As soon as I saw Elements 2024 was released I came to your channel to see if it is worth the upgrade price. As much as I want to support the development of the product, I'll skip this version and hope they introduce worthwhile improvements to the next one. Moving to smaller, grey scale icons doesn't make any sense to me. Thank you, George, for your great assessment!
In your "What's new" video at 16:00 you mention adding a reset button. I've been using Ctrl-Z to back out of any changes I've made so I've never given a reset a second thought. Works every time. Your videos have been a big help. Great job!
After some more experimentation I found that the rest button is there if the interface is set to the Basic workspace, and not there if set to Custom workspace. So the missing reset button is an error that I expect Adobe will fix in the next release. The reason why I like reset buttons is that it can take you back several steps in just one click, ctrl+z only goes back one step.
George, thanks for highlighting the new features added to PSE 2024. You are the best. I upgraded immediately as my Mac OS Sonoma & PSE 2022 were not compatible. Interestingly the PSE 2024 Mac version still has the layers, effects, filters, etc tabs in the traditional bottom right corner & the color match effects has a reset button. Slight differences from what you pointed out with your PC version review. Also, completely agree the new colorless interface is not an upgrade but done to accommodate dark mode.
You're welcome John. I am sure that by 2025 the buttons will have become tabs in the Mac version. No idea why Windows doesn't have a reset button, that one is a obvious feature need. Maybe Adobe will fix that in the Spring mini update.
Might have to get this upgrade. As my 2021 version won’t open my Fuji X-T5 raw files. Usually not an issue (had the same problem with my Nikon Z6ii before I went all in with Fuji) as I mostly shoot jpegs, but every now and then being able to use the raw file would be helpful.
2024 has the latest Camera Raw from Adobe and they usually update that again in the Spring, you can find that update button at the bottom of the Help menu, give that a try first.
Hello I have just purchased my first Adobe Elements 2024. Looking forward to learning it's features. Personally I find the light version easier on my eyes than the dark version. I do have eye issues though that is more than needing eye glasses.
I'm a bit of a simpleton. I still use Elements 2022. Only use it for cropping, cleaning, sharpening, removing shake/blur, and removing haze. And sometimes resize and fix a pixelated photo. And lastly, once in a blue moon replace or fix a background. I don't see anything in the 2024 version that would improve my process or any substantial improvements to these existing processes, I am just an amateur, and stick with auto modes, on my Canon 80D. I'm retired and 78 yr. old. I’m a retired Senior Systems Analyst over Servers for a large corporation. Take Family, Nature, and Special Olympics Sports and Events. I have been using Premiere a lot lately to create videos of old digitized videos and to make TH-cam videos for family and friends. It is kind of fun and a bit of a learning curve. I have amassed on my PC over 338,000 photos for Special Olympics and over 240,000 photos for personal and family.
For most people I recommend upgrading every 3-5 years. PSE doesn't change that much between versions. That pace should be often enough to keep up with basic changes to the operating system. Only reason to upgrade more often is if a new version has a new feature that you want.
Thank you George for the update on PSE 2024. The Black Screen certainly has me interested, due to eyesight problems. Will have another "run thru" the tut. Appreciate the time you so willing give here.
You're welcome Peggy! The dark mode makes PSE look like Adobe Photoshop and is a useful mode for photographers. I like the dark mode, but I don't like the change in the tools icons. So I am split on that one.
Ctrl Z just sets things back one step, it is the same as clicking Undo in the Edit menu. If you have been doing a lot of changes you would need to use Ctrl Z several times to get all the way back. Must easier if there was a reset button like there is in many of the PSE tools.
I have an EXTREMELY old version (2.0). It still works on my Windows 10, but I am concerned that it may not work on 11. Do you have a recommendation of a version to upgrade to since I will probably soon have to go to 11?
This is specifically for 2024, earlier versions didn't have a dark mode. if you have 2024 then to go the edit menu, click on Preferences and you will see the option in the upper left.
