- Today we are transforming our patio for summer! This came together with some elbow grease, a gazebo, and some thrifted and free furniture and decor. I wanted to achieve a rustic, European, country inspired look out here and I think we got pretty close!

Brava, Emily! Keep on being you! I also had 3 babies in less than 5 years. I experienced postpartum depression/anxiety all 3 times. The first time was such a shock! I don’t think anyone can understand it unless they’ve been through it. One day in the future, you will look back at these baby years, & be amazed by your strength & grace. And perhaps future-you will reach out to a new mom with your hard-won empathy, & the circle will be unbroken. Peace.

Keep the cool free side of the road chairs they are great!! Just take a sanding along too them and spray some stain on them or wipe them down and put an inexpensive cushion on them. I love them!!!!
You’re right! I should try that. Structurally they still have life in them
@@EmilyGarbe You could also break off that broken part and replace it with a new small piece from the hardware store... you'd just need to nail it in from the sides. That way it's a littlre more structurally sound!
Everything looks so good! The tree stumps are perfect for outdoor seating/tables. Getting your creative juices flowing is so important. Looks like a good balance of motherhood and creativity.

I am like you , when I feel stressed I get into what my husband calls mad cleaning . I have to get out And deep clean or start a project that I can finish, something about it bins to therapeutic and satisfying . I was alway a high energy person, so having to sit around make me anxious. Yard look great ! 👍

Wow, what an amazing transformation! I’m currently trying to style my patio,( a rental twin home with many restrictions). I found a set of chairs I tried repairing,( unfortunately my first attempt was a total failure but I’m not giving up!) 😂

You mentioned previously that the house you live in is your parents and you are making all your lovingly thought out changes for them when you retire. Will you then have to start from scratch and buy your own home? I fully understand that you may not wish to respond but I’ve had some concern since you first mentioned it. Thanks you for letting us into your home and your life. 😀
Yes! I’ve always been taught to leave a place better than I found it so I guess that’s a bit of my mindset but also should note that my parents really do the majority of the work on this home and finance all of the renovations. I get to make a lot of the design decisions and learn so much along the way. I would love to make design into a career so it’s been really invaluable to me 🥰

Hi Emily I don’t know how I missed this video. I have been so busy. Your patio is amazing. Dominic up is amazing too. I wish we had the bins and I did not know there was solar bulbs. We got brick pavers from an old convent . It is good size. We went and dug them out of the ground, made a patio ( not perfect) and a brick walk way in one day. We were younger than..lol.
You are doing great. Take time for yourself. My niece said postpartum is just so hard. Congrats to Dominic. He will do great. I just can not believe the transformation…absolutely amazing. Love to all of you. ❤❤❤

I know exactly what you mean by miserable! Florida heat is NO joke! I'm from Tennessee but we're actually in Zephyrhills, just outside Tampa, staying with my son & his family for awhile. At 12:30 it was 103° with the heat index.. so yeah I'm here with you, and i feel you...I do not don't like hot🥵 Its just 80° back home! But I've got to learn to handle it, we may be moving down permanently! I gotta find the good thrift & antique stores!😁 I found a antique mall online in Shady Hills called RMB's Arts & Antiques, hope to ck it out soon! Have you ever been there? I also found a Good Will bins about 12mi from here. I've never been to a GW bins, so I'm excited to ck that out! Well you sure jumped into the cutest little jumper, and it looks really cute on you! The little kids set turned out so sweet, great color! The basket light is perfect, and love the string lights! I'll sometimes start off using gloves and end up bare handed 🤷♀️ Its dirt, i was raised in the country, the dirt was my play ground.. it washes off with soap & water😉😄 Love the chaise! Using the stumps is so creative & cool..i like it! I think it turned out beautifully! Your hard work paid off, excited for the final reveal! I know you guys will really enjoy the space all year round. And A big CONGRATS to Dominique!! God is so good🙌 You're not that far from me, if there's any thrift or antique stores worth the drive let me know😊 Enjoyed & TFS!
The heat is brutal! Should have come in January haha this time of year is our “winter” where we stay inside a lot more really. I haven’t ventured up to where you are at. The patio looks awesome. However, you are not going to be happy with me. That vine you like, I always pull out because it is an invasive plant that wraps around my hibiscus. I will try to be less vicious, and we will see how that works.

Oh my goodness really? If you do not have pets ....and know how to use hot water, a nail brush and soap, putting hands in dry dirt to plant a flower is fine and actually proven to be therapeutic.
Eating UPFs and drinking soda pop is potentially more harmful😊to the body.
