- The models of some characters and other assets have been reused from The Last of Us Part II.
- The Last of Us Part I recreates reflections using SSR, cubemaps or planar reflections. There is no presence of any kind of Ray-Tracing in this remake.
- The most radical changes are in textures, geometry and lighting.
- Improved AI and animations make combat a more satisfying, but conservative experience. Most of the features added in Part II (dodging, crawling, etc) are not present.
- I'm preparing another comparison that compares in depth all aspects of the remake with respect to the original game.
- Fidelity mode adds considerable input lag. On the other hand, the vsync causes the game to not feel fluid at all (exactly like Demon's Souls Remake). I recommend the 1440p/60fps mode.
- With a 120Hz TV, the Fidelity mode locks its framerate down to 40fps. This mode has some irregularities in its performance.
- If you have a VRR-compatible display, we can activate it in Performance mode to get a variable rate ranging from 60 to 90fps.
- Loading times are slower on PS5 compared to PS4, but reasonable considering the visual improvements. In any case, these load times are much faster than on PS3.
- As a curiosity and personal opinion, I do not usually use the Dualsense adaptive triggers, but in this game its application seemed to me quite successful.
- Absence of Multiplayer. Let's hope that The Last of Us Factions justifies this lack. On the other hand, new difficulty modes have been added and some gameplay modifiers that will be analyzed in another video.
- Considering that on a visual level it is on par with The Last of Us Part II, this remake could have been possible on PS4.

PS3 is the most impressive.
Impressive meaning that it’s a surprise a game like that ran so well on that old platform, but then again, Ghost of Tsushima was also super impressive game on PS4.
What I’m saying is that SONY’s last exclusive game on a platform is usually so impressive it holds its own on the next generation.

It makes sense that ps3 could catch up to that generation so easily, it was a very expensive hardware to its time, so it was almost like a mistake from Sony. Being expensive is not the point of a console. Xbox 360 only had its turn because a ps3 was too expensive, so many people preferred to buy the Xbox 360.
The folks at Naughy Dog are amazing. They squeeze every last bit they can out of the hardware

As crazy as it might sound, to me the PS3 version is still the most impressive, specially because it was running on just 256mb of VRAM DDR3 and still looks amazing to this day.
The PS3 had a beast of a hardware.

La verdad es bastante alta la calidad del desarrollador, para todo aquel que jamás jugó el de PS3 o el remaster de PS4 o apenas es su primera consola de Sony es una compra obligada, solo recomendaría esperar, ya que aún siendo un remake de un juego que ya se veía espectacular en PS4 siento que el precio completo es muy alto. It's nice to finally see one of these videos where there actually is a difference between the 2 and not just slight frame rate or quality. Having played both the PS3 and PS4 versions I still wouldn't pay €70 for the PS5 version as it's still the same game with a fresh coat of paint but I can at least see a lot of work has been done on it. Loading time on PS5 while quick could be a bit quicker since it's meant to boast super fast loading times. Still pretty fast though and I get it's loading waaaaay more higher quality content than the older versions
I haven't watch the full video yet but I wonder if there is a quick resume thing as in when you quit the game you can instantly go back to where you where and skip the startup screen. Some PS5 games have this and others don't. Seems to be developer optional
1 year after luckily you can buy it at a 40-45 dollar price, way better than the 70-80 of last year

La versión de PS3 fue tan pero tan God que a día de hoy aún sigue viéndose fascinante, ni me quiero imaginar por el trabajo arduo por lo que tuvieron que trabajar sus en desarollodores en esos momentos, en cuanto a la versión de PS5 simple y sencillamente dió un salto enorme y mejor lo que creíamos que era inmejorable.

People believe that the PS4 is completely outdated and therefore not capable of handling advanced graphics. While the PS5 is able to handle more, the PS4 still holds up well.

The remake is beautiful and the remaster is not bad at all (it's rare to see games at 60fps on the base PS4 and native 4K on the PS4 Pro), but can we talk about how the PS3 version remains impressive for the hardware to this day?
It still amazes me how they managed this with the PS3, I would even say it's prettier than some early PS4 and Xbox One games.
For sure it is. In the same sense I think Part 2 (which came out on PS4) looks better than a lot of PS5 games - maybe not from a technical standpoint, but just in terms of overall realism, level of detail, etc. Naughty Dog knocks it out of the park every time.
Night and day playing on next gen Performance mode. This game is just absolutely beautiful. I appreciate the work has been done on the Remake. It made an amazing game even more amazing. Was it necessary? Absolutely not. But I’m thoroughly enjoying the game.

Probé de nuevo mi ps3 viejo hace unas semanas, y el TLOU se ve y funciona bastante bien, lástima que el multijugador es un desierto, horas de francotirador me las pasé ahí en mi pubertad.