Hi George, Thanks for the good summary of the "improvements" in PSE 2024. For yet another year, I am underwhelmed by what Adobe have added to the app. As an aside, I also use Luminar Neo and with Neo there seems to be a fairly constant stream of significant and useful new features coming out all the time. It seems to me that PSE is just falling further and further behind. However, I certainly thank you for your excellent videos, helping us keep up to date with what is happening. Cheers 🙂
Adobe really doesn't care about PSE. A couple of years ago they put in nag screens throughout the program trying to get people to switch over to Adobe Photoshop. At least they dropped that bad idea. Adobe is very good at keeping old programs going long after they lose interest. They kept Freehand going for almost a decade, and PageMaker hung on almost forever even after it was replaced by InDesign. At some point I expect that Adobe will drop PSE in favor of Photoshop. I would personally like to see a program somewhere between these two, more feature rich than PSE yet not as top heavy as Photoshop.
@@HTGPhoto Hi George. Thanks for your comments. I suspect what you said about Adobe and PSE is dead right. Adobe obviously aren't supporting PSE seriously. From my point of view, there haven't been any really worthwhile new features in the past 4 or 5 years! Cheers 🙂
I'm considering changing from Photoshop CS6 to Photoshop Elements 2024. I am a hobby user, so while I've been using Photoshop since 1998, and have taken lots of classes, the price of upgrading PS is really prohibitive. Do you think it will be a disappointing change? AND will I be able to open my existing documents. Thanks for your video.
Hi Mary, I think you will find PSE very limited. It really doesn't compare to Adobe Photoshop. It is a great little program if it is all you know, but if your experience is with the vastly more powerful Adobe Photoshop you will not like it. For all of my important work I use Adobe Photoshop. Since PSE is very limited I would expect that your Photoshop files will not be fully useable in Photoshop Elements.
Remember, Photoshop Elements does NOT support the CMYK color mode. So if you are doing any work that requires you to preview your images in CMYK or generate CMYK files, you won't have this capability.
You're welcome Debra! PSE 15 was a great update and added several really useful features. Not that much has really improved since then aside from Subject Select and Image Warp, I do like those 2 recent updates.
Hi George, I just left a comment on one of your older CS5 tutorials. I made a mistake thinking Elements was free, not just a free-30 day trial. Do any of your videos cover the most compelling reasons to buy Elements for those of us disaffected when Adobe went subscription only after CS6? I also mentioned in that comment that thanks to you I found out about Skylum's Luminar Neo which I am trying out now with a one-month subscription for around $12. I love your vocal tone and delivery: wish others would emulate your style and the way you include your personal evaluations of each feature. Adobe should be paying you for input if they really want to improve. ✨
Thanks! And here is my latest product comparison video th-cam.com/video/Ye6EJYmm9EM/w-d-xo.html. My basic advice is if you are hobbyist then PSE should work fine. If you are professional then there really is no other good option to Adobe Photoshop.
You're welcome, most people will only need to update Photoshop Elements every few years, mostly so that the program keeps up with changes in the operating system.
I’ve used photoshop cs for some time and when they went up on their cost sub, I refused to pay their inflation price. I usually use photoshop for shapes and logo creating, as too custom documents. Will I be able to do the same with elements?
It sounds like you are doing things for a business. I always recommend Adobe Photoshop for anything professional, it is 1000 times more powerful compared to Photoshop Elements. In your specific need you say shapes and logo creation, both of those are usually done with vector tools like paths and the pen tool. Photoshop Elements doesn't have those tools. There are other options out there at a low cost, I personally like the Affinity suite of programs which includes a photo tool like Photoshop, a drawing tool like Illustrator, and a page layout tool like InDesign, all for a single one time cost of about $165. If I didn't have Adobe Photoshop that is the way I would go.
Am I the only one who could care less about adding text, butterflies, stars, etc. to my photos? I am the only one who doesn't care about creating animations to my photos? I only care about fixing corrections to my photos. Things like removing dust, leveling/cropping, removing artifacts, fixing eye issues, etc. Not turning them into "art" or changing the way the sky looked in the photo. If you do that, you are ruining your photos and the next generation (or two) will look at them and say WTH? Give me the tools to properly and easily organize my photos. Give me the tools to preserve my photos in the best way possible. Don't focus on ways to turn my photos into a circus.
