I had refreshing punch (the relic you're talking about) along with leaf, cookie and orange pegs and overwhamer in one run. My first shot on the board one shotted all enemies on the field but subsequent shots were lackluster. I think the relic should be buffed.
I can see only one place where the leaf would actually be good: when you've got the 'refreshes count as crits' relic *and* the 'multiple crits boost damage' relic.
Leaf’s balance seems to err on the side of being weaker but it does work with one build archetype: morbid. You’re trying to hit empty peg slots so having ‘worse’ refreshes helps keep the number of empty pegs high. Another one would be the relic that increases your stats as you refresh, meaning even with low peg numbers your spinesse/muscircle will make up for it with big damage. Personally, I just think they need to make it that leaf refreshes more pegs per refresh or allows EXTERNAL refreshes (refreshing on reload, orbs that refresh the board etc.) to refresh all pegs.
the leaf was good in the dragon fight because of the slimes and health regen but also because the fewer pegs prevent funneling. I did notice that the dragon fight pegs were steeply arranged but I still think the sparse pegs helped.

Leaf basically requires some of the other boss relics to even be viable, like Gift and Defresh Potion, alongside a very refresh heavy build. The only orb that I think benefits from hitting multiple refreshes is the Renewed Vigorb, definitely feels like something the higher cruciballs would do, like Refresh Pegs only refresh 75% of the board.
First time I’ve been early enough to get my comment seen since the upload change, and it’s cause I skipped class lol. Love all the current series tho, especially peglin and polybridge. Thank u for all the fun videos!
With the right synergy (this video being an example) leaf can give you incredible sustain, it seems like. Slow, like you said, but effective. It would be a good strategy to combine with balls that buff pegs. The longer you survive, the deadlier the board becomes.
I had no idea people hated the Leaf because my first and second run with it were both with the new Balladin and synergies that made refreshing absolutely insane
Leaf can be amazing in the right context. I got both "First Come, First Served" and "Critical Thinking" achievements in the same run. I don't remember all the details, but it had leaf, Critsomallos Fleece, and the relic that causes refreshes to act as crits. There was probably a Gift. I think there was some serious multiball happening, too (double Lvl 3 Summoning Circles, probably, and maybe a multiball relic or two, but I really don't remember).
The leaf plus refreshorb the orb that moves the crit and refresh spots plus the potion relic that allows refresh and crits move with a copy in its last spot as well as low crits for balladin, is amazing. I filled the board with refreshes from only 10 on the board. Just wish it was consistant with muscurcle.
Honestly, a good Leaf synergy would be Light-Shaft potion and Crit Fleece, since you're likely to hit a couple refreshes a shot with the build. You could go for a cash build with Rephilosipher Stone and Swashbucklorb, along with the gold cat and Pegalardo's Pendant.
Dear Tyler, for optimal leaf build you need other stuff to refresh the board propper like refreshiv and refreshorb to have the many refreshes but still have a intact board, pair that with on refresh buffs like the cookie to make a really good refresh build, and also have the alchemists cookbook(pegs can refresh into bombs) and the relic that lets you refresh bombs for the omega refresh build.
It should either refresh more pegs, if only like 6 per refresh to still be a challenge, or not effect other non board refreshes such as refresh orbs or relics to have more synergy in stead of anti synergy. maybe even an entire rework to add only 4 more refreshes but each one refreshes 20/25% of the missing board so it scales the more you start losing pegs, always keeping you at around half your board left
Hey Tyler I have some ideas for some ball that would be great if they added A. More sectorbs to choose from EX: light sectorb makes the ball lighter and hammer sectorb gets gets rid of piercing but add 4/4 and is heavy B. New pegs(maybe even be related to special boss fights)EX: a peg that swaps the balls position to a linked peg. C. A ball that changes damage(crit also changes) and gains random ability’s each battle that are hidden.EX: (max level) 2/4-4/6 and level one gives mostly negative effects then level two give positive affects and lastly max level give op effects like multiball and pierce.
lmao the timer, that was such a good bit. far as the leaf goes, I think for this particular run or seed or whatever, it was neither good nor bad so much as it was a sidegrade, because there's no way you were gonna lose with it and there's no way you were gonna lose without it, it's just that the leaf made you lean into healing instead of damage and slime effects

The real leaf combo is duplication relic, strange brew, and tactical treat. Your board stays full of greens.
my brain is conditioned to feel sleepy after watching an aliensrock video. im still not used to the new upload schedule. ill get used to it one day.
I guess that with all the missing pegs, the defresh potion would fix the leaf's downside
Yay! Aliensrock and peglin, what a nice day
the leaf was good in the dragon fight because of the slimes and health regen but also because the fewer pegs prevent funneling. I did notice that the dragon fight pegs were steeply arranged but I still think the sparse pegs helped.
he follows the ball with his head like a cat chasing a laser pointer.

