Both look insanely good. But considering how harder it is to create those levels of visuals in a huge, seamless open world, compared to linear games with different sections of maps, RDR2 is clearly the superior one.
R* has always been on the cutting edge graphics wise, and the game was made by 2,000 people over 7 years. Those snow physics? Tessellation. Your footsteps dragging through Valentine? Tessellation. Falling in mud and leaving behind an imprint? Tessellation. Usually those things are handled by textures, 3D objects or aren’t even addressed but it’s everywhere in RDR2, and it’s well optimized. Not to mention everything else and the size of its world it’s insane. It’s truly what Next-Gen games should be or strive to be, but they still haven’t.

there are people like me that prefer a story driven game that is rather liniear. I played my fair share of open world games and they are just too big and run out of steam at some point. Not everyone has to like open world you know.
my personal answers with my responses: snow physics: rdr2 - the snow is more 3D. horse details: rdr2 - you can see the horse muscles move individually. water effects: tlou - both are good, but rdr2 feels like its trying to make shooting water seem peaceful and calm. ( if that makes sense ) fire spreads: rdr2 - obviously more realistic. face details: tlou - if you look at the ear of Arthur, it looks like there's sharp turns, low poly if you will. as for the gun aiming, joel looks for tensed, while arthur feels more relaxed. textures: tlou/rdr2 - the grass feels more immersive, while rdr2, the bricks seem more realistic. swimming: tlou - feels more physical and rough. archery: tlou - weapon feels more real in tlou, the arrows actually break sometimes, while in rdr2 it feels more for fun and enjoyment. takedowns: tlou - struggle feels more real and time consuming, making you feel like you're vulnerable. glass: tlou - feels a bit more real when breaking, less fragile if that makes sense, the screen shakes when you break it, giving a more physical feel. rain: rdr2 - feels more alive with the animals in the background. also frogs make more noise in the rain. ladder: tlou - feels like Joel takes his time to make sure he steps on the step and doesn't fall. world: tlou/rdr2 - from a open world point of view, oh definitely rdr2, it has so much to do and to accomplish. from a not so open world, tlou, it feels more like you have to follow a set path, and doesn't have much replay time, unless you want to 100% tlou. i like both in their own respective ways, and if i had to chose, id chose both, i cannot personally chose one. please feel free to tell me your opinion. im curious.

Rdr2 is going to be the most detailed and graphically impressive game on the market until it is dethroned by Rockstar themselves when they release GTA 6
Fanboys comparing and arguing on which one is better, yall should just appreciate both amazing games, there aren't many games out there with this much passion and detail put into them.
The Last of Us is a more modern game and generally has better graphics. However, when it comes to features and details, it's hard to beat Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar paid a lot of attention to the game's development, which set it apart from most other game developers.
In general I like more lighting, contrast, brightness and Bloom in tlou, they are much more comfortable to the eye, although keep in mind that it is not the same to compare a game from 2010 to 2015 than a game from 2018 to 2022, the graphic difference will be less and less noticeable.
Plus RDR2 is very moddable in terms of it's visual presentation so you could easily adjust all those aspects with various mods and reshade presets (on PC of course).
é uma judiação não ter saido 60fps para PS5 e xsx. Estava esperando uma versão melhorada para curtir este game, no PS4 achei insuportável os 30fps, cansa de mais a vista.
It's silly to compare the two because The Last of Us was built for storytelling and Red Dead Redemtion 2 has an open world to explore. It is obvious that in an open world with good elaboration, even small details are important.
RDR2 is simply the better game. Even in the next 5 years, no game (except GTA 6) will be as detailed and realistic as RDR2 except in graphics. Games only focus on graphics but graphics barely makes a small fraction of a game.
@@rukitlas7130 so? Literally means they had more time and space to add more details and textures, not the opposite, rdr2s map is WAY bigger, it's WAY WAY harder to fill something like that with details like the glass breaking tlau has.

I really appreciate how gamers, who have commented on this video, like exploring a huge map of a beautiful game like RDR2, despite the game having zero gameplay and a shallow story. RDR2 looks amazing and I like hunting in it a lot.
Both are incredibly impressive and the peak standard every developer should strive for, but once you get to gameplay The Last of Us is leagues above rdr2. Rockstar needs to step their game up in this area for their next installment.
Because it does. It has higher res textures, better looking water and effects, better quality character models, higher density vegetation and so on. Its a 6 year difference.

@@Shutupsitdownrelax well I’m not gonna say that it’s obvious, but the graphics are much better than RDR2. Character models, textures, lighting, etc are all noticeably better. I also think that the animations are a little bit more realistic in TLOUp1 with things like swimming, so in that regard i think TLOU part 1 wins.
@@Gryphondork.the textures are very high resolution in both games lighting is much better on rdr2 the character models are a bit better on tlou and about the animations rdr2 is a game focused more on realism that's why some of the animations like running, swimming etc might look a bit off when you compare it to non realistic ones like tlou not to mention rdr2 is a MUCH bigger game than tlou since it is open world whereas tlou is linear hence it also has much more going on and they still managed to keep it on par with games released in 2022 4 years after it was released
@@Shutupsitdownrelax I’m not saying that TLOUp1 is better then RDR2. Im just implying that TLOUp1 has better graphics. There are a lot of things that RDR2 does better than TLOUp1 when it comes to the amount of detail that RDR2 has, but you can’t honestly say that RDR2 is focused more on realism and say it just looks off when the swimming and running animations are clearly and obviously not as realistic then TLOUp1. I know its just your opinion, but it’s pretty obvious you’re just sugarcoating things that the last of us does better and not actually looking at it critically or unbiased. How can you say that RDR2 focuses more on realism if the animations aren’t as good as a game that ALSO FOCUES on realism just as much if not more than RDR2. my personal answers with my responses:
snow physics: rdr2 - the snow is more 3D.
horse details: rdr2 - you can see the horse muscles move individually.
water effects: tlou - both are good, but rdr2 feels like its trying to make shooting water seem peaceful and calm. ( if that makes sense )
fire spreads: rdr2 - obviously more realistic.
face details: tlou - if you look at the ear of Arthur, it looks like there's sharp turns, low poly if you will. as for the gun aiming, joel looks for tensed, while arthur feels more relaxed.
textures: tlou/rdr2 - the grass feels more immersive, while rdr2, the bricks seem more realistic.
swimming: tlou - feels more physical and rough.
archery: tlou - weapon feels more real in tlou, the arrows actually break sometimes, while in rdr2 it feels more for fun and enjoyment.
takedowns: tlou - struggle feels more real and time consuming, making you feel like you're vulnerable.
glass: tlou - feels a bit more real when breaking, less fragile if that makes sense, the screen shakes when you break it, giving a more physical feel.
rain: rdr2 - feels more alive with the animals in the background. also frogs make more noise in the rain.
ladder: tlou - feels like Joel takes his time to make sure he steps on the step and doesn't fall.
world: tlou/rdr2 - from a open world point of view, oh definitely rdr2, it has so much to do and to accomplish. from a not so open world, tlou, it feels more like you have to follow a set path, and doesn't have much replay time, unless you want to 100% tlou.
i like both in their own respective ways, and if i had to chose, id chose both, i cannot personally chose one.

"The details of the glass are also better developed in The Last of Us compared to Red Dead Redemption 2."