Photoshop Elements has always been about doing the custom stuff, that is why it comes with text, backgrounds, styles, clip art, etc. There are much better programs out there for straight photo editing, like Audacity Photo, ON1, or Luminar. For the creative stuff Adobe Photoshop is the best, but Photoshop Elements can also do amazing images if you know how to work around its limitations. It can do all the regular photo editing chores but that is not what it is designed for.
I like the cute-sie stuff...not all the time...mostly on kids fun pitures. But I also want to fix them the best they can be...lots of stuff for lots of different people!
@@barbaradavis4675 Photoshop Elements is great for that, lots of fun Guided Edits and lots that can be done with the included Graphics. I would do more with kids picture on my channel but TH-cam has some serious limits on using kids in videos.
is there a way of saving a raw profile? like adjusting vibrancy, shadows etc and saving that so its default when you open a raw file? don't seem to be able to see that option? thanks!
Hi - in previous versions, when I wanted to put 2 6x4 photos on a transparent 8x10 to make use of the totality of the 8x10 size, I would just move one over to the 8x10 and put it where I wanted to, and then put the second one above it, now the first one goes into the center and won't move. What do I need to do to move it where I want to. thanks
@@Acumind1 Simply place both photos into your project file where you want them. So make an 8x10 file, bring in your first 6x4 photo as a new layer, position where you want, then bring in your 2nd 6x4 photo as a new layer and position that one, then hit print and print that file with both 6x4 photos pre-positioned. That way it can be done in the Editor.
Hi George Great Tutorial, I upgraded to photoshop 2024 and the layers, effects, filters, etc tabs are in the traditional bottom right corner & the color match effects has a reset button. Your you tube Tutorials ( in my opinion ) are better than others I have seen so thank you.
Sounds like you are on a Mac. No idea why there is no reset button in the Windows version, but the Mac version tends to be a little bit behind on features since Adobe builds for Windows, then copies the code over to the Mac. I expect that the buttons will be moved by 2025 for the Mac.
@@HTGPhoto , I downloaded the trail version on Pc and Adobe fixed the missing Color Match reset, and all the usual buttons are there on the bottom right of the app. Just like billshrive 1066 said. ALL SO, you can change the background color surrounding the image by right clicking the background after loading a image in advanced mode, same as earlier versions. NO Need not to use PSE 2024. Love your work George.
Interesting, this needs looking into. There seems to be 2 different versions of 2024 at the moment. Lets check. I downloaded 2024 about 3 days after release, I am running a Windows 11 machine with the latest updates, and I am in the US. I have seen some differences in the past between the US version and other countries, not sure if that is happening here. It could also be a Windows 10 vs 11 thing. So Nestor let me know which version of Windows you run, when you downloaded 2024, and which country you are in and we will see if there are differences.
If you are talking about a Photoshop Elements Smart Object Layer, then yes, right click on the layer and choose Simplify from the popup menu. If you are talking about an Adobe Photoshop Template that includes a Smart Object, then it depends. PS Smart Objects frequently have embedded Photoshop files showing up as a layer, you click on that and it opens the other Photoshop file. You can't do that in PSE. You still may be able to use the template but the file inside of a file part will not work.
Thanks, George, for another fantastic tutorial, your voice is so soothing. Would it be possible to let us know when the 2024 version is uploaded? I purchased the 2021 version but unfortunately, I was struck down with Chronic Pain, I have had multiple Operations but none have been successful and therefore I have not gotten a chance to try the 2021 version so I paid for the upgrade to 2024 and I would like to follow the most up to date version. Thank you
Hi, Aside from the new look the program runs the same. But since you asked, I am currently working on a secret project that I will be announcing soon. It is a new training tool that is vastly different from what I have done in the past and I think it will be extremely useful. Once I release that I will get to work on the 2024 training title.
@@HTGPhoto Oh George, that sounds extremely interesting, it is of the same quality as your other material then it will make a lot of people happy. If you want any help testing, let me know and if I can help, I will. Take care and stay safe
Thanks, George, for the run through. I prefer the dark screen to what is, to me, a very wishy-washy light one. I am not at all sure that it offers anything I could benefit from. So,I think, all in all, I'll stay with PSE21.
