Thank you!
I just got the 9” version. Loving it so far. I got a SIM card from Mint Mobile going too so I’ve got connectivity all the time no matter who’s driving.
Let’s goooo!! Sounds like quite the setup.
Did the 9” radio fit in the 4th gen 4 runner?
@@Pillager46 Was also wondering.
As well as monthly on the SIM, really don't care to get too crazy. Heard it wasn't available in the US, weird.
Hey great idea hooking your back up camera to your switch panel! 😉
Hahaha the man, the myth… THE LEGEND!
Just grabbed the Ultra, gonna install soon in my 03 Runna. Great video!
Awesome! You are going to love it!!
Hey! Watched your video and noticed it was from 7 months ago. Was wondering if you were still gonna do an update video on this head unit. A bit curious if your impressions have changed after 7 months of using it. Thanks!
Hey Dave! What a great idea. I’ll film an update here and upload it! It’s been fantastic for me. No issues at all.
@@looseaxles Thank you! Glad you are still enjoying the head unit. I look forward to seeing your update 😁
Waiting for my 2nd gen S8/MS in the mail..
Funny thing I ordered the S7/W but I came across the S8/MS didn't have time to cancel soo i have 2 units on the way.
Thinking about giving the S7 to my son for his new 1st car
Let me know how you like it! Ive really loved my Atoto units!
You should add Car Launcher pro well worth customizing it for yourself even more!
Would love to hear about it!
I put the free version on mine, but it’s pretty cool. I’ll probably upgrade to the Pro.
Hopefully putting mine in this weekend. I have Verizon for a cellular provider. I have 2 questions:
1) Does anyone have experience putting this into a vehicle that was factory equipped with Sirius?
2) As far as a SIM card, do I just tell Verizon it's for my new radio? or can I just buy from Amazon and set it up myself? I assume I will have to pay for more Verizon services?
So, it seems we don't need the 107 dollar harness for the 4runner 4th gen, if we are not using the power amp setup or steering wheel controls ?
Alternative harness? I would just want the base radio (and camera). Thanks!
These sure get harsh reviews on Amazon, but trying to have faith haha
The harness is definitely worth it. I have it linked in the description the one that allows you to keep your steering wheel controls and just plug and play. The alternative is 5 hours of wiring haha. I have loved my Atoto unit - it’s actually been quality.
@@looseaxles I don't have steering controls on this one for some reason. :( And no JBL on this Sport. And not using any amps. Basic. Seems like the 107 harness is not needed for me. Hmmm
Glad to hear the good words.
I don’t get my wireless CarPlay to work… any advice?
What’s going on with it? I have a few tricks!
Any chance you could do an audio output test with some royalty free music when you do your update? Happy with the unit so far?
I am very happy with the audio output! It’s blown my old pioneer away and utilizes the stock system so much better.
The deal breaker for me was it doesn't have Sirius XM. I emailed Atoto and they told me this head unit did have that capability but looking at the connectors there's no way that it can interface with the Sirius XM box. Disappointing.
Ah rats! What’s has kept you with Sirius XM after all these years?
All of my newer cars have come with it but I still have a 97 Honda Civic with an old Kenwood that has, believe it or not iPod control and siriusxm (2008). LOL. I was thinking about bringing it into the 21st century, but the other problem is I don't use streaming services, like Spotify or other music apps.
So with the newer cars we have a subscription to SiriusXM so it just makes sense to keep it in the old Honda. But really after looking at the Atoto, the only channels I really listen to are 80s on 8, maybe Liquid Metal sometimes, and Caliente.
Respect 🙏🏾🫱🏼🫲🏽 radio is nice sometimes, don’t have to keep choosing new play lists or songs. 91.1 in my area plays awesome music and usually transmits clear
I just use Sirius from my phone in Bluetooth mode
@@looseaxlesSirius XM is superior to all music platforms if you drive a lot, PERIOD! People who don’t like it typically are CHEAP
that is pretty cool setup .the amp is a 4 ch right so can u power the rear door and rear deck speakers with just radio power ...?..and rest of the speakers with the amp ....?..
I believe so!
@@looseaxles ok good ty
Hi is it possible to change the brightness easily? And, is it possible to turn the screen off?
Yes! Very easy in the menu. The top left button turns the screen off.
Is it possible to bypass my stock JBL amp and use this one? I have a 2019 Sienna and the Crux 61p harness to retain steering wheel features and drive the stock JBL amp causes a severe delay in the production of sound from my S8 MS. It can take anywhere between seconds to 15 minutes to actually hear anything, including input beeps when I touch the screen. I figure if I bypass the JBL and use a different amp, I can solve that problem. Can you help me?
I would think that’s totally an option!
Does this head unit let you open the "FCAM" Front camera app in split screen with google maps?
(I want to mount a front cam to the leftside mirror on a right hand drive JDM car for seeing oncoming traffic when trying to pass)
Such a great idea. Let me try it out tomorrow and get back to you! Love it.
have a tacoma, also have a jvc radio in it. only get 1 am station bought the pac harnesses cause thought that may be the proble, with the jvc. is the atoto and amp better than your pioneer was or should i just get new jvc? have all new harnesses, and want front cam input.
The Atoto, even without the amp blew my pioneer out of the water. It’s been a much better head unit to be honest. Even better with being able to include front and rear cams!
Replace your bulbs in your hvac :))
This video was taken before we did just that! I have an updated HVAC conversion video on the channel as well!
Haha. I gotcha. :)
If I have the limited with JBL will I still need the amp?
Only if ya want it!
Were you able to connect the Atoto Bluetooth obdii scanner to it? I just wired this up and it's not connecting at all and others are stumped too
I have never tried it! I will look into this.
It was asking me for a 16 digit code, I even have a photo of it asking for 16 digits. I go in just for funsies today, (2 days later) and it all of the sudden wants a 4 digit code and 1234 worked just fine now so, cool 😂
How is the amp holding up? The reviews aren't too great on it. I have the s8 but speakers are pretty quiet
I switched to using the head unit without the AMP as I felt like my stock speakers needed an upgrade to make full use of it. It’s defs helped for more punch though.
@@looseaxles Gotcha, thank you for the reply much appreciated. I have an 01 ram with aftermarket infinity speakers. I'm enjoying my s8. But just seems like the volume has to be turned almost all the way up. Was thinking of picking this up to possibly make them a bit louder.
What settings did you go with on the amp? I have the same setup.
I can’t remember exactly, but I know the dials were relatively neutral.
Was this on a jbl system or non jbl?
It's jbl I think
what was wrong with the old pioneer unit?
It just totally stopped working! Blank screen and no fixing it!
Was this a sponsored deal?
ATOTO sent this product out to us for initial testing. I was planning on getting the S8 premium regardless, but was open to being a tester for this newer unit!
Are you still rocking the amp?@@looseaxles
Does the phone sound like a factory unit? Mine always have to much background noise.
I would say it does!
Was wondering this myself.. I had the F7 and the phone quality (my voice) was abysmal and that was with the external microphone. They were going to send me a new unit but after a lot of reading where it stated that the S8 has none of the F7 issues, I returned the unit and currently waiting for the S8. Other than that, super impressed with Atoto.
