I too was in tears. After his dismissal from RB he became my underdog but he truly is a super talented driver. I look forward to the day the dream team of Gasly and Russell are announced at Mercedes.

Gasly was just a bit early at Red Bull, but is shining at Alpha Tauri. He should be in the hunt for a podium consistently next year with regulation changes.
i would argue seb also but redbull didn't really let him mature at redbull like seb did, even seb made mistakes and see what he became at that very team.
@@reubenashok937 there was no way gasly was going to come anywhere near max in the RB seat, he was getting lapped in several races by Max, for Seb it was a different case
@@avinash_8723 well the car was built for max so it makes sense, no one until checo was able to adapt to it, but checo had the whole season and gasly had 12 races

He was able to show the world his pure driver talent

and proved to everyone that he is a mature team leader!

He's definitely one of the drivers of the season with Verstappen, Hamilton and Norris. So incredibly consistent beating the Ferraris and McLaren in Quali.

@@john-zf1yb George never got a Merc seat like Pierre, the only time was last year at Bahrain and he was going to win that race, his team let him down.
@@jogabneymar4994 the "best" was the 3rd best car on the grid. While he failed for sure, it was not as bad as many people think. Perez isn't doing much better at all, in Pierre RedBull time there were 6 top team cars, while merc was the fastest.
What i wanted to say, in Gasly RedBull Era it was much harder for him to get a podium, cuz there were at least 5 other top team cars fighting for it. Now Perez only have to beat one to be on the podium, as soon no other midfield team is stronger than usual. No wonder, that Perez has more podiums. Perez is doing better than Gasly, but not by much, although Perez is in the sport for like 10 years, and it was Gasly's 2nd year.
I love that Gasly is doing so well. I loved his drag race with Hamilton and his win in Italy. I always thought his Red Bull period did not show us the real Pierre Gasly.
For me there is nothing more satisfying than seeing Gasly on the podium in an Alpha Tauri.
Alonsos podium was more epic this season.
I simply hope Pierre doesn't end up being the Jean Alesi of the 2020's. Wish he'll have a shot at the title one day.

@@ayoub1riad nah...every driver wants to drive for ferrari and now merc, at some stage in their career. drivers mid career look at the wider picture. yes max would love to get a couple of championships with the team he built back to the front, but every driver, secretly wants to drive in red and now silver. Max will at some stage in his career take the dollars. Gasly is banking on Max jumping early. Id say after the first year of the new regs, if the RB isnt at the front, Max will have a performance clause and will jump to whoever the best team is. Pierre then gets the RB seat. When you get hurt like he did by RB, it burns inside you, and you want to right the wrong.

Pierre is so underrated, what he’s been through is more than half the drivers put together. He’s amazing and brings out the best in alpha tauri.
He could maybe replace Ocon at Alpine if Ocon wants to leave or something.
Gasly is the top pick (as of 2021) to replace Hamilton if and when he retires imo. The only other somewhat feasible option would be if Mercedes were try lure Norris away from McLaren but that doesn't likely at all given Norris' performance this season.

Compare it to how yuki drives it. Clearly the car isn’t top 5 cars material. Only gasly is one of the top 5 drivers
@@6cam953 yuki isn't really a fair comparison though he's literally a rookie; compare his results to norris, ocon, and leclerc who are more comparable in terms of f1 experience and you see that alpha tauri really have a very special car this season
@@6cam953 Exactly, that's Yuki's drive, not the car's true abilities. It's not like Gasly is doing anything miraculous(hes amazing though) with the car. He just knows how to use it better than Yuki. There's no way any driver pulls performance beyond a car's capabilities and not spin or crash. Ham, Alonso, and Vettel can consistently pull out 100% of a car's capabilities but even they lose control when trying to do more.

What I love the most is the connection he has with his mechanic Pierre and the alpha team in general. This goes to show that the high toxic environment red bull used to have (it is better now) was really undermining his talent and driving
Gasly is at the moment by far more than an
average driver and with the more experience he has now, he definitely deserves another chance at a top team
Pierre is definitely a future world champion. He might even do it in an Alpha Tauri, you never know.

@@eggmaster1233 I dont know if you could say he’s the best in a mid car. Leclerc, Sainz Norris are better imo. They actually have very competitive teammates to judge them. I think Gasly does deserve a better seat. But I’d also like to see him against another top driver.
I genuinely think if Red Bull don't offer him a seat in 23 , Wolff has to give him a seat once hamilton retires (not necessarily in 23 ) . The rage he'll have will fuel him to a superb season
But Russell and Gasly in the same team would probably become a rivalry, (after Lewis and George possibly having a rivalry) and that’s the last thing Mercedes want

Consistent top performances in an alpha tauri are truly a spectacle to behold. Hopefully Pierre makes his way into a championship caliber machine in the near future because he's been absolutely killing it for the past two years and definitely deserves it.

His crashes in pre season testing shook his confidence, along with letting the negativity of the media getting to him. His only decent performance for Red Bull was at Silverstone.

Pierre is seriously underrated. I believe the only reason he underperformed at Red Bull was because the car didn't suit him (mid season driver change) and a couple unlucky events. Put him in a Red Bull at the start of the season and he'd be up there with Max.
