Well South Indian food is very popular all over India.
My favourite one is dosa (there are many varieties in it like masala Dosa, paneer dosa, plain dosa) and vada with white coconut chutney and sambar😋😋[ I'm from east India still South Indian food has my heart💫]

Idly == Jjinppang is an amazing discovery by the sisters! TIL Jjinppang is made from fermented sourdough in maekgeolli - this is very similar to Idly which is made with fermented lentils with rice mixture.. Plus, both are steamed. Not a wonder the taste is same!
Also, the Korean croquettes do look much more similar to masala dosa.. Fun fact: Same mixture is used for both idly & dosa! Yet, as the dosa is fried on a pan, with butter on top, this tastes similar to the korokke dough. The potato filling with vegetables & spices are almost the same too!!

Wahh I'm screaming cause I'm a South Indian! Ok so let me explain.
Idli - lentils and rice batter that is fermented for a day and It's steamed.
Masala dosa - lentils and rice but the quantity of lentils is less than rice and that is why it's crispy. Masala is potato.
Vada - lentils again with some spices and deep fried.
Sambar - it's lentils and tamarind water with some spices also with some vegetables.
White one is the coconut chutney and red one is the tomato chutney.
And yes it's true that you guys found some of these food similar to Korean food cause of the influence of a Tamil princess who married a Korean king. I have heard this in many places. Also there are similarities with Tamil and Korean words like amma for mother and appa for father and many more. There's so much more south indian food that you guys should try, you'll love it. ❤️

You have to dip the whole vada in the sambar(lentil soup), let it soak for 30seconds and eat it. That's the combo

Most of the common breakfast in South Indian idli and dosa,(idli batter and uttapam battern are same, just have to create with the field with wages and onions) mom prepare a battle kept in the refrigerator child whenever they want the just preparing by the own, so mom prepare the battern bunks and buckets of bat and kept in greater and whenever the child hunger very easily they can prepare the brave breakfast by the own, that is how we grow up.

In take idly small in size then u can enjoy with more taste... Big pieces won't absorb all the chutneys and sambhar that quick... So always take it in small/ medium pieces

Thankyou for trying our dishes, it felt so happy while watching you both enjoying them. Idli and sambar (which looked like vegetable soup )/ coconut chutney are common break fast in South India. Masala dhosa and vada are more like a special break fast, which our mother make for us when we nudge her more, somedays. 😁😁Thankyou friends.
