Now here I am at 21 years old and I just ran my first half marathon after training for months because I went back through the old vlogs and saw all the motivation Casey put into running. Thank you for inspiring me Casey! 👟💨

I used to run like that in the Army. 14 miles a day - no prob! When I was 18 my knees were injured in the Army. I tried to run for 2 more years but couldn't without severe swelling - I think I never had time to properly heal. So I have not run really for 20 years other than the chasing kids kind of thing. But I think it could be possible now. I have had tons of physical therapy. This vid gives me hope. I hate not being great at stuff. Thanks for sharing this.

I finished my run near a McDonald’s and I bought every homeless person there some food. I felt on top of the world. Pulled up to my exam on the dot, made a 100% and sweated the whole time. Dear Casey, My name is August.
On January 2nd, 2015. I was diagnosed with ewings sarcoma, which is a rare pelvic bone cancer which form in teens mostly. I turned 20 six days later. Six months later i had half of my pelvis removed in order to remove almost all of the cancer from my body. Though i was lucky because the cancer was only in an isolated part of my body, I still am in the process or learning how to walk again. I've watched a lot of your stuff for the past month or so, but this video right here hits close to home. I also had doctors tell me i might not ever walk again, let alone run. I've had up and down struggles throughout my journe, but this video really inspires me to push harder everyday. I appreciate what you do and i aspire to be such a good cinematographer as you. I enjoy photography the most. Please keep on doing what you do, You know that millions of people watch these videos, but you never know how much of an impact your work will have on someone, such as myself. Thank you for helpng me get through the darkest of times.

+August Stamper Dont ever let someone tell you what you can and cant do, i had a rock climbing accident in which i basicly exploded my calcaneus(heel), i was unable to walk for 4 months and in a cast. rehabilitation was one of the most painfull things i have ever done at times i was considering giving up due to the pain and being content with the loss of that leg, i was told i would never climb again by multiple specialists. I wasnt prepared to accept that, the past 5 years of my life had been dedicated to training to Climb El Capitain in Yosemite. After battling through the pain, rehab, surgery, i started climbing again. It took me another 2 years to build my legs backup to the state they were in before my accident as not walking for 4 months gave me chicken legs. I climbed El Cap in june this year with my partner and completed one of my life long goals.
What the mind does the body will follow. Prove those DRS wrong! push through the pain. chase your dreams!
I wish you the very best.

I was in school and I couldn't join the Cross country running. There was fee to it, needed nice shoes and my parents were all on saving mode. I grew up and around 15 I ran my first mile as a part of physical education class test. I couldn't finish it first, and I was exhausted but that was the first. Years later, in 21's I started running when I moved to the US, and I started getting Shin splints, so much I couldn't walk and I guess i gave up on running at that point but focused on gym. Anyways, this past year, I've started running again, 5 miles every Sunday, 3 during weekdays and I made this whole huge comment just to say Casey you inspired me. I feel just something simple as running is a great gift to us as humans and its the best thing we can do to out health and well being. I still don't know how you manage to shoot videos while running and keeping that pace but hey you're amazing. So glad, you're on TH-cam and not in 'mainstream' and inspiring everyone for creativity, life, health and more.
    Thank you @Casey Neistat.

Nice work Casey. I am 17 from India and I am a para national shooter (handicapped) too. I have a disease called congenital lymphoedema since birth, because of which there is swelling on both my legs below knees. It is pretty rare too, when I was born doctors said that there are only four people in India suffering with this. My father is an Indian army personnel and my mother is a house wife. My parents did everything they could, consulted every major doctor in India within 6 months of my birth. All the doctors said that before doing anything like surgery or experimenting anything my parents should wait until I can walk or can't walk, treatment will depend. I started walking and then doctors said that you are blessed that he can walk, let it be, do not try anything else. Let him live his life normally. I am 17 now and I used to run and cycle a lot. I loved running, jumping over things and cycling. But about two years back, problems started with my legs and pain started. I was issued a handicapped certificate, I can still walk but can't run or stand for long. I won gold medal in national shooting championship last December. What I believe in life is that everything happens for a reason. If life takes something from you it means that it has prepared something better for you, you just have to work a little bit harder to earn it back. I thought I should share this. I love capturing moments too but I don't own a camera, I do it on my phone only.
GEAR DOES NOT MATTER, STORY DOES. Thank you for influencing Casey. God bless you.

+Yunus B that's his long run days, most people only run long distance runs maybe 1-2 times a week, and around under 6-8 on off days. But immortals will run in the 100+ mile range per week, Casey probably doesn't run that much I'm sure but he probably gets in about 40-50. Not bad at all, I sit at around 30 in a 4 day run period.

Sleep at least 8 hours. I went from not being able to run 2 miles in under 16 minutes to bring able to run a 12 minute 2 mile in one month after I started.