You're welcome Peter! I agree, not much here in the 2024 update. I'm not getting a sense that very many people will be upgrading this time around which is why I will be sticking to a previous version for my TH-cam videos for now.
Well this will probably get a laugh here but my ugrade was from Photoshop elements 10. So what I'm wondering is when big changes were made so I can go back on TH-cam and see about some of those things. I mainly use elements while I'm scanning old pictures to make them look better and also I still make cards and send them out on my creative side. The upgrade deal that I used included Photoshop premiere elements because I want to edit some of the old videos I have and I thought the newer version would be easier to do. So. We'll see. So this for me was informative because my version is so much different in the layout of things. Thanks a lot.
Hi Sue! Photoshop Elements had a complete redesign in version 11. That is when the new look came in and also when the focus changed from being a smaller Photoshop to being a much more friendly consumer image editor. One of the main differences you will notice, aside from the new look, is that much of Photoshop Elements has been simplified. Many things were removed and most simplified, although over the years we are slowly getting back some of what was taken away. I still consider version 10 the best version of the program, really out of date now, but still a great version. My earliest videos for Photoshop Elements on my other channel are for version 11 and the main reason I started to do that was because of the drastic change in the program. You can find all of my older videos on my other channel, and all of my new videos on this channel. Check out www.youtube.com/@HTGGeorge for the older stuff.
I'm trying to do use a .psd template for a hoodie mockup for print-on-demand. The .psd has a smart object in it, but when I click the thumbnail, nothing happens to open it in a new window so I can edit the smart object's content. Can Photoshops Elements 2024 with the Elements+ $12 plugin allow me to do this? Or is only regular Photoshop or the free but super laggy Photopea able to accomplish this?
Photoshop Elements can't open Photoshop Smart Objects. I haven't tested Elements+ with smart objects but it is supposed to be able to use them from PSE 13 and newer.

Thank you for the great video! I have PSE 2022 and would like to know if PSE 2024 is any better at colorizing scanned black and white images? I can do it in PSE 22 but seems like it could be easier with AI?
quick question for you, last year i had to change from photoshop 5 to photoshop elements 2022, question i have is, when you use the geypoint to correct an image in ph5 you could save that as a recipe to then use on the rest of the images, i cant seem to get ph element 2022 to do that, as i' fairly new to ph ele i might be missing something obvious, or is the save / load feature for recipes one of the exclusions for ph ele 2022? thanks
That is one of many features that PSE doesn't have. Basically Adobe Photoshop is about 1000 times better than Photoshop Elements, but Elements can do a lot if you understand its limitations.
If you want to see 2 images side by side in the workspace you can do it 2 ways, one is to set up floating windows, below is a video about that. The other way is to go to the Window menu, click on Images, then Tile. th-cam.com/video/X26Ga4j4O9w/w-d-xo.html
@@BlkbirdCDN Photoshop Elements uses a built in companion program to open camera raw files, Adobe Camera Raw. It acts like a mini image editor that is more like Lightroom than PSE. You open the camera raw file in Adobe Camera Raw, do your image edits, then save that over to the PSE editor for finishing and converting to other formats. Right now PSE comes with Adobe Camera Raw 15.5 which easily works with CR3 files.
No, that is available in Adobe Photoshop. I strongly doubt that Adobe will ever add that to Elements since they need reasons for people to buy Photoshop instead of Elements.
Hi George, Thanks for a great video on the new features. I just downloaded PSE 2024 (good deal on Amazon black Friday) and it is not the same as yours, layers tabs ect are in usual place at the bottom. I'm running Windows 11 and in the UK - I think everything else is the same, does this seem correct? PS, now I cannot wait to get your full training for PSE 2024 🙂
Thanks Anne, it looks like Adobe released a couple of different versions of the program. One for Win 11 USA, and one that doesn't have all of the updated features yet for Win 10, Mac, and overseas. No idea why they did that. I expect that the second version will get caught up in the next update in Oct 2024.
