Great reaction bro, you gotta do more of their stuff, this is only the beginning of the absolutely world class power metal in their catalogue, they’re the best band to grace the metal scene in the last 10 years in my opinion. This song is from their 2017 concept album “Apex”. It’s a masterpiece, no exaggeration, an instant classic. I know the band is working on turning it into a graphic novel, but there's no eta as of yet. They also recently announced that they have begun writing a new album with a totally new/unrelated story, and judging by Brittney's writing, it's gonna be just as, or even more epic than the last. This is one of those kind of videos where you need to watch it multiple times to not only enjoy the music, but the musicianship of the band and watch them play. Great reaction!
IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! AWEKENING To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die Come to me, awakening Follow my voice, come to me Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never Lighting my way in the night To roam; to never die
Tank, I just wanna thank you for being so furkin’ genuine. That’s seriously reached into my own experience. This song isn’t likely to be covered by another group any time soon. The instrumentalist are so incredibly relaxed and perfectly synced and Britney is a singular beast of a talent. You let me inhabit the song again with your joy.
@@TankTheTech just truth dude, you are of course welcome but I genuinely hope that you feel the love here. Genuine people are rare any more and you kind sir are real. Thanks for taking the time to respond as I know how crazy busy life can get. Cheers!🍺
I can only describe there musicianship as incredibly clean and precise. Pure technical ability, skill and not trying to create a song that's just incredibly loud to the point where it sounds distorted. You can also tell they take pride in their technical skill. The video is really concentrating on the guitars fret boards and the fingering, not to mention the drummers epic skill.
This is my first time hearing this band and I am truly blown away! Incredible is the only word and that doesn't even close to encapsulating what I just experienced. Thank you so much for choosing this song.
When i watched this video the first time and saw all the gear i couldn't help but think about how much Tank would enjoy going through this one. Not only is the music and band killer but it's gear overload with all the racks/rigs visible behind the players, heh.
Hey a band from my home Province! Kamloops, BC. you should try their other song "we ride" it was their coming out song from the relative unknown canadian hinter lands. These guys seriously kick amazing amounts off ass, fun to listen to in concert!
UTA is fantastic, just like you said, some MAJOR power metal chops. If you want to see them take their talents in a different, but equally epic and amazing direction, check out their cover of the folk classic Northwest Passage. It's been one of the songs that has carried my spirits through the pandemic, absolute BANGER. (Also, shoutout from Columbia, MO - I assume you're in or from Chicago?)
Dude!! I must have watched this about a dozen times. Your reaction of absolute power metal bliss is EPIC. Thank you for my AWAKENING to Unleash the Archers.
Man... I know I'm late to the party... But I just LOVE how your eyes get those sparkles when you hear music you deeply enjoy!!! Awesome reaction as always!!!
This reminded me A LOT of stuff like Helloween and Stratovarius - especially the clean vocals. Heavy on the power metal vibes, very technical playing. The more growly vocals remind me of various projects Ayreon has done with session/guest-musicians and vocalists.
I think going back a little further in their catalogue is always fun. One of my personal favorites is Tonight We Ride and Time Stands Still. They do have a new album coming out this month that I am so excited about! My recommendation is maybe check out a couple more of their older songs and then jump into their new singles Abyss and Soulbound. Have a great day!
First reaction I see of you. Very nice! subscribed :) About the bassist's technique: As far as I can see he uses his thumb in conjunction with 3 fingers. Haven't seen him do any upstrokes with the thumb. Playing with thumb+3fingers like that gives him 4 notes until the pattern repeats itself which is pretty much perfect for fast Powermetal-style 16th note bass-lines.
Omg finally I get a former bass player’s take on this! 🤟😁 Thanks dude. I always see that bit and wonder how unusual playing a bass like that is. Don’t be afraid to expound. You’re doing so good with the reactions. Pauses are good. Editing is really good, very funny You’re very expressive, also good Keep throwing those musician and touring nuggets. Ppl want the knowledge. No complaints
I second the request for "Tonight We Ride." Logical next step, brother. Great reaction... fun to see your enthusiasm. This band definitely warrants it!
