In 2005 I sold my SRX-02 and bought the SRX-11. It's a massive upgrade to the stock RD-700 sound. Such an old keyboard and I still consider this the best setup for jazz piano on a keyboard.
@@musicaldracula2017 I played an RD-800 a few times and didn't seem to think there was much or any improvement over this setup for the piano sound. What I am curious about is if the RD-2000 is an improvement. I've done recording sessions on the V-piano and thought it was really good for an electronic keyboard. Apparently the RD-2000 has the V-piano technology.
@@shiggins9 To make the long story short, RD-800 sounds boxier and compressed comparing RD700 series. I also feel a bit negative about it because it was the first RD piano that was not made in Japan. I feel the same compression nature on RD-88 also. RD-2000 definitely has better piano sounds comparing all RDs before it, however, I gather that its V-piano technology is not the same level as on original V-piano so V-piano itself is still unique to me. I know it is not a stage piano but I advise checking FP-90X, whose piano sounds have been the best to date among Roland portable pianos I think. Roland may release its RD variant in due course.. The bottom line is that I still have both SRX cards and keeping them...
Thank you for your compliment and yes indeed... :) I have a Yamaha P80 and it sounds better than Motif ES. For Yamaha piano sound, higher end CLP, CP or P series to go :)
I have both of those expansion boards and a Motif ES6. I wanted to like those boards so much, but the A1 piano sound on the Motif (FullGrand) beats them both and it's such an awesome acoustic piano sound. I do like the A1 piano sound on my Motif XS6 even better. The A1 piano sound on the Motif XS seems like more of a cocktail piano sound, but it is better and clearer than the A1 on the Motif ES. They are both outstanding acoustic piano sounds though. I also love acoustic piano sounds in Yamaha's digital pianos (I have the P-70)... On all these that I mentioned, all 88 keys sound exactly like a real piano. The Motif XS A1 piano sound with headphones on is soooo good !!!
I used to like the Yamaha MOX8 piano sound (must be the same as Motif XS), until I used the MOX keyboard to play the grand piano on XLN Audio's Addictive Keys VST, that blew it away... Funny that I now use a Studiologic SL controller to play the SRX-11 and love it, even though it's got a less sophisticated sampling technology. The SRX-11 piano was just sampled in an awesome way.
It really depends on the individual seller as it is not a new item but it is highly likely that you should be paying more than 100 Euro/110 USD. If it has its box and sticker, expect to pay more...
@@patriciojesuscarrascomonte957 Don't know the video question, but I finally bought the srx-11 for my E-80 and sounds very realistic. I only use one patch.
You may not need to add SRX-11 to Fantom X because their tones are quite similar, SRX is better due to extra layer and fidelity, though. However, SRX-02 has different piano tone and wise to add it to Fantom X if you like Fazioli piano. If you have previous Fantom or XV series, then wise to add both SRX cards. I prefer SRX-02 since it is better for classical music. Others may prefer SRX-11 because it is a kinda all rounder leaning more to Pop music. Technically, velocity transitions and sustain behaviour seem to be better constructed on SRX-11. I wish Roland would have released an updated SRX-02 board after SRX-11. In the end, both are really great boards.

Yes Sean, I believe that RD700-SRX11 combo still sounds great. Thank you for your feedback :) Cheers

@@musicaldracula2017 I'm also keeping my RD-700 / SRX-11. I may look for a deal on an RD-2000 but I'm in no rush.
I had an SRX 02 just sold it on eBay and purchased an SRX 11. Should be at my doorstep in a couple of weeks
Thanks for this great overview!

Is it worth getting the SRX-02 today? I have the SRX-11 in my Fantom X8 still 😉

My setup, but I don't remember the piano sounding THIS great! Is this Complete Piano SRX-02 or Classic Piano SRX-11 at 0:00?
I first played SRX-11 presets. Please turn on subtitle :)

Can you write the sound presets order for this video? Which do hear we and where, which card exactly? Thanks!
Hi there.
I was playing in order actually and the preset locations were also given.
Please turn on subtitle.
Thanks.
All right! Thanks! 👍

Do the boards respond to "half damping" or is it just on/off sustain?
Hi there. No half pedal samples, only on/off response for pedal.
How can Know when is srx-02 or srx-11?
Hi Jose. Please turn on the subtitle so as to see the patch names. I did play SRX-11 first. Cheers

The 11 is better. I just got an XV5080 and am looking to max it out with SRX cards. The 11 will definitely be one of them
