it's been like over a decade? C'mon man. (Also Jane was heavy into MMOs and physics so what do you think all spare processing power went into? Memorizing raid boss patterns in WoW and complex linear algebra. 😛)

Back in uni we had to do a mock-research grant application for communications class, and I really didn't want to do it. I procrastinated, until at the last moment I just penned a carefully worded application for the government to fund my Progenitor-virus research. All of the applications were then looked over by the professor, and a venerable jury of our fellow students, and then the best one was "accepted", and the author's research was funded with a bar of chocolate. I'm not sure if anyone in class could tell mine was essentially a piece of Resident Evil fanfiction, but everyone really seemed to like it anyway. I walked home with a chocolate bar. The research is still ongoing.

Technically speaking, Barry only shows up with a flamethrower if you went into the fight without Vjolt. Barry dying early game also further complicates things. It's one of those points in the series where what happens depends on not only the character that you're playing, but also how you played through the game.
Although in the HD remake, I'm pretty sure they reversed this, making it so Barry saves you if you make the Vjolt, and you have to fight the boss if you don't make the Vjolt. Why would they do this? Who knows. But there are still multiple things that could happen.

The ghost in the demo isn't Mia, it’s actually a blend of the concept design for Zoe mixed with Mia's head (but the demo isn’t canon, the tape you play in the main game is and there’s no ghost in that one)

I hope they include the ink-ribbon save system in the RE:2 remake. ...imagine that; no auto save.
I kind of agree. RE7 had autosaves and many saves as you wanted on Easy/Normal, but on Madhouse you'd only be able to save with limited casettes (except for change of locations, there are a few autosaves then). Something similar with ink-ribbons in RE2 RM would be great.

I believe it does but only on the harder difficulties.
It wouldn't really be much of a remake if they changed that. I loved the ink ribbon system, it really made you think and plan ahead. You could save before a boss in case you die, or after so you never have to do it again. Limited saves makes you more tense and anxious, and makes the game more of a survival horror game. You know, the genre Resident Evil used to be before it became a third person shooter with horror aspects. It really bothered me that they ever changed that system in the first place.

Besides it was one of the most revolutionary game at his time and redefine the genre, and one of the best RE, not close to be my favorite though

"Everyone who expected survival horror game" sorry but at that time RE formula felt so overused and it start's to feel outdated, just look what they tried in RE 0 and it's item system, fan's were bored and loss interest in the franchise, RE needed a change, a new take, an that's what Mikami did amazingly, say all what you want, but RE4 is one of the greatest game's of all time and an awesome RE, like i said, not my favourite, but it's the truth

Never played most RE games. I know 4 and 2 well at this point. But I’ve beaten 5 a bunch and 6 a couple times even. Still love RE lore tbh.

As a resident 5 fan I love that they put the Wesker saying he's a god voiceline and the wheat one with gameplay I was happy people actually play resident evil 5

Camera shot question was worded improperly. You can't angle the fixed camera shots, just the firing trajectory of the character.
So now I know: when Jane finally takes over the world, my best chance for survival is to bribe her with gold stars! "Yes, you crushed those enemies _excellently!_ Have another gold star!" ☺
Ok, I laughed pretty Damn hard at some of Jane's expressions when she was clearly thinking " Don't care, just give me the damn star" LOL
