im working to save money to buy this laptop or possibly one of the laptops that come while im still saving up ~2200 euros, so yeah.. gonna take a couple months cause i dont work too often

Hey Gregg, I have a couple of friends with razer blades. (the 2016 6700hq version) Now, of course maybe their quality control on the 2018 one is better, but for the 2016 models, all of our razers started to "break down" after a year and a half of use. For me, my battery bloated, for my friends, the blade wouldn't turn on, etc. Again, maybe this has changed, but just a heads up. Now about Razer's whole repair system Its important to note that they only offer 1 year of warranty. I have sent my laptop to Razer for repair, and it has taken them a week to analyze the computer and its issues. I am guessing it will take more time to actually fix the computer now. Anyways, good luck with your new Razer Blade! It really looks great
how does the laptop serve for you now? what do u use it for mostly and has there been an issues? I'm interested in getting the blade 15 for college for school and gaming, and the more professional look of it really sounds like a good way to go considering i plan to go into engineering
Apparently the X9 is dead. The X5 is not that special but it performs very well. The X7 is probably the most interesting version. However, I own one so my opinions might be slightly biased :)
The X7 v8 is almost dead also. I waited for it for over two months since announced to get one in Spain. As far as I know, one was given for reviews and two where brought to be sold for the entire country. Missed on those and was told that it was discontinued (at least for Spain). Availability in France hasn't been great also, and I suspect the same for other European countries. At the end I resorted into purchasing the laptop in the UK. I really think that there isn't much of a ultra thing gaming market, and it would be best for Gigabyte to scrap the X series of laptops and instead to keep the hardware, build a more professional looking chassis and call it the Aero 17X or something. For me, my X7 v8 is not a gaming laptop that is great for productivity, but rather a potent productivity tool that is awesome for gaming.
In Europe is mostly MSI, ACER and ASUS who dominate the laptop market. The Gigabyte Aero series has been doing well. Gigabyte jut doesn't want to go allocate any production of the X series laptops for the European marketplaces, just way too many keyboard variations for few sales.
How the heck is Microsoft Surface's cameras "still bad" Alex? the only time the front facing camera of my Surface Book (1st gen) is actually bad is for taking low light photograph, and that is expected... but for normally lit room, video conferences, and taking pics of documents, whiteboards, and so on... both cameras (front and back) are simply the best on the market...
Agreed. But some people like to complain about EVERYTHING. And I thought it is bad in Germany. Guess my brothers wife was right it isn’t (she actually IS from Canada lol)
Because making game accessories isn't a real job! (joking, of course) Anyone making same type of accessories are competitors 'lol', I'm pretty sure each one wants more of the market share in gaming industry.
It would be nice to see an update video, about these newer laptops with some laptop cooling pads/vacuum laptop coolers. Im curious whether they still do anything to the thermals, or the cooling is as good as it gets with the newer tech.
Mine has too but I have the Stealth model. Used to blue screen often last year, along with thermal issues. Tech support said my issues have never been reported before. Coil whine too and the charger has shocked me multiple times, I usually have to discharge it on metal. Then the hinge clicks now too sometimes, and my touchpad has weird unremovable marks on it. What issues have you had with yours, haha.
ZeShirky mostly it was the bluetooth but that was fixed with windows updates. Then it was knocked off of a table, and I asked them how much it would cost to replace the dented back part of the lid. They just told me to turn the PC on and off again. I was confused as to why they thought this was reasonable, so I submitted a second form and then they just never wrote back after that, so its mostly their lack of support that is sending me back to getting a mobile workstation since I know thinkpads are well supported. EDIT: The trackpad also is peeling up at the front now, and I also have a smudge that wont come off of the trackpad.
Henry Atkinson Ugh that's annoying. The guy I had for support was actually good but there was limitations without me sending it back. It works fine currently though at least. I live in Australia and the blue screen issues happened in summer. I used a temperature app (forgot the name) to prove it had thermal issues but support told me not to trust it??? So yeah.

