Kurt, I'm glad your ankle was less painful. Barb and the others are being spoilsports in not playing along with the round/square bale of hay joke! All the best! (I am on the edge of my seat for your much-deserved final walk into Bluff!) 😃
Curious how your longwood experience will be :) IMO the muddiest section of the trail, even muddier than raetea Forrest, still easier to walk. Very windy on top. The good thing, for me at least was, the fact it was the last challenge of the trail. Coming out of that Forrest was so great :) it is also very beautiful!
The Longwoods are probably the most talked-about section after the Richmond Range. Partly because of the mud, and partly because it's supposed to be the last difficult section..
I'm curious which section was overgrown. I cut back the part between the end of the pine forest road and where the native forest starts Nov 2023, that narrow muddy track, but if there's new tree fall in there let me know and I'll sort it. It was pretty bad last year and impassable in places.
Thanks for the work you've done! The overgrown part was through the native forest part until we crossed the fence at the end of the forest. Around 2900-2901 on this year's trail.
@freedom_on_the_trail no worries, that's Island Block so all good, yes it was closed for 2 years for logging so will need a touch up. Great vids, cheers
The wild-erness of TA is no walk in the park is it. As much as being in nature - is the 'as it comes' of the track. It's sheer ruggedness, business, and sometimes emptiness. A joke can only be told so many times, and others never more than once. That's mine when I forget the story, and worse still - the punchline. Such jokes as yours will eventually be relegated to the fondest of memories. Lost & found - sometimes a joyful mystery. Don't swallow the locations! Days ahead - joy to come. Noho haumaru 🫂 🙏

Starting to wonder what my morning routine is going to be like next week without a new video to wake up to.
I was thinking the same; what will we all do ? 😂
Start planning for our own AT walk
Yeah same!!! No more Gooooood morning!😂
@@PaulOBrien.575 That sounds ok, do you think that these three would like to be guides?
Apparently I’ll need to make a “Gooooooood morning” video so people can start their day off right. 😂😂😂

That first statement may just be the biggest understatement of the year!!😂