@@HTGGeorge thank you, not much difference but I was curious - also my version has a reset button on the colour match tab, maybe they listened to you 😅. I much prefer the dark mode also as having cataracts its easier to see, one of the reasons I considered it. Keep up the good work, love watching your videos, have learned so much, thank you for all the effort you put in 😊
HI Patrick, Yes there is a raw editor in PSE and it works fine. I keep on getting questions about how PSE compares to PS, so I will be simple here. There is no comparison. PSE is for hobbiests and can work well if you know the tricks. Adobe PS is a fully professional program and is the best on the market for basically everything. Kind of like comparing a japanese economy car to a ferrarri. They will both get you around town. I use PSE all the time for my TH-cam videos, but for everything else I use PS.
Thanks for this video! I just bought a Nikon Z5 camera and the RAW files were identified by PSE2019, and then something changed, and said the files are corrupt, so the NEF files aren't downloaded into the organizer or available. I don't know what happened, I"ve only had it three weeks and taken 104 pictures. I thought I might update to this version hoping that fixes the RAW file issue... what do you think? TY
You can check to see which cameras are supported in the latest Adobe Raw here helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html. Adobe updates this list about twice a year and it was just updated this month.
Is there any way to eliminate the latin garbage text that appears in a new text paragraph box? I find it annoying that I have to select and delete it before I start typing in my own text. I also ran into a situation where I could not enter spaces between words if I went back and edited text. Is that some kind of bug? Also cannot open Canon raw images and have to first open them using preview and save as a tiff to import them. Will Adobe release an update to fix this or did I buy a buggy piece of software that I am stuck with?
You can turn off the greeking text in Preferences (Edit/Preferences). The setting is under Type and it is a check box for Fill new type layers with placeholder text. You should be able to add spaces between words, no idea why that would not work, it isn't a bug with the program and I have not been able to recreate that error. Check your font, the type settings, and the tracking. Photoshop Elements can't edit raw images directly and instead opens them in the Camera Raw Editor. For unknown reasons the Camera Raw Editor is not installed by default in PSE 2024. You will find an install button for that at the bottom of the Help menu. Install the editor and then everything should work correctly.

2024 runs exactly the same as earlier versions, it just has a different color scheme. At the moment i am in the middle of moving to a new state. Once I get all settled there in January I will get to work on 2024 videos and the new 2024 training course.
PSE never changes that much between versions, except for 2024 with the light/dark modes. So if nothing new is useful to you then no real reason to update. But... I would update soon if you are using Win 10 or 11 because each new update has improvements in the coding that help it to run better with the current version of Windows, so you may see some degradation in performance as your version gets furthur out of date each year.
High George, like ya say not much here. I have a concern about the gradients lost. If possible maybe list a file workflow to capture some of these old ones to import into the new program??? Also, does Adobe Stock offer any "B roll" for Premiere??? One last thought is that you can get a upgrade discount which I think is like $110.00 for past PSE users. I last upgraded in 22 and this was my year to upgrade again, however because of how they messed up the gradients I don't think so much! I really don't like the practical look of the black mode for reasons you stated, it does make a difference on photo saturation. How often do you see black matts used in photography??? You don't normally. Thank you for all you do! Scratching head! Rich
Hi Rich, PSE hasn't changed the gradients in the gradient tool in Expert (Advanced) mode, just in the new Add Type Guided Edit. So nothing lost there, just a bad decision on which gradients to show first in that new guided edit. Adobe is offering $20 off upgrade pricing, but you have to scroll to the bottom of their main PSE page to find that. If you wait until January you can usually get better discounts on Amazon. Adobe Stock does have video and animations available but I haven't yet looked at the new Premiere Elemenets to see if that is available in the 2024 program. Dark Mode is very trendy right now, everyone is doing it, but I prefer a neutral gray around images when I am editing so I won't be using the new Dark Mode. At least this update looks like they put some thought into it, not just a batch of useless new Guided Edits like we have been seeing mostly in the last few updates, and the rainbow gradients being listed first looks like a U.S. decision, that wouldn't have come from their India programmers.
