    Thank You so much for this series. Ive recently returned to GW2 after many years away. Im starting fresh and started a toon of each class to get a feel for them again and pick my main. I had a stack of 20-60 boosts in the mail that ill be using to start just above level 1 but going to go through each race story from start to finish regardless. Last time I skipped story entirely and was just rushing end game. What a mistake. Again thank you, these videos are an incredible resource.

      I'm in the same exact situation, and love these build guides for the same reason. I feel like after watching Heroic Flamingo's guides I have a much much better understanding of the game's and each profession's mechanics because of the deliberate effort to explain the basics along with the advanced stuff in each guide. End game build guides are all fine and good, but without using level 80 boosts, which I avoid, understanding the basics is key, and almost nobody else goes into depth with that stuff in their guides.

    Suggestion from someone currently leveling a 27 guardian at the moment. Get "Advance!" as soon as possible. It gets you around so much faster, especially if you don't have a mount. Leap of Faith and then Advance! to get where you want to be. Just steer clear of monsters, because you will attack them.

      @@indiechoices I played Thief and Engi as well when i started out!
      Thief´s playstyle was enjoyable, but I fell in love with the Engi elite spec Scrapper as dps, tank or support.
      Before level 80 engi is a bit weird, but it´s worth the grind. Holosmith is mostly a dps elite spec.
      Later boosted a Revenant (Renegade) which is also a lot of fun with lots of mobility, sustain and damage. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to solo many HoT and PoF hero points with the free Soldier gear from boosting.
      I´d recommend you try out the classes that interest you in PvP (you´ll be upscaled to level 80 so you can even try out the elite specs and different weapon types). Most classes can fill any role based on the skills, weapons and stats you choose.

    • @ryukjoga
      @ryukjoga 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HeroicFlamingo For sure!! The trait 1 of Virtue gives you 20% while Aegis is up, you'll always have aegis when entering combat and 20% boost is a lot to give up for the trait 2, which is okay and helps with survivability. But you can also activate the virtue to give more aegis if you lose the passive one and thus get the 20% dmg back in the fight. I just tried to maximaze the dps for open world content as i find it not that hard 😋😋

    • @HeroicFlamingo
      @HeroicFlamingo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, most open world content is pretty manageable so it's probably worth sacrificing a bit of survivability for the joy of cutting through your enemies like a hot knife through butter 😃 nice one!

    Thanks for this great leveling guide! I am a bit confused because you recommend 1 h sword with focus as 2nd weapon set but every 1 h sword I look at says I need willbender specialization to use. Even the wiki claims guardians can use 1 h sword and says that willbender just unlocks offhand sword. Very confused about that as it seems like everyone agrees guardian can use 1h sword and I'm wondering if that's a recent update to the profession that they no longer can (without willbender).
