Man, this DLC is insane. Just when you think you are done, you realise that you are only halfway there. We will be here for like a month at this rate. Also, the teleporters cycle. So you can just go through them at any time to get to next area.

Couple of things (no spoilers), 1: the teleporters cycle between destinations, so teleporter 1 takes you to teleporter 2 and teleporter 3 takes you to teleporter 4. 2. Cosmic finger can only give you animas if you don’t have 6 weapons already. 3. New passives are new to the base game, not specifically the dlc. 4. The stage has some anti-clipping measures, so you can’t skip the required bosses.
The characters with last name Belmont are all from a family of vampire killers, their family signature weapon is the whip, all of them figth with whips, this is why there are so many whips. Antonio is kinda of an ode to them.
Pretty sure that because he walked into the 2nd one with only 2 unlocked and thought they teleport between fixed spots instead of to the next unlocked one.
A couple of tips for getting around faster. 1. teleporters teleport you to the next unlocked one in the chain when you walk into them. 1->2, 2->3, 3->4 and 4->1 2. In the library you can walk though the empty bookshelves.
Man, you really need to play castlevania symphony of the night. So much of this dlc would make sense to you - like the teleporters and certain secrets. It’s my favorite game of all time
Some time in the next 10 years we will get the transparency slider we've been begging for so we can actually see what we are doing while we play this game XD
Look Dex I know you are worried about not being strong enough while exploring the map, but the item placement is deliberate along with the boss placement. It's a 'Hey! You can go here!' or a 'Look there's something interesting over here, why don't you investigate?', also there are just better choices to become stronger in your selection of Arcana if you just take what works already with your build rather than what's generally good but not great.
I guess a revival item is the closest analog the game has to the soul that was used to turn the whip of alchemy into the vampire killer in the Castlevania lore.
Yo Dex, I've been playing this non-stop (as well as the monster hunter wilds beta), and i just wanna say that im confident that there is a lot to do in this DLC! And I can't wait to see all of your base area runs and see how ridiculous this gets in the future. I want you to take your time on this because these videos help me be hyped like the contra vids, and the reruns help me get some sleep. Keep up the content, my friend!
I had a broken run (after I finished the story). It was on random level ups. Several weapons that could be picked up from the stage were sealed, as was the characters main weapon. It took 15 reapers to actually do more damage than I healed. I ran into a side scrolling section which killed all reapers. After that I was invincible. So I decided to kill all bosses and then ended the run after 90 minutes because nothing could touch me.
20:00 Your not my Supervisor! In case you read my comment on your last video and got confused about the angel hearts, they don't up your damage, it must be boss defeat based.
@@Fishman465 There was a sharp difference in how tanky enemies on the new stage where depending on how much progress i'd made through the castles bosses. It's permanent though so probably tied to the door unlocking relics.
I hope no one is digging at Dex for not knowing things, it's funny considering how heavily VS is inspired by it for sure but not worth being mean about lol.
Hey dex, i really love your content and vampire survivors in general. In this period im not spending money, but i really want to get the DLCs and having a limited budget is not that great. Hey Dex, I feel like you’d like the game vampire hunters. There are some crazy weapon combinations that can be made. It’s at least worth the try to look at it in my opinion.
By the way Dex, the dude from the "genie bear demon" thing wasn't transformed, it was a summon sorta deal, yoy couldnt see it under all the graphical effects from your weapons but he's just normally walking towards you with that gisnt monster shadow extending from his back like it's bursting out of him. I haven't played the game he's from (only Castlevania i personally played was order of ecclesia and it was so long ago I can barely remember anything except absolutely loving it and grinding it insanely for the rare drops until my ds broke) but it's definitely not a transformation sort of deal, more like a summoning gone wrong. Or maybe its a JoJo reference, xD

You played my build :). I always take that darkana that spawns elves and eyeballs with chests first, then madgroove or crystal cries, and third is hail from the future. It's so broken. I always end up surrounded by chests, and Hail gives me extra weapons and secondaries. I foresee a nerf coming. Enjoy then while you can.

There’s a relic called pile of secrets that once collected adds a ton of new secrets in the secrets menu, it’s insane

My first run with Leon, I went for all the whips. Full throttle Belmont.😅 ❤ this DLC.
Oh, the Svarog Statue caused the trail of fire. I forgot everyone else who got the Whip of Alchemy didn't have that 'til I saw this.

The teleports most likely cycle you through all available gates, so if you went back one last time you wouldn't have to return by foot.

The weapon of this character screams for a build with alle the whips and the Spellslingers. :D

20:57 I am sure many will mention that Parm Aegis (which makes the weapon evolve) gives you more invulnerability time on hit, but there's also Laurel.
At this point this game should have a toggle weapon effects. Knowing we can get this many weapons in one run is already crazy we just need a toggle.

I love the DLC and did what you did, disabled all other DLC. After some runs, I also turned off regular weapons, only getting Castlevania weapons

I don't remember which has Raging Fire, but I know that Gale Force comes from the Jack The Ripper looking enemy halfway up the tower climb section
Ranging fire is Charlotte starting weapon.

I havent been able to play this stage without it going just absurd.. Made the mistake of taking orpheon with jacked area, and, blind.
