- This video is an analysis of Tentai (aka Gymnastics), the fifth fundamental movement of Taido.
Taido practitioners combine gymnastic movements (front rolls, back rolls, and cartwheels) with footwork, kicks, and punches in order to out maneuver and strike their opponent. Taido practitioners must learn front rolls, back rolls, and cartwheels in order to master the art form but many practitioners go on to practice more advanced gymnastics in their training. This video discusses the importance of gymnastics in martial arts training, from using it inside the ring to incorporating it as a part of a fighters strength and conditioning regiment. Fighters from any discipline could truly benefit from adding gymnastics to their arsenal.

I only studied Taido for a year but I loved it. I, unfortunately was not athletic enough to really accel, yet one of my teachers was a good 150# overweight and she moved like a cat! As flashy as it is, its well thought out, effective and practical.
Jujutsu Kaisen brought me here!
