The root cause in my case was Notifications set to When Unlocked, while StandBy requires them to be set to Always. Changed that and it started working immediately. But then I turned them back: I’ll rather live without StandBy than expose bank SMS codes and other sensitive content to being shown on my Lock Screen.
This feature is Santa’s broken after the few updates to 17 that were done through 17.0.3. It isn’t supposed to shut off on a 15pro max but it does. Countless times it takes itself out of standby mode and doesn’t work at all. Even when plugged in. Apple really losing its step in the last few years.
I have the iPhone 15 Pro. Turned on StandBy, Always On and Night Mode. Turned off Motion to Wake. When the phone first goes into Red Tint mode, it looks great. Over the next minute, the screen gets gradually dimmer until I can barely see the screen. Is there a way to eliminate the dimming? Turning off Motion to Wake has eliminated the screen going to sleep but it dims too much. Suggestions are welcome...

iOS 17.1 standby mode still doesn't work. First of all if you choose "never" you can not turn off red tint mode. HATE it. Secondly, NEVER still doesn't mean NEVER. Still turns off at night.

Great thanks to you bro.even we didn't get the right idea after watching this video..but when i see your comment nd after i followed the steps..its working
I just got it to work after updating to 17.0.2. Putting the phone to charge in landscape and then locking it. It then started working. Good luck mate. Hope this helps
This would have been a great feature, but it hasn't worked right since day 1. I had it working once but now can't get it to do anything. None of the things above work and you shouldn't have to do any of those. We pay over $1,200 for a phone, Apple needs to get it right. Since Steve died, Apple has become more and more unreliable.
My iPhone 13 pro stopped working. Mine does not show the always on button. Also standby did work with the lock button on in vertical mode. Now out of the blue it stopped working. Tried all your recommendations still not working.
