Absolutely, it's the closest you can get to pro gaming when you're mobile. Its lightweight and hopefully more affordable now that the year is almost over and the 2020 selection should be rolling out soon. I will be gaming on it in an hour while I am traveling.
I couldn't tell you as I never owned the 1060 but I think the 1070 is quite a bit better. Linus Tech Tips has a video with the stealth and the external razer blade graphics card and that worked out quite well for him. I ended up building a desktop (video coming out soon) comparing the 2080 mobile vs the 2080ti . I'd check the benchmarks on a gfx card website to compare the three and make inferences there.
I have the 1070 max q and the 2060 blade I just got. 7% better fire strike bench, 14% better time spy bench. Would love to see synthetic bench for the 2080 though! Subbed for a useful video and fellow Texan

Battery life isn't great at all. It all depends on what you are doing but I remember being on a plane and trying to edit video and I was lucky to get 45 minutes before it ran out. Also, it draws more power than what most planes will output. Between the two computers the RTX card might take 5 minutes off the battery life but I will try to test soon.

I spend most of my day at lectures as i am a student so i am mostly using word but i can get a solid 6 hours of work time on this device sometimes more. however the blade for some reason has worse battery life when you put windows on the best battery life on the slider. for some reason the "better battery" option works better. with youtube and other streaming stuff you are probably looking at 4-5 hours of battery. however i did undervolt to -157.3.
Fortnite as we know is very well optimized and not nearly as taxing as all these games listed. I would expect FPS in teh 120 range at 1440p on the 2080 and 90 on the 1070 at 1440p.
I hear ya @WindSec. To be clear this was the realistic capture at sustainable temperatures with no modifications to lower temperatures. Its a laptop so unless you're putting it in a chilled environment, probably not much you can do.
Yea if you could make a chart just comparing the temps that'd be very nice. Maybe undervolting both laptops cpus and compare that too so we can see what the bump in performance and temps are. Fps is pretty important too windSec cuz not alot of people have been making honest enough videos about that
@@Ethereal184 things to keep in mind with the temps on this laptop. this laptop collects dust like crazy. also do not play with the lid closed on a separate monitor. i was going to but i heard reports of the screen burning from the heat. Also under-volt is necessary. my CPU was reaching 100 degrees in demanding games before i undervolted. after i applied a -157.3 my temps are at an average of around 87 and in less demanding games it can drop to 75ish. also recommend putting fans on max since that will make a big difference in temps. AND NEVER SET WINDOWS POWERPLAN TO MAX PERFORMANCE! makes the parts overheat and performance goes way down.
Yea, if you could do the temperature testing before and after undervolt that would be perfect. I read somewhere that 2019 has better cooling, but right now I can buy the 2018 model 500$ cheaper. 10 or 20 gen is no difference for me, since I don't play such demanding games
Apex Legends was actually 72FPS for the 1440p resolution on the 2019 Razer blade Advanced.
