Just a great video and overview George. Saved me $120 by not upgrading this year. I agree with you that I don't see a lot of value in Elements 2024. Thank you for taking the time to create this overview. Your classes are great.
Due to eyesight issues, I like the bigger icons in PSE and I would use both light and dark depending on what I do, but the dark side is easier for me to see at this time.
Personally I don’t like the lack of color. I have poor vision even with glasses, and the color helps me to be able to identify the tools easier, it to mention the size of all the icons being smaller is definitively an issue for me. I would not update to this. I really like some of the new features but I am still using version 15 and it works for me. Would love to have some of these new features but gosh at my age it’s so hard to relearn the program when they change where everything is located. I really enjoyed your preview, thanks for sharing.
Hi Gail! Thanks for your feedback. The icons are still all in the same position. A lot of the beta testing team did mention the contrast issues. The icons in Photoshop Elements are the same size as previous versions if that is any consolation. Thanks for your feedback - I’ll definitely pass it on to Adobe for the next version.
@@Digitalscrapbookinghq thank you! I like color! It helps a lot if you are a visual learner and have bad vision as well! I would love that background remover so I will consider in the distant future.
"Colour Match" is the re-introduction that has persuaded me to purchase the upgrade. It used to be in Elements years ago and I have desperately missed it!
Ooo how many times have I lost an empty text layer? The ‘lorem’ but is a great addition! This video is fantastic, thanks so much for this thorough run through of the updates 😊
Do you have beginner shows for photoshop 2024. I have never used it before and I don't know what all the buttons do or how to use them? You hop from item to item so fast.
Yes! The new features video does go pretty quickly! I’ve got my beginner’s class here www.digitalscrapbookinghq.com/gsds Or you might like my ABCs of PSE video series th-cam.com/channels/wduwOPeyoN1_NktSfjLb8g.html
In previous versions, I would bring a 6x4 photo into the photo bin, and then and 8x10 transparent one, and then I could put the 6x4 wherever I wanted to, and then bring in a duplicate one, and align them on the 8x10 so as to make the most of the space.....2 - 6x4s photos on a 8x10 transparent. Now, the first 6x4 aligns in the middle and I can't do anything else. Is there something else I need to do to be able to move the photos? Thanks
I just tried creating two photos as you described, I can definitely move them around and resize etc. Are you dragging up from the photo bin? Do you have the move tool selected (press V)? Let me know if you are still have issues.
Question related to not only photo editing but drawing: Does its performance change much in comparison to the older versions of Photoshop Elements? I've been looking for an upgrade for a while now and searching for something I can both edit photos *AND* draw on.
Drawing performance on a new computer is better in newer computer. If your PC is older you may not see much improvement. I use my Wacom all the time and it works well in PSE2024. Hope that helps!
@@Digitalscrapbookinghq I'm currently using the free trial and it works great, the only issue I'm having so far is it lagging here and there and overall acting a bit slow, but it could be indeed because of my PC (8 years old). Planning to get a new one, soon. After purchasing Adobe Photoshop Elements, I will not face any problems removing it from the old PC I own now, and installing on a new PC once I get it, correct? I'll be able to do that without having to purchase it again?
@@Sapphiresenthiss yes you can just install in it on your new computer and it will be fine :) I generally wouldn't recommned Installing brand new foster on an 8yo computer, because it will be quite slow, but you'll find it super speed on the new PC I'm sure!
This video is great, thanks for showing Photoshop Elements version 2024. I think I'm going to use the dark mode because it's more professional and it looks like its "big brother" Photoshop. I had tried version 2023 but I was wondering why there was no dark mode there... Fortunately it's here now. I hope it gets released soon on the Microsoft Store that now is still with version 2023.
Any idea why my video plays just fine, but when rendered it gets a green and purple lined filled haze over the video and the audio tracks are all that play? Video will not play once rendered... plays fine while editing.
This is usually resolved by updated your video card's driver from the AMD or nVidia web site. In Elements you can turn off Hardware acceleration in the Preferences. Also you can start an online chat session from the Help menu and get Adobe tech support. I hope this helps!
Yes, it does add colour, but only one hue unfortunately. You'll want to try the Quick action Color B&W photo to add multiple colors. Then you could use color match on the resulting image.
Hi, thanks for a great video. I have a new MacBook Air with the M3 chip and was trying to find out how I stop the window from resizing when I am zooming in and out - on floating windows. Tried doing a search about this but have be unable to find a way to stop it. I like to have my window larger than my photo. Thanks for any help with this.
It has been 6 months since this video was made. Has Adobe fixed many of the bugs/issues that were in the version at the time of this recording? I am considering to upgrade from Elements 2021. Would really like the Dark mode.
There’s been a couple of updates. Which issues did you hope were fixed. There’s a bug in the save for Web dialog that hasn’t been fixed yet, but I can’t remember any others!

@@Digitalscrapbookinghq Oh I thank you for that. My mistake when I was in qick mode was I did not select a photo in quick Action lol, Thats how new I am at using photoshop Elements lol.
I will use the light mode because dark mode seems harder for me to see. But, it’s nice to have a choice! One question, what kind of license comes with the Adobe Stock photos? Can we create something and use it commercially?
You can see the licensing terms here: stock.adobe.com/au/license-terms but basically you can use it for commericially as long as you don't redistribute the original file.

I've already reset all tools to default settings, but that didn't help. Can you please tell me what can be done about this? Best regards from Berlin, Armand
@@Digitalscrapbookinghq Hello Melissa, yes, it's about Photoshop 24. I found it myself. Since then, I've been sleeping much better. Under settings, Display & Cursor, you'll find the brush tip at full size. In any case, I thank you for your response.Greetings from Berlin!

Yes, that is unfortunate. The reasoning is that this product is for consumers, so 16 bit isn't necessary. However, RAW files are handled in Adobe Camera RAW which is the same for PSE and PS!

Floating windows work this way on a Mac. You will need to go to docked windows to be able to see outside the photo.

You just type your own text in. That’s “Lorem Ipsum” generic text to help you not lose your text box.
A lot better as I can recall with Elements 2020 when entering some text and actually hunting for it on the photo. Usually came out absolutely tiny!