LOL.......yes, indeed a US and trendy rainbow, I see even the NFL teams are using on a lot of their caps!!!! Hey thank you much for the clarification, will have to figure out the bottom line after the discount you mentioned. It is either PSE or update my suite of Topaz Labs stand alone programs, at least I get some real benefit out of the AI in their programs for about the same renewal money. I am still messing around with the Luminar thing. I still use it but no longer go with any of their subscriptions, the "Looks or Presets" are the only thing I really liked about the program and heck you or I could sell Presets!!!!! Thanks again! Rich
@@HTGPhoto "...I prefer a nautral gray around images when I am editing..." Fix: After loading a image, right click on the image screen, (not on the image), and choose whatever color you want to use.
I forgot to mention that. I usually edit in Fit to Window mode, so the background right around the image doesn't show much and the visual quality is more affected by the color of the interface (menus, panels, etc.)

Any work in Photoshop Elements or Photoshop should always be done with a neutral gray interface. Using either a black interface or a white interface will mislead your judgement of color and levels. In other words, you'll spend a lot of time guessing rather than productively creating.
Hi George, I just bought Photoshop 2023 and I was wondering if I take your Photoshop Element class 2018 and 19 that will just show me the basic right but it'll help me be able to do Photoshop 2023 cuz I don't know how to do a dang thing on it but I've always wanted it but all they had was the 2023 version of Photoshop element
Hi Audrey, I also have training for 2023. But Photoshop Elements doesn't change that much between versions, so any of my training titles will teach you almost everything you need.
Unfortunately if you open a RAW file you cannot save the file as a .jpg without saving as a copy, and also you cannot edit in the generated file unless you convert to 8 bit. Elements 2023 allowed these no problem, so why the backward move? Not worth in my opinion, the upgrade cost for increased problems.
Hi Malcome, saving a raw to jpg will always be a copy because it is a different file format, therefor a different file. It is safer to save as a copy anyway since that protects the original. Photoshop Elements has always been an 8-bit program and that hasn't changed in 2024. Adobe RAW in PSE 2024 runs exactly the same way it did in 2023. If you shoot a lot of RAW images and you want better editing tools I recommend using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop which are much more powerful and feature rich, much better for photographers.
@@HTGPhoto Yet when I open RAW files in PSE 2024 I am told the .jpg I have saved is 16bit and I need to save as an 8bit file before I can work on it. I have no such problems in PSE 2023. Instead I tried Affinity recently and was impressed, although not as versatile as PSE.
@@malcolmjohnston7873 HI Malcolm, PSE has always saved jpgs to 8 bit because PSE has always been an 8 bit program. That hasn't changed, but Adobe may have added a warning telling you that will happen. But the actual save has not changed. For photography Affinity Photo is a better choice as it can work with 16 bit images directly. I love PSE for all the fun creative stuff it can to but I never recommend the program for photographers.
I just bought 2023 like 4 months ago. I am not spending another $200 for so very little. Nothing you mentioned here catches my interest. I'll probably wait till 2025 update.

So the missing reset button is an error that I expect Adobe will fix in the next release. The reason why I like reset buttons is that it can take you back several steps in just one click, ctrl+z only goes back one step.
Really appreciate your frank assessment of the changes.
No problem
I wish TH-cam would let me like your video more than one time!
Thanks! Appreciate the thought.
Get my new Photoshop Elements 2024 course here howtogurus.com/pse2024/
I will be doing more videos for 2024 this week.
@@HTGPhoto - I agreee. Thank you for the reply.
Thank you George!
You're welcome Maria!
Really looking forward to your 2024 tutorials. I am so impressed by your quick reply to me. Thanks a million. You are a rare find.
Glad you like them!
George, velmi skvělá recenze na Elements 2024 - je skvělé, že tam přidali ten tmavý motiv ok.
Thanks!
Thx George. Appreciate your honest opinion.
You're welcome Belinda!
Geo when speaking about the color match not having a reset button, wouldn't Ctrl Z work to reset the image?
