Really appreciate this video, thank you very much! I'm a brand new GW2 player and was really struggling to find a comprehensive guide online for a levelling build for my elementalist as almost every build video talks about the elite specialisations. This is a fantastic guide & great video idea! Yes I know ele is not beginner friendly at all but I just didn't gel with the necromancer/guardian/ranger so wish me luck trying out one of the more complicated classes first thing 😅 If I could give any feedback I would just ask to clarify (so sorry if you've included this information!) that in guild wars 2 you can freely swap weapons, you won't be able to use certain types of weapons until level 80, and you won't need to reset hero points to pick different training - coming from other MMOs this was something I didn't get about the game until I read through the comments and was throwing me off every time I tried to understand how the game works based on people's build videos - e.g. how you do your levelling build has no effect on your late game build because you can swap over to something else. Sorry for the long comment!
Me as an Elementalist main with thousands of hours on the class: Interesting. Awesome guide! It's well organized and easy to understand. Hopefully more new guys playing GW2 find this. Cheers!
Thank you so much for this leveling build guide! I'm new to GW2 and everything I kept seeing was for a max level end game build which I'm not ready for yet. This was exactly what I needed.
Thanks for the tutorial! Just started out playing the game.and my first class is the elementalist! Ive been having a lot of fun with the different abilities!
Hey, if you don’t mind me asking, how do you reset that? I’m very new, and my first caracter will be reaching lvl 30 this week (literally just started playing) and I spent my point very poorly!
@@dragonlloux I just delete characters after selling unnecessary items and yeah never destroy pouches keep them in bank slots ...yeah I do have heart breaks when deleting them but they are not that high level just roughly lvl 20 or so.
Great video! Nice work. This is the leveling build I'm using as well and I can guarantee it works wonders. Only difference is I use a staff instead - it's slower, but the range lets your army of elementals do the work while you coordinate from the backline.
I did not know that elementalist could have a army of pets. I wish you could have a second autoattack on the pet ability. So you always have one out or don't forget to press the key while in combat doing complex stuff.
I boosted my Ele to get the raptor mount but I've worked through the story and now going for world map completion. I've preferred sceptre over dagger myself. I think it's the extra range it gives.
@@HeroicFlamingo It might not be the best DPS for sure. But the ranged AoE feels more comfortable for me. I'm pretty new and haven't learned the finer arts of swapping attunements in combat so my rotation is mostly "panic spam something when it's available" 🤣
Using melee weapons with a light armor class can be a bit risky as a new player so I don't blame you 😂 the trick is to learn which skills to prioritise so when you're spamming buttons, you're still doing decent damage 😃
@@HeroicFlamingo i saw somewhere that the secret to learning new complex skills is to learn one thing at a time to a point that you do it without thinking, and slowly pile up on top of that, in no time you will be found 3-4 things that would usually require though automatically, and will be able to progress ever further. The example was about driving, how first you learn your checks, and where the hands go, but eventually you can do all your checks, pedals, gear and even hold a conversation with a passenger as easy as getting a glass of water
Rlly nice idea make more of these please! Also I would like to have some guides for specific nice items one could get after getting 80 like wings cool weapons because I am 80 and have no clue where to get those really fancy stuff or which one to get first or which one I could get the fastest if you understand what I mean.
Amazing work! would be really great to do a detailed guide like this on Weaver and Tempest (tow most complicated spec to learn, and I know it is gonna take up a lot of time) but you just can't find any videos on covering these two haha
Only negative comment I have is that you need to explain hp so the new player knows how to earn them for their skills and specializations. Otherwise, this was very helpful for setting up my new boosted toon for SoTo expansion coming out this summer! Hugs 🤗
Yeah, I iniitally made a thief, then an alt revenant cuz I bought the Expansion collection, for the alt Crafting and another dump of daily EXP, and then an Elementalist for another Alt Crafter, and all the various quirks were way more complex than Thief or Revenant. That's why I'm here.
I remember when lightning hammer was the go-to weapon / skill for open world elementalist, but that was so many years ago. I'm guessing it's not as good as it used to be, or other options got better.
Omg thanks this is sooo helpful!!! Would you be able to let me know (if you have the time) how to prioratize staff skills? :) very curious. Again thanks for the awesome video!
In my experience, as you move up your skill bar for 2-handers, the more impactful the skill. I usually hit the 4 or 5 on cooldown; not a hard and fast rule, but that's generally how things work. For example,, if your 4 or 5 is a CC, you want to hold off on that until the right moment. Looking at you, Meteor Shower, Staff Fire 5. If you're building for Power, you want to priotize your Strike skills. If you're on a Condition build, prioritize your Burn / Bleed skills.
I have a few questions, 1- is there a way to reset the specialisation and hero points spent? 2- how does the stats calculation work for dual weapons? For example, a 2 handed staff always seems to have more damage then any one handed weapon of a similar level, does that means that stats from both dual hand weapons are counted? Or just the main hand one? Is it worth it going back to lower level zones in order to farm missions? I know that our power is fixed to be impair with the area, but is there a XP difference? I am currently around level 23, so I am constantly going for quests lvl 25, is there a advantage to that?
There is no need for reset hero points(HP). Till level 80 lvl you have enought Hero points for bought all specializations and change them whenever you wish. As leveling do as you wish. Fastest leveling is going for farming mobs that are 5+ lvl above you, and more long they are live on map, they give more bonus XP. I leveled sometimes 10 lvls per hour in lazy farming, but its quite borring. GW2 is designed to level as you wish. As my first character, I always try to get map completion. Its up to you, no need to force yourself to do what is "best".
@@ukasz9430 this is great info, I was wondering about reset HP because I didn’t want to wait to collect Al the point as a bunch was used in stuff I don’t use at all, but that will work too!