If you like this then I would suggest listening to Fire & Ice by Ad Infinitum, as well as Amaranthine by Amaranthe. They are also female fronted bands with a similar sound to Unleash the Archers and Nightwish. And both of them are from Napalm Records as well
Enjoying your reactions! Please try a band called "Eluveitie" (El-Vay-Tee) and their song "Rebirth". It has in my humble opinion the coolest instrument in Metal, the Hurdy Gurdy ;)
I actually LOVE Eluveitie and have included some of their music in the background in some of my other videos. But I'm sure there's something by them that I can find that I haven't heard!
Tank, man, this song is so epic (and i'm not a power metal enthusiast) that just made you come up with one of your best reaction videos ever, too. Glad to see how great musicians in the best music genre make people contemplate existence. Specially a guy like you that must have worked with a lot of masters and know so much about instruments. That helps me a lot to deal with my frustrations when i see so heavy gifted humans pulling this kind of shit off. Anyways, great video, man ! Sorry for my bad english and greatings from an old man from Brazil ! Metal up our asses ! See ya !
I am STUNNED you: 1.- Kept your cap on the entire video 2.- Didn't talk gear with ALL those amazing shots! Hehe. So freaking glad you liked this... I love UTA so, welcome to this pit/rabbithole!
I can really relate to your remark about "so many bands I've been sleeping on". While I had a lot of bands I liked when I was younger, my favorite band since 1980 has been Rush. Geddy Lee is the entire reason I became a bass player, and I ended up spending a good number of years (mostly from my mid-30 to my mid-40s) where Rush was practically the only thing I was listening to, because I was working at learning to play Geddy's bass lines, and sing at the same time. Several years ago, it dawned on me that I was really in a rut. So I put my bass down and decided, instead of playing, I was just going to *listen*. I fired up TH-cam and descended into the rabbit hole of finding new music I liked, and continually finding new bands to get into just going by what was recommended in the sidebar. That's how I found Nightwish and symphonic metal in general, and so many other great bands I'd never heard of because I hadn't been paying attention. Unleash the Archers here is one of the real gems I've discovered. These guys are incredible! Oh, and I am playing again. I even bought a new electric guitar and have been re-learning a lot of the old songs I knew before I switched to bass full time. Though I'm not playing much of the newer stuff, simply because I only have the one guitar and I can't be arsed to retune for every different song depending on which drop-tuning they're using :D
Requesting please... - 'Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down' Song contains singers from Nightwish, Epica, and more......... Floor Jansen has appeared on several Ayreon projects dating back to the late 90's. Marco appears on a bunch of songs as well, even Bruce Dickinson gust stars on an album. To see Floor and Macro watch Ayreon Universe - Age of Shadows Live at Tilburg 2017. A band worth several react videos. One album was even turned into a stage play.
Love your reactions dude. I like to watch non metal fans reacting to metal music a lot of the time but its somewhat wholesome to watch your trained metal ears and musicianship rock out to stuff. And what a song this is. Unleash the archers dont get enough love but i always think if this song as a mini masterpiece, something to go into battle with lol keep up the great videos bud!!
I just came back to this after almost 3 years of watching you. You've come a long way 😃 Seeing the guys and hearing Brittany's voice always makes me smile. I really miss seeing UTA on reactions. I'm not sure why they faded away from the main reaction scene. Let's bring them back!!

Sorry! Haha. I love the live premier element because I get so sit and chat with people while the video is going. Stay safe!!! I've got family and friends in North Carolina that are enduring some pretty brutal weather right now as well.
I love this band. You could strip out the amazing vocals and, unusually, have a complete and complicated piece of music that stands entirely on its own. A rarity. Thanks for the Canadian content.
"Why have I never heard of these guys?!?!?!" I've said that myself so many times this past year after diving down the TH-cam reactor rabbit-hole!!! And I think this as been my favorite reaction to UTA yet. They're musicianship is extremely precise and intricate. They're writing is SUPER energetic (like you said, good gym music. They'll add 10lbs to your max bench!). And Brittany's voice is so beautiful and so powerful!!!! 🤩😍 UTA was actually much of my soundtrack while at work today!! Great job Tank!!!