Ctrl Z just sets things back one step, it is the same as clicking Undo in the Edit menu. If you have been doing a lot of changes you would need to use Ctrl Z several times to get all the way back. Must easier if there was a reset button like there is in many of the PSE tools.
thanks! till soon
You're welcome!
Thanks George! :-)
You are welcome!
I have an EXTREMELY old version (2.0). It still works on my Windows 10, but I am concerned that it may not work on 11. Do you have a recommendation of a version to upgrade to since I will probably soon have to go to 11?
Hi Cindy, I always recommend upgrading to the most current version, this applies to any software, not just PSE.
I don't have a preferences dark mode???
Thanks George, I don't think I'll upgrade to this version {I'm still on PSE 15.... lol}
Do any of your videos cover the most compelling reasons to buy Elements for those of us disaffected when Adobe went
subscription only after CS6? I also mentioned in that comment that thanks to you I found out about Skylum's Luminar Neo
which I am trying out now with a one-month subscription for around $12.
I love your vocal tone and delivery: wish others would emulate your style and the way you include your personal evaluations
of each feature.
Thanks for this I'm still suing version. 2019
@@HTGPhoto ok thx
I would do more with kids picture on my channel but TH-cam has some serious limits on using kids in videos.
is there a way of saving a raw profile? like adjusting vibrancy, shadows etc and saving that so its default when you open a raw file? don't seem to be able to see that option? thanks!
No, there is no way to save adjustment profiles in Photoshop Elements Raw.
Hi - in previous versions, when I wanted to put 2 6x4 photos on a transparent 8x10 to make use of the totality of the 8x10 size, I would just move one over to the 8x10 and put it where I wanted to, and then put the second one above it, now the first one goes into the center and won't move. What do I need to do to move it where I want to. thanks
In the Print dialog box in the Organizer set the type of print to Picture Package, set Layout to Letter (2) 4x6, and uncheck Crop to Fit.
@@HTGPhoto Hi - I don't use the Organizer. Is there some other way to do it?

Hi Brian, I will be getting into Affinity Photo 2 in 2024. Right now been focing on getting this channel monetized, only 250 watch hours to go.
How can I edit a smart object in Photoshop Elements 2024?
Is there a way to make the tool bar and top menu bar words and images larger, difficult to read?
CHeck out my video on how to customize the program th-cam.com/video/PrgqooAjTgM/w-d-xo.html
@@HTGPhoto Thanks a lot. I look at it all
I'm trying to do use a .psd template for a hoodie mockup for print-on-demand.
Will this work on my 2017 iMac?
Hi Norman, here are the requirements for a Mac:
Intel 6th Generation or newer processor; Apple silicon M1 or newer processor
macOS 12, macOS 13 (13.4 or later)
8GB of RAM
6GB of available hard-disk space to install application; additional space required for downloading online content and for temporary files during product installation and usage (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)

That is one of many features that PSE doesn't have. Basically Adobe Photoshop is about 1000 times better than Photoshop Elements, but Elements can do a lot if you understand its limitations.
How to put 2 images on the screen in elements
If you want to see 2 images side by side in the workspace you can do it 2 ways, one is to set up floating windows, below is a video about that. The other way is to go to the Window menu, click on Images, then Tile. th-cam.com/video/X26Ga4j4O9w/w-d-xo.html
Thanks George. Did the system requirement change with PSE2024?
Not that I know of, but I have noticed that the Win 11 interface has all of the changes and the Win 10 interface is missing some of the updates.
Thank you for your review. Are there any changes in Camera RAW ?
Not that I know of except for adding compatibility for new cameras.
As in it can work with the Canon CR3 files??? Cuz that's what I'm hoping
No problem with that @@BlkbirdCDN
Hello. Does Elements 2024 include AI generative fill?

Is there a raw image editor in it? If so, How does it compare to PS raw editor ?
HI Patrick, Yes there is a raw editor in PSE and it works fine. I keep on getting questions about how PSE compares to PS, so I will be simple here. There is no comparison. PSE is for hobbiests and can work well if you know the tricks. Adobe PS is a fully professional program and is the best on the market for basically everything. Kind of like comparing a japanese economy car to a ferrarri. They will both get you around town. I use PSE all the time for my TH-cam videos, but for everything else I use PS.
