As a self proclaimed "old" I have a hard time listening to new music, but there is something so artistic about spiritbox, I get so excited to hear new songs from them.
I absolute relate to this. Some time ago, I was really sceptical about truly good music being still produced nowadays. But my faith has been restored since I figured out Jinjer and Spiritbox.
That's what's happening to me with a few other bands too right now. Maybe there is a new quality of screaming now? Like Jinjer, Ghostkid...I'm 51 by the way 🤘and into metal since ever.

Just saw them live for the first time yesterday and HOLY FUCK, they are fucking phenomenal live. The pits were crazy. I killed and got killed in those pits but fuck... Something I love about this band that isn't prominent in new metal is the emphasis on the bass. I love hearing bass guitar in rock and metal, it gives another layer to the chill parts and more punch to the distorted guitars.

Spiritbox are super consistent with their quality and sound, this song is great. I don't know if it's just me, but I think female vocalists are on the way to dominating the metal scene (if not already). I want to recommend another band for a future reaction, it is another band with a female vocalist, but with a sound that is influenced by Black Metal (so you know where it is going). They are called Vintersea, I have recommended them before, but I keep doing it from time to time because I think you will love them! Their song "Befallen" is a real banger.

I was SO god damned excited to see her using her gravely mixed voice at the end of the song. Strangely enough, that can actually be by far the hardest thing to do. It's extremely difficult to pull off without just obliterating your voice. It sounds SO good in this song.
In the lockdown they`ve done some remote recordings with this guy at the drums somewhere in Alabama (?). And he did really well. As I understood Spiritbox was made of only Courtney, Mike and Bill. The drummers always were only for recording and a gig but not part of the band. Now it seems that Zev (this drummer) is officially introduced as a bandmember. But watch the lockdown concert for yourself! 👍 Oh man, I always write too early... 🙄

I was SO god damned excited to see her using her gravely mixed voice at the end of the song. Strangely enough, that can actually be by far the hardest thing to do. It's extremely difficult to pull off without just obliterating your voice. It sounds SO good in this song.
In the lockdown they`ve done some remote recordings with this guy at the drums somewhere in Alabama (?). And he did really well. As I understood Spiritbox was made of only Courtney, Mike and Bill. The drummers always were only for recording and a gig but not part of the band. Now it seems that Zev (this drummer) is officially introduced as a bandmember. But watch the lockdown concert for yourself! 👍

I clicked looked up Spirtbox on here for curiosity cause Id seen Holy Roller on a try not to head band challenge and they're so damm good!! This band is definitely on my bucket list to see in concert someday
I got the song stuck in my head and it was my best friend who recommended me to have a listen to this song and another song of theirs called Constance.
Constance especially hits home for me.