I'm not exactly a Razer fanboy, but I do like the eye candy that Razer offers, so I pretty much have all Razer peripherals and the laptop (1060/512gb version though) - I got a heck of a price on a package deal with them which included the Razer Mamba Wireless, Razer Blackwidow Chroma v2, Man o war wireless, Razer Firefly cloth, headstand (non RGB) all for like half the price they would all usually cost. Instead of close to $600-$700, I paid like $350. I'm OCD with brands matching and I don't want to install 15 different pieces of software to manage my setup either... but anyways - the 1060 version has been a bit of mixed feelings for me. Yes, the laptop build is awesome - just as good, if not better than a Macbook pro. However, the speakers are NOT that good. They're pretty meh. The screen has more backlight bleed than my Asus PG348Q 3440x1440 21:9 monitor The GPU gets hotter than 76c with what Linus was talking about. Try like 86c so then it does throttle slightly I believe. Overall, it still maxes like the only 2 games I play (overwatch and league) so that is rather moot. But for the price that I'm paying, you're still probably better off buying the MSI GS65 Stealth for cheaper and a better GPU. The build quality isn't as nice, but that's literally just about the only draw back to the MSI.
Yeah I just got an MSI 65 Stealth thin because of all the bad reviews of the blade. Too bad because it looks better the MSI and I'm a MacBook Pro user at work but the MSI has been flawless so far. Razer really need to improve their QC.
Only Linus seems to have this obsession with these laptops i'd love to know how many of his viewers actually have these machines. If it wasn't for Linus i wouldn't even know about these laptops
For all of those considering a Razer Laptop keep in mind my case: I live in Lima-Perú, I’ve always liked Razer and I tought it was time for a new laptop, so I bought one from the page to an auntie of mine’s house in Miami, she shipped it for me to Perú, this was a huge expense from my part because the customs tax is very expensive, I recieved it without any physical damage, it was great.. for 7 days, after one exact week, I started to get BSOD and caught myself in an infinite loop of restarts and blue screens, couldn’t even safe boot or boot from a Windows Media Creation Tool USB, the worst part is that the Razer Client Support plays Hide and Seek with me, I am now shipping my 2200 dollars dead laptop and it’s charger back to the US (which will cost me a good amount of money) and trying to talk to a Razer representative so they can pick up de device and repair it or give me a refund. It is a nightmare, so even if you do live in the US (or any country that has Razer shops and support there) consider this issue when you are checking this laptop as an option. Mine was a Razer Blade 15 (Base Model) 2020 with an RTX 2070. Consider in mind that my laptop was in perfect physical form, not one single dent or anything at all, so it was a manufacturer’s problem.
You know Linus, I've been watching your vids for a while, yet I still don't understand some of the phrases you are using. Could you make one vid on that. Like what is tdp, thermal throttling, IPS and many more you use freely. All in one or few vids please.
Managed to grab the 1070, 256Gb SSD, 144Hz panel for £1850 on Amazon. SSD size is fine for me, since I only use it for when I'm away in which case I can put in my Desktop SSD into my laptop which is about 1TB.
Because more higher end peripherals are not that more durable the the cheap ones, as much they are more more expensive. Your expectations re just too high due of the high price tag. If yo want a really durable but expansive keyboard look for one with metal base ans either buckling spring or authentic Cherry MX switches. Razer peripherals are good but overpriced.
@@instantdislikechannel5699 Razer peripherials have average longetivity. Logitech, Corsair, Asus etc. breaks just as often, but they tend to be cheaper.
No....got 10 more keyboards and mice in my house, some already 10 years of....the only defect one is now the Razer...according to the amount of claims and reports on the Internet it is pretty obvious that Razer spends more money in Marketing than in building-quality....
I really wish I could trade in my razor blade 14 that I bought last December didn’t know they were gonna release this.. anyone know any good way to sell it ?
My blade died about 4 days ago. It's a 2017 model, and it's only a month old. Not sure what to do since I bought it in texas and I am now in argentina. Any ideas? I'll be calling the microsoft store I got it from monday.
Nice but way too expensive to sell well. I rather have a proper desktop rig at 2100 Pounds that will beat the crap out of the Razer and still have money for other things, than spend it all on that Laptop.