The difference in visuals between PS5 Fidelity and Performance is a lot larger than I would have expected.
The only difference is resolution 1440p performance and native 4k fidelity
i dont see the point in fidelity modes on ps5, they are all virtually unplayable

Ps3 la verdad sorprende lo bien que se ve a pesar de ser de "vieja generación" siendo sinceros también pienso lo mismo que analista, veo este remake posible en ps4 , siento que ps5 todavía no mostró músculo gráfico real porque no lo hicieron o por limitaciónes técnicas de la consola, analista de bits siempre impecable¡

Looks fookin stunning in comparison to the already decent-looking PS4 remaster. There's been tons of complete reworking. Definitely the best way to experience TLOU by far. Can't wait to play it at some point 😁

@@TheAlanmoreno Si, pero si no incluyeron las mecanicas de esquiva en el primero es porque no daba para mas la consola, en el 2 la esquiva es magia negra incluso para una Ps4..
Para mi gusto si debieron meterlo, la de veces que he necesitado esquivar porque se te echan encima en el 1 🤣. Quiza el tema arrastrarse no, porque el diseño de escenarios no esta pensado para arrastrarse, no tendría sentido meterlo, aportaria 0, pero esquivar hubiera quedado de la leche y no veo ningun motivo para no meterlo. Si quieres las mecanicas del original, ya tienes el original, que lo puedes jugar en Ps5 sin problema. Es el gran fallo que le veo a este remake.
Te sigo desde hace mas de un año y siempre dices tu opinión imparcial y personal, honestamente nadie dice lo que pones al final en la descripción del video, este remake pudo ser posible ps4, esta tal vez no hubiera podido con la destrucción del escenario como se muestra en ps5, pero fuera de eso como bien mencionas es basicamente tlou hecho con las herramientas del part 2, la IA no sorprende mas que la del anterior juego de ND, donde decían su nombre al morir y creaban tácticas para arrinconar a tu personaje, la mayoria del "medio especializado" solo alaba la diferencia con respecto al titulo original, pero nadie dice que tanto mejora con respecto al anterior titulo de la saga, te deseo la mejor de las suertes amigo, sigue creciendo.

Para el que nunca lo llegó a jugar podría ser buena adquisición, yo ya lo jugué en ps3 y no lo volvería a jugar ni estando gratis (literalmente, tengo una switch desbloqueada y casi no juego a nada, actualmente estoy jugando tlou2 de ps4, la 1ra vez que juego)
Yo lo jugué en ps3 y lo completé como unas 3 veces, luego cuando tuve mi ps4 lo jugué unas 5 veces, ahora pienso comprarlo para pc

When I was young there was a game that have so many editions that added nothing, however people still buy it, I think it was called skyrim

I'm not sure if "demand" is the right word. The remaster is still available for those who feel it provides a better value. It's nice to be able to choose between one version that is inexpensive, and another version that is gorgeous, depending on your preference.

8K isn't happening without DLSS or FSR. 4K however should be very possible on some GPUs depending on who you fiddle with settings

Para ser un juego que sale en una sola consola (y posteriormente tendrá un port en pc) y dice aprovechar a full las capacidades de la misma, la optimización se queda un poco corta en mi opinión.

@@frankiman6977 A ver, eso es obvio, no se conoce bien el software y hardware, si no compara x ejemplo el Uncharted 4 con el TLOU2, una diferencia abismal y los 2 se juegan en la misma consola al mismo framerate

I just cancelled my preorder, It looks beautiful but the gameplay Is the same as the original. They missed the opportunity to add TLOU PII moves (Dodge and crawl)
Eh, but they would have to redesign the levels and enemy placement for it to work.
And make the game alot easier for enemies and maps that aren’t designed for it

But the crawling would be useless. The areas in the game aren't design for crawling to be useful. The areas are much more linear, no space for grass or anything else. The dodging would be nice though.

Are you guys sure you were running a base PS4 for that loading time test? Or one with an SSD added?
If it was running off an SSD they would of said so. Also adding an SSD doesn't always massively decrease load times, nor are they getting close to PS5 loading times in most circumstance.
What's happening here is likely the game isn't optimized loading wise. A good example is FF15 on PC with an SSD. That game still takes an eternity to load even with an SSD

La verdad en Ps5 la iluminación no me gustó, tiene ese efecto matrix que no me convence, como muy frio, siento que en las versiones anteriores la iluminación tenía algo especial tanto en la mañana, tarde y noche según mi punto de vista.
X2, la paleta de colores en el de PS5 se ve más apagada.
Porque es mas realista en ese sentido
igual de fria al del dos, por mas realista que fuera debieron mantener esa atmosfera que daba el de ps3

La diferencia grafica es brutal, un apartado tecnico y artistico que pocos estudios pueden llegar alcanzar, un gran trabajo la verdad y con respecto al precio bueno es lo que es algunos se lo pueden permitir otros no y esperaran que este de oferta, generalmente no tardan mucho en bajar quizas a finales de año ya tendra descuento pero sin duda es un remake 10/10 y a nivel de historia mucho más.
No, no hay diferencia gráfica brutal cuando un juego de PS5 se ve como uno de PS4 (TLOU2).
Si quieres ver diferencia BRUTAL, mira el remake del Demon's Souls de PS3 a PS5.

@@valrond Esto es como decir que el primer juego de una PS3 no tubo un cambio BRUTAL al ultimo juego lanzado para la consola. La diferencia grafica entre por ejemplo, el Knack (primero juego de PS4) y The Last Of US part 2 es BRUTAL.
