Loved reading how ur still loving this, only to see a similar msg from yrs ago... I'm an aussie and agree 100%. I bought this album in 94 and love all their songs. Peace to you my brother
Chur. Thailand is awesome and so are you for hearing this gem of the 90’s. This was an important song for the growth of New Zealand music. As a kid I saw that we could produce some real quality stuff, pretty inspiring when living there feels like you’re on the end of the world
Che Fu is such a cool brotha, he was at a place trying to chill & I drunkenly interrupted him, making a fool of myself, looking back I feel like a complete douche but he treated me with absolute respect and was so calm, I love that dude.
@@mattcotton4946I used to bounce and bar tend at a student bar called the Kiwi2 where they regularly use to gig just before they jumped off and I always used to think to myself how the flip haven't these dudes been picked up with a record deal yet. Also back in the day, Auckland Uni had their own bar (not the one where I worked) where they used to annually hold the NORML gigs. Basically a stoners rage and Che was a regular at that event. And not as an artist if you know I mean. He was a cool dude for sure. 😊
Went to school with this dude. Table tennis at lunchtimes. Two years my senior but was the most approachable guy. Sang a song that made everyone bawl their eyes out in his last assembly. Could replicate Stevie Wonder like no-one else. Totally underrated. K-Bar
The early nineties will always be remembered as the era of Acid Jazz and Funk for me. It did not matter if it was Oz, NZ the US or the UK it was all groove bass lines, brass and funky percussion. I wish we could bring that era back.
Have you tried listening to L.A.B? Fresh BOP boys ("Kora" brothers Brad & Stu, "Katachafire" Ara Adams-Tamatea and lead singer Joel Shadbolt). Some of their music may fit the genre you miss :) plus they're f**king good live
2020...loved this song from the get go. 40yrs old now, this shit makes me feel empowered to be a kiwi. AbSOULeutly love the good times associated with this, and all, of supergrooves sensational tunes...uplifting and heartwarming! Bring back supergroove!
So before there time , this band is one of new Zealand finest and they didn’t even know it, soooooo many babies were made listening to this group best memories ever
2021 still supergrooving it.. I remember when I was teenager back in the 90s lol and got my school blouse sighed by them .. think it's at my nanas lol ..
I walk around this town As buildings close and windows are boarded I think about you When I hear a door slam in the wind And the glass on the mat says welcome I think about you Sitting inside my head, Laughing at what I said Come on baby Let's have another toast You might think I'm dense, Laughing at my expense Let's fill the cup let's wash away the ghost In this ghost town where we live There's a wanted poster of you on every corner She keeps asking me 'who's that' and 'what's her name?' It's still 'Sitting inside my heaf' after all these years and those vocal adlibs!!!. Che Fu would sound so good doing some Stevie Wonder covers - Sir Duke, Do I Do, Ribbon In The Sky, Superstition, My Cherie Amour, As, For Once In My Life, You Are The Sunshine Of My Life, All I Do, Living For The City etc

Same here it's a classic 👌
And again in 2023 👌🏽
Always thought this band could've gone globally awesome!!
Kiwi!! 😆
Che Fu - top 10 NZ vocalists IMO. We don't have that many here. He is international quality.
Auckland in the 90s! I remember wagging school to see these guys at real groovy
Che Fu is such a cool brotha, he was at a place trying to chill & I drunkenly interrupted him, making a fool of myself, looking back I feel like a complete douche but he treated me with absolute respect and was so calm, I love that dude.
Id love to have met Che. I would have done the same if Id had a few!
Fuk che fu, he's a sell out

He's cool. Wonder why the white dudes in supergroove got rid of him. His subsequent solo albums vindicated his whakapapa...

I don’t think a lot of people realised at the time how good these dudes actually were. They were tight as fuck
Def underated and like sports in NZ def underfunded
They really were a class act.
Fat Freddy's before they were even a thing.
@@aidanjones4067 So much better than freddy's
My real name is actually the same as yours. Did you know they were once compared to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers by Rolling Stone magazine?
Che Fu 🇳🇺 kiwi legend from the Rock, still bumping for 2k19 🇳🇿

Oldie? Seriously you make me sound old, I remember this song like it came out yesterday.
Still one of the greatest songs and bands of all time!!!
59yrs old with the odd decent bout of arthritis. Doesn't stop me getting down to it though. I just can't help myself. Good times.

There is so much talent in NZ Writers producers performer this is old as but still fly still fresh thanks to musos who made it happen 🙏👏🏾😛
Best thing about this was Che, I think the guitaring detracts, he left and Supergroove imploded, meanwhile the Navigator became a huge hit.
What an excellent, very good song.
So good. So very very good. I'm here after watching "I'm an island boy" wow what polar opposites. This is talent, island boys are comedy.
Well, look what I was 23 years late for. Still fresh as.
Lon Sherrard better late than never. If you can stomach it, they play this song frequently on the rock.
Better late..... than never
Well look what I wasn't too late for. NZ has got some goodies, if you look. 3 years late!