Since when does more size = better on a portable device? Spec pushing is just as anti consumer. Sell you with buzz words and ghz, only to find a terrible user experience. Shitting on thin and light's seems fun until you actually try one.
you gotta invite Louis Rossman again! he had an episode where he examined its engineering and found a lot of sub-par parts like its heat sink. But these were the older Razers,
Gaurdian66 Dattilio The GT75 has better performance and is more quiet for sure. The issue is when you have to carry it around, specially with its TWO power adapters.
Teco01ejg I have the i7 8850.and I do carry it around everywhere and I agree it's a pain in the butt. But man iv been editing photos with it and gaming and it just kills. The speakers as Dave 2D said himself are the best sounding speakers on any laptop out right now. It also has the gtx1080. I bought it from HIDevolution and they put the thermal grizzly on it so on ultra graphics it stays at around 70 degrees Celsius. I bought the laptop to do work on the side. And it's been killing it. I took the laptop on my Italy trip and it wasn't to bad besides waiting in line at all the airports. But I do like the msi gs65. If I did it over again I'd buy that instead.
Linus i have a serious question: when you spray water on your radiator from your water cooled pc and still let blow your fan on it, does it cool it better? You know because of the evaporation cold, if yes how much better is it? thanks for trying Linus :D♥ Greetings to Riley you are cool ^^

Hey Gregg,
I have a couple of friends with razer blades. (the 2016 6700hq version)
Now, of course maybe their quality control on the 2018 one is better, but for the 2016 models, all of our razers started to "break down" after a year and a half of use. For me, my battery bloated, for my friends, the blade wouldn't turn on, etc.
Again, maybe this has changed, but just a heads up.
Now about Razer's whole repair system
Its important to note that they only offer 1 year of warranty.
I have sent my laptop to Razer for repair, and it has taken them a week to analyze the computer and its issues. I am guessing it will take more time to actually fix the computer now. (FYI, a full keyboard replacement costs around 230, screen 230, and the battery around 70, with labor costs of 130.)
I am not sure if that is a long time to fix a comp, but thats for you to judge.
6:05 : So this kitchen is actually a decor!? cant believe it Linus! Shattered dreams right there ! :)
You're channel completes me. I am so glad you exist! Much love!
U need to review the Aorus X5, X7, and X9!!!!
Edit: it has been 3 months...
Apparently the X9 is dead. The X5 is not that special but it performs very well. The X7 is probably the most interesting version. However, I own one so my opinions might be slightly biased :)
Teco01ejg Aorus stopped manufacturing the X9 but they still have alot of left overs...
But in a sence it is dead...
Teco01ejg Aorus/ Gigabyte are trying to get a better foothold in mainland Europe.
It’s simply because they compare the front facing camera to that of smartphones as well
Can you play games on Microsoft surface
Happy Birthday Linus
Great info video, n love the colors of the LTX tee shirt. So soothing in that kitchen.
I like how you linked the ad. Smooth man
Corsair sponsoring a Razer video, what a joke lol
They aren't competitors they're gaming companies lol
Because making game accessories isn't a real job! (joking, of course) Anyone making same type of accessories are competitors 'lol', I'm pretty sure each one wants more of the market share in gaming industry.
It would be nice to see an update video, about these newer laptops with some laptop cooling pads/vacuum laptop coolers. Im curious whether they still do anything to the thermals, or the cooling is as good as it gets with the newer tech.
lmao my laptop runs with an AMD A8 6410, Minecraft fast graphics regularly hitting 4 fps, perfect for all your gaming needs.
idk how long you've been gaming but AMD definitely is bad compare to what nvidia can make.
@Aiden Macleod whooosh
@Aiden Macleod r/wooosh
I ran a4 r3 mine was twice as bad
The transition to the sponsor was really slick.
6:45 - 7:00 that's the video for me, I'm all good! Thanks for uploading 😂😂

My late 2016 blade has been a nightmare, and I don't want to relive it so I will be getting a thinkpad p52 as I don't need the 1070.
So yeah.
Same...use a perk at works code. I got a p52 uhd p3200 (close to 1070maxq) for 2200
@@jaredcrandall9145 USD?
EDIT: If so thats about 600 dollars saved assuming a 512 SSD and no HDD, along with 16gb of ram. Thats impressive.
