I'm really glad OP and Finn came out of this situation in a good place; Sarah def needs to take a good long look at herself and shy she got so upset and thought it was a good idea to behave the way she did without any consideration for OP or Finns side. I wish them all the best 💙
The fact is it sounds like she would’ve isolated him and been, at the least, emotionally abusive. But Finn is a bit of an asshole or he’s blind as hell because how didn’t he see how bad this was going?
I imagine the friend just said something along of the lines of "yeah me and OP get on great, if he was a woman and wife him up!" as a drunken joke and it came out weird.
Yeah, also I bet had Sarah said something along the same lines about another girl and Finn made even a single comment about it she would have said "STOP BEING INSECURE!"
Sarah's unhinged, honestly. She needs serious help. All this over a drunken comment made before they ever even started dating... wow.
So op is a pushover Sarah is unhinged and definitely created a scenario in her head and Finn had something going on with him back in the day ok
Welp guess it’s my job to be paragraph guy then:
So basically Finn and OP’s messages start getting muted randomly and no one knows who, OP doesn’t wanna blame Sarah bc he doesn’t want to come off as judgy.
Whenever Finn and OP have plans Sarah suddenly needs something so the plans have to be cancelled. OP just stops hanging out with Finn bc he doesn’t want to get in the way of their relationship and the constant cancelling is getting annoying. Through all of this Finn keeps trying to spend even amounts of time but OP insists on him hanging out with Sarah.
Finn and Sarah get engaged, and Sarah posts on her insta with the caption “better than all the rest”, ppl question Finn if he cheated but he says he has no clue what the caption is about.
Sarah originally agreed to let OP be best man (Finns only request for wedding plan) before changing her mind later and saying she wants her brother to be Best Man.
Sarah shows the seating chart and OP has been put far away from pretty much everyone he knows.
OP asks for advice on what to do and the post ends.
Update 1: Finn swings by OPs place and says he was just in the area. OP decides to show Finn the post. Finn gets a bit sad that OP wasn’t comfortable telling him about all this earlier, OP asks what he might’ve done to Sarah to cause all of this. Basically back when Sarah and Finn first met they were drunk with some mutual friends and played a confessions game, where Finn admitted out loud that he sometimes wished that OP was a girl so they could get together, bc Finn’s not gay but he’s kinda into OP. OP basically says wtf bro and tells him he needs to talk to Sarah bout this. Finn agrees and says he’ll call back after they have a talk.
Update 2: Finn and Sarah had the talk but Finn never called OP back. At a meetup Sarah glares at OP so he knows the talk happened but doesn’t know how it went. Finn pulls OP and Sarah outside after dinner and tells Sarah to apologize, Sarah says she shouldn’t have to because OP and Finn’s relationship is “weird”. OP says that Finn’s drunken confession years ago isn’t his (op) fault. Sarah starts screaming but OP can’t tell what she’s saying. Finn’s family come outside and convince Sarah to go back in the house to calm down. Finns brother and dad are filled in, and briefly tease Finn for his drunken comment. Finns mom and sister come back outside and ask if OP and Finn are banging, they said they’ve never been anything other than platonic. Sarah comes back out and screams at OP calling him a liar. Finn pulls Sarah aside, they get into a screaming match then calm down, Sarah walks back to the group like everything’s fine before backhanding OP. OP basically says enough is enough and starts to leave, with Finn and Sarah screaming in the bg again. As OP is getting his stuff from inside he hears Sarah’s screams turn into pleading. Finn has taken Sarah’s engagement ring and is saying her “toddler temper tantrum” isn’t something he wants in a relationship and basically calls the wedding off. Finn and Sarah drove to the home together so Finn has her get into the car so he’ll drive her home then he’ll go back to his parents home to sleep away from her for a while. As everyone’s going back to their cars Sarah starts frantically apologizing to OP for her behavior, but OP doesn’t care and pretty much just ignores her. Finn calls OP after he gets back to his parents house, but OP is too tired and doesn’t answer. A few days go by and Finn and Sarah still aren’t speaking but Finn is sending OP memes so their friendship seems relatively undamaged.
Update 3: about a week after the dinner Sarah and Finn are definitely never getting back together. OP and Finn have a convo about boundaries for their future partners and essentially promise to not let partners come between their friendship again. Finn goes back to Sarah and His house with OP to collect his things. Sarah wasn’t home when they got there and OP’s apartment is big enough for Finn to stay with him for a while. Finn and Sarah’s last communication before he blocks her is just basically him saying there’s no hard feelings as he understands she’s not mentally stable and she needs to get help for her trust issues before jumping into another relationship, that there is definitely no chance for reconciliation, and that he wishes her well.
There’s also a mini update where OP and Finn’s family went on a vacation to build their friendship back together. And OP calls Finn his “platonic soulmate ”

It seems so, but this whole fiasco apparently started from drunk comment from Finn wishing OP was a girl, which he's not. And before they even dated, at that. Girly's got some _raging_ (literally and figuratively) insecurity for whatever reason. Idk what Finn's sexuality is (though the aforementioned comment would indicate he's straight), but it's not going anywhere with OP anyway since OP doesn't have anything but platonic feelings for Finn.
@@narliehs1648 consider that OP said that they have never had a partner. if Sarah has never seen OP with anyone even casually and OP and Finn have a really close relationship, Finn's statement could cause a reasonable person to wonder.
@@karumehickman No, not really. Just because they're close and OP has never had a relationship, that doesn't mean anything. OP's relationship status/history is none of her business, and she may not even know. This jealousy all seems to stem from that one comment, made ages ago. She let it stew in her brain instead of communicating with Finn about it at literally any point until the blow-up. Hell, she might've even brought it up to OP and he would've shut that down. But she tried to cut him out of Finn's life entirely.
@@narliehs1648 no one said that it meant something just that it's something that could easiiy cause someone to wonder. what goes on with OP is her business if he is as tight with her dude as the story seems to suggest. That isnt a slight on OP but rather her letting the issue marinate in her brain which is almost never good.
@@karumehickman It wasn't her business, but if she really just _had_ to know, she should've bit the bullet and asked one of them. She didn't- she just assumed. If she had just asked, the issue would've been done and dusted long ago.