.

Think I'll stick with PSE 2019.
Where is the motion feature they advertise?
The motion features were introduced in the last two updates and you can find them at the bottom of the Enhance menu.
Rich
I would go with Topaz, they have good solid programming and useful updates. It looks like Adobe went the trendy direction for this update.
@@HTGPhoto "...I prefer a nautral gray around images when I am editing..."
Fix: After loading a image, right click on the image screen, (not on the image), and choose whatever color you want to use.
I forgot to mention that. I usually edit in Fit to Window mode, so the background right around the image doesn't show much and the visual quality is more affected by the color of the interface (menus, panels, etc.)
My buttons are there. Click on the down arrow and choose basic workspace
Good discovery! That is a feature PSE 2024 didn't mention in their list of updates.

You can get French in the Closed Captions. Click the CC button to turn on Closed Captions. Then click the Gear icon to bring up Settings, click on Subtitles, then Auto-Translate and choose French.
Any work in Photoshop Elements or Photoshop should always be done with a neutral gray interface. Using either a black interface or a white interface will mislead your judgement of color and levels. In other words, you'll spend a lot of time guessing rather than productively creating.
I agree completely
As a retired photographer / graphic designer of 72 I am no longer able to afford Lightroom and Photoshop, programmes I used to use both professionally and as an retired amateur until Adobe decided to go to monthly subscriptions.
I usually recommend upgrading PSE every 3-4 years.
Wow....... $200!
In UK I've just upgraded on Adobe site from Elements 2020 to Elements 2024 at a cost of £70.
Not worth upgrading from version 2023. Pay 80$ for dark mode, 🤣 Adobe Stock and add text. ON 1 photo RAW 2024 and photo director 2024 are much better options for about the same price
Adobe rarely makes big changes between versions which is why I usually recommend upgrading every 4 years or so.
Sadly, your elements 2024 is different than the one I just bought. Will look for other tutorials for clarity on updates.
Just found out that there is a way to show the buttons at the bottom in PSE 2024. Right click on the arrow icon at the bottom right corner of the program and choose Basic Workspace. Aside from that everything else I show is the same.
Not thrilled with the photo choices for this tutorial
What's wrong with the photo choices, a beach, a girl walking, and a horse. What's wrong with that? If you think I should have done something else for social concience or environmental reasons then you should know that this is a non-political channel. I leave that to everyone else. I choose pictures to best show the topic I am discussing. I really don't care about the content.
I'm NOT going to upgrade from 2022.
My usual recommendation is to upgrade every 3-5 years unless there has been a big change in the operating system which requires an upgrade.
This video is misnamed. It is not a tutorial for beginners. it's a PE 2024 tutorial *for people who are already familiar with a previous version of PE*. I'm at 10 min in and you're still talking about the differences rather than introducing PE to an actual beginner.
This is probably perfect for those who are only new to the 2024 version but I'll keep looking for a BEGINNER tutorial.
Hi Bunny, this is exactly what the title says, Complete Review New Features, and is designed for new users who are considering purchasing the program. I have hundreds of videos over on my older channel showing how to use every feature in Photoshop Elements www.youtube.com/@HTGGeorge. I recently split my channel so all of the new videos are going up here and all of my older videos are over on the old channel.
1 minute 50 seconds in and wrong info
It appears that PSE 2024 is built for Win 11. Older versions of Windows and Mac computers are not showing all of the updates.
Not all changes are showing up at the same time on different operating versions. If you are still using the older Win 10 things may look slightly different.

Damn guy, you say the same thing over and over again. Stop it.
I like repeating myself. I think I will do even more of that from now on, just for you.
Keep going the way you do George! If I were a know-all, I wouldn't be needing excellent teachers like you, who explains things clearly and concisely in understandable English!@@HTGPhoto
haha..love your reply to stone5015. If one does not like content, simply don't watch it. It is that simple. You are fabulous and your videos are free. How can one complain about that? @@HTGPhoto