EDIT 2: Just got my corporate login stuff for lenovo and a p52 wtih 64 gb, 500 ssd and 500 hdd, 4k, p3200 and an i7 is about 2500 usd.
was that 4 hours with gaming or productivity?
productivity benchmark. gaming is about 2 hours with something like overwatch
keep in mind that is just using the discrete gpu and not switching to the Intel gpu. You can get 6+ hours on this when not doing extreme tasks.
Just picked one of these up for $500 off marketplace, and i absolutely love it. I use it for college and when im waiting between classes i just load up some games. and yes I already checked the battery, no spicy pillow. just a dying cmos that im changing out
when you didn't know the LTT intro was an actual song till you wondered the what the sound clip was at 6:50 and like any good you tube video the link was in the description
The irony, corsair sponsoring a razer video xD
Happy Bday Linus! (aug 20)
Ovulm really? How do you know?
He is on the website celeb bdays.
I was so happy when I saw this...
Until I saw that price yeah ;-;
1:40 using the mouse cable as a portable laptop cooling stand... *IQ 9000*
3:43 using the top of the keyboard to cook your dinner while gaming on public transport... *IQ 10000*
Happy birthday Linus 🎊🎊🎊
oh no, did linus drop one again?
The screen has more backlight bleed than my Asus PG348Q 3440x1440 21:9 monitor
The GPU gets hotter than 76c with what Linus was talking about.
Corsair sponsor in a Razer video 🤔
Happy birthday my g Linus xx
I am super impressed that someone at LTT knows about Occam's Razor!
Only Linus seems to have this obsession with these laptops i'd love to know how many of his viewers actually have these machines. If it wasn't for Linus i wouldn't even know about these laptops
Tony Foley saw my companys ceo walkin around with one if his, did some research and the lulz intensified
Ikr?
replying with this beast right now
What game are they playing at 9:12?
I want to know too!
Roby Mann That’s just a 3d Mark benchmark test
Looks lime a benchmark tool. I can't see any UI elements
3d mark time spy i think
3D mark it a bench mark test
what is the game at 5:20 ?
Yeah seriously what is that ?
Nemecys okay I think it’s Preys DLC Mooncrash
it's not a game, it's a benchmark software - 3DMark TimeSpy
Nemecys Dang I thought I had it lol thanks man.
Z-Man 1911 aha don't worry my dude! I thought the same as you I got such a prey vibe from the game aswell!
For all of those considering a Razer Laptop keep in mind my case:
I live in Lima-Perú, I’ve always liked Razer and I tought it was time for a new laptop, so I bought one from the page to an auntie of mine’s house in Miami, she shipped it for me to Perú, this was a huge expense from my part because the customs tax is very expensive, I recieved it without any physical damage, it was great.. for 7 days, after one exact week, I started to get BSOD and caught myself in an infinite loop of restarts and blue screens, couldn’t even safe boot or boot from a Windows Media Creation Tool USB, the worst part is that the Razer Client Support plays Hide and Seek with me, I am now shipping my 2200 dollars dead laptop and it’s charger back to the US (which will cost me a good amount of money) and trying to talk to a Razer representative so they can pick up de device and repair it or give me a refund.
Happy birthday, Linus!
What is the game at 5:22 ?
Not a game it's timespy benchmark
Darude Sandstorm
Darude Sandstorm. Jake is liar.
It's a Benchmark called 'Time Spy' basically it's not a game.
Don't let anybody fool you it's Darude Sandstorm.
You know Linus, I've been watching your vids for a while, yet I still don't understand some of the phrases you are using. Could you make one vid on that. Like what is tdp, thermal throttling, IPS and many more you use freely. All in one or few vids please.
Google exists for a reason you know...
Still difficult to find razor product in india, specially Laptops, i wish they could improve their network in india.
amazon?
you can buy them there
Some props for that fire dubstep
I just got an ad from pulseway with Linus!
trick question...razer never had it to begin with.
Last time I was this early, Germany was in the finals of the WC.
Marin K. Last time I was this early Poland belonged to Germany.