16:58 Getting all 🔟🪙 should net a relic 🎁 ... and yes, I posted this to the Steam forum 📜
17:02 Inferno event needs a 3rd option: Focus, gain Infernorb level 3, take 15 damage 🔥
Leaf Relic requires several synergy relics to set up and be good ... on its own, needs a yuge buff
I've recently seen a run on #TimeToGrind 's channel with Leaf, Duplication, Refresher & Cookie
hey, someone has probably already tolds you this or you have found out about it, but i was doing a normal cruciball 13 run, gained some ballusion, then i shot a bramball... and the self damage missed?? i know it was the self damage because the little "Bweroo" sound played while the ball was in flight? im not even sure it was real, will try again in a custom game and will edit my comment with results.
YEAH! it totally works, later in the same game i avoided damage from red bombs with ballusion. dunno what you could do with this, maybe something like low health nosforbatu to save on that damage, double edged sworb would be awesome to avoid, and generally any other self damage sources! sorry for the typos, I was excited because i didn't see anyone else talk about this!
The more often you watch THE LITERAL FIRST SECOND of the Video the funnier it gets
the leaf is one of those things that seem good in concept but not that good in practice
I love the new timer moving for the new info.
But there seemed to be some sort of pacing/timing issue during the level 3 forest boss fight....
9:26 when you get 1st with triple mushrooms in mario kart 8 delux
I had no idea people hated the Leaf because my first and second run with it were both with the new Balladin and synergies that made refreshing absolutely insane
the concept of the leaf sounds super fun, it just needs a serious numbers buff.
Just wish it was consistant with muscurcle.
perfect schedule
i wanna see leaf combined with gift that keeps on giving
I finally assembled the Assemball for the first time today! It's awesome!
I have adjusted to and enjoyed the new upload schedule. It's still a little sad, but im happy if Tyler is happy with the changes!
Leeeeaaaaf, I’m blown away by this one!
If you need five relics to keep the leaf from being a net negative, the leaf isn't good.
@@thermophile1695 Exactly. If you need some of the best relics in the game to be good, face it hon, it's not good.
ngl i think the build with the leaf would have lost to the QR code boss cause of the damage scaling
I think the dragon's board has the same number of pegs, but they've been spread out to be less pyramid-like and more mound-like
It should either refresh more pegs, if only like 6 per refresh to still be a challenge, or not effect other non board refreshes such as refresh orbs or relics to have more synergy in stead of anti synergy. maybe even an entire rework to add only 4 more refreshes but each one refreshes 20/25% of the missing board so it scales the more you start losing pegs, always keeping you at around half your board left
9:58 - Before the word "gun" was invented.
Imagine he had the gift that keeps on giving on that shot timer😂😂
Great round, there are A couple of rogue-like games I think you would be very interested in. Crop rotation and dicey dungeons are very fun.
I have a large playlist on dicey dungeons already.
Hey Tyler I have some ideas for some ball that would be great if they added
A. More sectorbs to choose from EX: light sectorb makes the ball lighter and hammer sectorb gets gets rid of piercing but add 4/4 and is heavy
YESSS! Finaly a new pegging video. But rly tho Tyler’s peglin vids are always nice and refreshing.
You might want to look up what pegging means
@@thelizard7609we've watched enough of tyler pegging to know what pegging means don't worry
@@thelizard7609we all know what pegging means man
@@thelizard7609 I think everyone who makes a "pegging" joke in the comments understands what's going on. Trust us.
@@thelizard7609
Wooooosh
I think the leaf definitely needs to be worked alongside the gift that keeps on giving.
If you get the pipe or papers and a flame orb then leaf is pretty good man
The only builds I've had work well with Leaf have been Defresh Potion + Leaf... usually also with orbs that upgrade all pegs they hit
lmao the timer, that was such a good bit. far as the leaf goes, I think for this particular run or seed or whatever, it was neither good nor bad so much as it was a sidegrade, because there's no way you were gonna lose with it and there's no way you were gonna lose without it, it's just that the leaf made you lean into healing instead of damage and slime effects
I prefer the longer eps, but just happy for another peggle ep.
