if that is the case, then you have to ask yourself what you actually want from life. and even if you don't find something that you can't make excuses for, just ask yourself if it's really a good thing to just do nothing in the meantime until you find that purpose. why not just try stuff out, even if it might be annoying, disappointing or exhausting. in the end, every experience is worth it. failing is just another way to say 'at least i tried'
"Excuses are the obstructions that become the reason for you abandoning your dreams." I ABSOLUTELY needed to hear that. I'm glad I haven't let my obstructions become excuses. And I have no intentions of letting that happen. So glad I subscribed to this channel, it brings me happiness and pure insight on a daily basis. Thank you, Casey.

Such a big inspiration man, this is for what I been subbed to this channel -and maybe the big reason to been making changes in my life-. Thanks for bring this stories to us Casey. Regards from Chile 🇨🇱
Yes, I can relate to this! Sometimes, I don't know what direction to go and some Casey videos like these always help me to find a way, work harder and create more.
I met Quinton when I was about nine. He was living with my sister Toni while she was at uni in Adelaide. He was just as jolly and positive then, in the early 2000s. He is an inspiration and when you meet him you forget about his disability easily. He turns it into ability. I'm privileged to have met him before any of his success. Because it shows me that attitude is everything. And you don't necessarily develop a good one during or after success, but rather cultivate it before hand.
Seeing amazing people like Quinten really gives you a new perspective on all your obstructions. Often times, the things we stress over aren't actually that significant. So, go get'em!
One of the biggest problems in today's society is that people don't know what their passion is. That's a common problem I find with people who are stuck. Once you've found your thing though, the rest is easy. You just gotta work extremely hard. Put in the hours, improve your craft, always focus on getting better at what you do. Also, never blame anyone but yourself for your failures. You've only ever got yourself to blame. Never rely on anyone else either. It's all on you. Just go and WORK. But before any of that, you've got to find your passion first. Which for some people, can be very tricky. But EVERYONE has something.
JordanRants although I agree with most of this to work productively you do need to help from others and if you never accept it and rely on them then you will never be as successful as you can be. One person can only go so far alone (this is why Casey has brought in Dan). I also think a healthy balanced work life is the most productive. I myself am a filmmaker running my own business at 19 years old and I have found that taking a break from constant work clears my mind to think of new ideas. Just a few thought but I do like your sentiment! :)
Jordan!! Wasn't expecting to see you here haha. I agree tho finding your passion, and for me that also meant finding my purpose, was the hardest step to working towards my dream. The rest is easy but lots of hard work, but it's easy if you love it!
Md Ayaan idk.. Time flies so fast.. When someone say 20 years or 10 years ago.. You suddenly that it's in 80s and then you realise that, no, you're in 2018 already..
Casey, of all your videos that I’ve watched and loved. This one is the one that hit me in the brain and heart the most. “When you compromise and you fail, it really hurts. It hurts more than failing at what you love” I compromised my love for music once, never again. Thank you 🙏
I love how Quentin pivoted the conversation from his accolades and achievements to his friends and family. We're all so growth and numbers oriented that we forget how fundamentally important relationships are in our lives.
I watched this when you originally posted it but it just popped up again. I just landed a dream job that I’m excited about but also very nervous and intimidated about. I really feel like this video was reintroduced to me for a reason. Thanks.
Life is all about perspective and Quentin owned the #*$@ out of the obstructions in his way. Such a cool dude who will live on through everyone he inspired. RIP
Came back to see this video again just as people will for a long time. Even though he's not here, his impact on the world will continue on. Rest in peace Quentin
I'll NEVER compromise on my dreams, no matter how few subscribers or views I have. My biggest obstruction is often my own insecurities! 😅 Thank you for inspiration, Casey!
Hey Casey ! I'm your neighbor, and just wanted to say this is so amazing and love your work!!! I'm from the Kurdish region of Iraq and been through lots of war but yet had the privilege to shake hands with you!! Cheers 🙏🏻
Quentin passed away recently. He was a friend of mine, an amazingly gutsy disability advocate as well as an actor and producer. I’m so glad this video helps his legacy to live on. Rest In Peace Q 🌈⭐️
I love how you create visuals to demonstrate your point Casey. Those obstructions really do look like things that could either be moved out of the way, or turned into sad red excuses for settling for less than you really want. Well done.
He did overcome it. He’s an american citizen now and has been living here for more than 30 years, and adopted EVERYTHING in America’s name. Certainly doesn’t plan on living in Canada now does he?
In United States they refer to each other as "Americans", we all know that America is a continent, but that's how it is in EEUU, for example, You call German, someone from Germany, Someone from England "British", From Mexico "Mexican", Brazil "Brazilian",Italy "Italian", and the list goes and goes, the point is that they don't have another word to use excepting "American" (they do but.. that's a story that you can google)
Second Attempt Hi Casey, I need to translate this video into Arabic. please give the access to "contribute" in Translation. I have a fine ability to translate into Formal Arabic. this video is very important to me and may be some others that need it.
Yes because if not for his inspiring story it would be easier to follow Denmark and abort babies with conditions like his before they have a chance to over come their obstacles. This is one of the negative implications to a laissez faire abortion policy.
I am one of those dumb ass people that tends to use obstructions as excuses. I even had a very good example that was shown to me how I shouldn't do that. I have been a fan of the TV reality show called Survivor since the very first episode that was ever aired. My brother, Billy for years kept telling me to audition but I kept making excuses. "I can't leave my job, I'm too fat, I can't swim..." (I thought that last one was the best excuses ever). LOL! One day I happened to find out that they were holding auditions at the Jacob Javits Center here in NYC. I told my brother about it in passing. He said, "Are you going? Are you going to audition?" I got very annoyed and snapped at him saying, "NO! You go!" He got annoyed back and said, "Fine, I will!" So Billy did. He went and audition. After many months and many call backs he was asked to go to the final 50 interviews in LA. When he came back he said his arm hurts because they gave him a immunization shot. My mouth dropped open because I knew exactly what that meant. He made it! He got on the show! A few weeks later my brother, Billy went to the Cook Islands as one of 20 contestants on Survivor fighting for a chance to win one million dollars. He didn't win. In fact, he was the second person voted off the show that season but just being in the show opened doors for him that he could have never imagined. He has acted in a few horror movies, he has done a Doritos commercial, he does countless of charity works, he has been on numerous TV shows (including The David Letterman Show), starred in a documentary movie about reality TV and he still to this day does interviews and podcasts from around the world. And that is just naming a few of the opportunities that came to him as a result of being on Survivor. Every now and then Survivor asks if he can play again but some how the producers keep changing the format and theme of the season making picking Billy no longer a perfect fit for that particular game. But Billy never gives up hope. He loves riding the wave and has every intention to keep riding it for as long as he can, which so far has been 12 years now. So you may ask, what is the moral of this overly long story? The moral of the story is... The only failures in life is in not trying.

I just found out about Quentin through this video and I'm deeply grateful to you Casey, for conveying your message about 'No Excuses' through a shining example like Quentin. Thank you for sharing this!
Actually, grabbing the brass ring doesn't mean getting lucky in life. The brass ring was actually a part of a carousel, and if you would reach out and grab the brass ring, you would get a free ride. So what he actually said was that he pushed himself to reach out, and accomplish what others, and possibly himself, didn't think that he could do. Also, great video Casey.

Why hasn’t anyone commented on the obscene amount of little pancakes made at the beginning of the vlog?!!!! How does anyone have time to make so many little pancakes?!

The less you have, the less you have to lose - the easier it is to dare to go for your ultimate dream