I don't think razer laptop is good for gaming but its good for producing music
Jeez Dennis already breaking stuff GOSH 0:16
Managed to grab the 1070, 256Gb SSD, 144Hz panel for £1850 on Amazon. SSD size is fine for me, since I only use it for when I'm away in which case I can put in my Desktop SSD into my laptop which is about 1TB.
hOW SHOULD Razer produce a fully working Notebook, if....
they are unable to build any longevity mouses or keyboards????
Because more higher end peripherals are not that more durable the the cheap ones, as much they are more more expensive.
Your expectations re just too high due of the high price tag.
If yo want a really durable but expansive keyboard look for one with metal base ans either buckling spring or authentic Cherry MX switches.
Razer peripherals are good but overpriced.
short longetivity is not good......
@@instantdislikechannel5699
Razer peripherials have average longetivity. Logitech, Corsair, Asus etc. breaks just as often, but they tend to be cheaper.
No....got 10 more keyboards and mice in my house, some already 10 years of....the only defect one is now the Razer...according to the amount of claims and reports on the Internet it is pretty obvious that Razer spends more money in Marketing than in building-quality....
that's exactly why I don't buy razer products anymore, no longevity!!!
buy it from Amazon
KT S Why from Amazon? Do they have some kind of good warranty deal?
I really wish I could trade in my razor blade 14 that I bought last December didn’t know they were gonna release this.. anyone know any good way to sell it ?
0zk3r12 ebay?
pdes _ yea but the tax and the fees are insane on top of that shipping. I might do it that way if that’s my last resort
how was i supposed to know this would be the year razor would upgrade to 144hz?...
0zk3r12 not your fault this nigga just likes to say his “mottos” online and talk shit
Ghostly lmao
thanks for the nice review video 👍👍👍
1:10 good job Linus, talk about how you're Sponser's largest competitor is doing so well
My blade died about 4 days ago. It's a 2017 model, and it's only a month old. Not sure what to do since I bought it in texas and I am now in argentina. Any ideas? I'll be calling the microsoft store I got it from monday.
nahventure talk to razer about it
Nice but way too expensive to sell well. I rather have a proper desktop rig at 2100 Pounds that will beat the crap out of the Razer and still have money for other things, than spend it all on that Laptop.
Yup unless you're traveling a lot you should just get a desktop and even then there are better options
Since when does more size = better on a portable device?
Spec pushing is just as anti consumer. Sell you with buzz words and ghz, only to find a terrible user experience. Shitting on thin and light's seems fun until you actually try one.
Well I'm rich so I can get both a desktop and this sexy beast
My plan:
Buy one for college
Go to library
Turn on high performance and game mode
Play gta 5
???
Outside with broken laptop
Profit
Thanks for the great comparison, considering this machine for my computing needs.
you gotta invite Louis Rossman again! he had an episode where he examined its engineering and found a lot of sub-par parts like its heat sink. But these were the older Razers,
6:43 that made me dance too
That song was horrible
Watching on my gigabyte aero 15x v8 4k panel with a 1070 THAT U STILL WONT REVIEW
Watching on my Aorus X7 v8 144Hz IPS panel with a GTX 1080 and a 8850H that turbos up to 4.5~4.6GHz in gaming. Nobody cares about this thing.
Teco01ejg I feel ya brother
I don't think he reviewed the better then anything else msi Gt75. Dave 2D.
In theory it should, assuming you can get a system like that working reliably :P
Had mine for a week, seems awsome!, fingerprint magnet but tbh everything else is great, build is top notch, but price is admittedly high but im happy with my purchase

Well, i have been here since 2015.
These type of comments give me chromosomes
I have 30 subs!!
had to send the new 15" back (4K) 2 days after it arrived. GPU or something fried while playing PUBG. Such a mess.
Never buy Razer!
My mom recently broke my monitor that I saved up for a year. Now I have no monitor for my pc. It was a HP Pavilion monitor. Can I have a rip on the chat?
Panda A year to buy a Monitor.. Are you 12?
Tell her to buy a new one. I mean she broke it it's her fault.
Better idea:
Buy a new mom.
I'm sure it will take less than a year.
I don't know why but when the corsair sponsor came on I just completely lost it 😂
Linus got his with the black heatsink coating, the launch version. My friend got the new copper heatsink version which was bait and switched to increase production rate(the black heatsink was a selling point).