Idk what you’ve reacted to but here’s some more female fronted metal bands: in this moment, jinjer, monochromatic black, straight line stitch, Spiritbox, arch enemy, halestorm

Dio's daughter seems accurate lol These guys are amazing, just great modern power metal with a bit of death metal elements. They are puting out singles of their new album right now, both are amazing, Soulbound specially. The bassist of this song is no longer with the band sadly, they seem to be having session musicians to fill that role now. The rest is the same line up. I also can't believe I was sleeping on so many great bands, I guess I was too attached to classic rock and metal lol

This is one of those kind of videos where you need to watch it multiple times to not only enjoy the music, but the musicianship of the band and watch them play. Great reaction!
IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME!
AWEKENING
To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed
To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same
This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace
A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way
Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end
Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die
My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name
It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream
I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse
My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth
Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die
Come to me, awakening
Follow my voice, come to me
Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never
Lighting my way in the night
To roam; to never die
You forgot Britt's opening wail "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARHHHH" at the beginning before 'To look up into the night sky ~ 🎶'
@@everett880 And "YEEEEEE-AAAAH!!"
Thank you very much for saying that. Much appreciated!
First Jinjer now UTA..so glad I subbed! Great reaction man. And you have killswitch cover of Holy Diver playing!!! You rock dude!
Thanks, man! Loving all these recommendations!
Really need some more Unleash the Archers . One of the most underrated bands out there.
Fantastic group! Glad to found such great stuff through your reactions. Keep up the good work and great style Tank! Thanks for every vid
Thank YOU for watching! Glad I can experience new bands with other people!
Hey a band from my home Province! Kamloops, BC. you should try their other song "we ride" it was their coming out song from the relative unknown canadian hinter lands. These guys seriously kick amazing amounts off ass, fun to listen to in concert!
love how you dial back a few seconds, after a pause, so you're not missing the progression. Great reaction.
I grew up in the western Chicago burbs but live in Nashville now. 🤘
Dude!! I must have watched this about a dozen times. Your reaction of absolute power metal bliss is EPIC. Thank you for my AWAKENING to Unleash the Archers.
"Abyss" has just been released and it's absolute fire, u gotta do the whole album dawg
Nam Do Abyss is so cool! The whole storyline and the verses are really uplifting
I don't know what I enjoyed more, watching the band's clip or him reacting to it. So much passion and sheer joy! ♥
I love watching 1st time reactions to this song.
Unleash the Archers is one of those bands that I can (and have) listened to their discography for an entire day without getting tired of it
Great reaction, plus Chicago sports memorabilia in the background. A man of culture I see.
🤘🤘🤘
TankTheTech keep it up man, you definitely get a sub from me!
"Tonight We Ride" was another highly suggested one, so I'll have to check that out. Thanks!
Loved the reaction. I've discovered them through watching your reaction and for that, I thank you! Such an awesome band.
I'm not normally a big fan of power / trad, but this band makes me want to vanquish enemies with an axe...so triumphant sounding
First reaction I see of you. Very nice! subscribed :)
About the bassist's technique: As far as I can see he uses his thumb in conjunction with 3 fingers. Haven't seen him do any upstrokes with the thumb. Playing with thumb+3fingers like that gives him 4 notes until the pattern repeats itself which is pretty much perfect for fast Powermetal-style 16th note bass-lines.
Noooo just realized I'll be in a meeting at work when this premieres tomorrow. I should just blast this during the presentation xD
Hahahahaha. It'll be there when you're done. 😎
I am shocked you haven't seen Tonight We Ride, Unleash the Archers. Please check it out!
Such a great band, and the whole concept album carrying on between between this album and the new one is super cool.
Omg finally I get a former bass player’s take on this! 🤟😁 Thanks dude. I always see that bit and wonder how unusual playing a bass like that is. Don’t be afraid to expound. You’re doing so good with the reactions.
Pauses are good.
Editing is really good, very funny
You’re very expressive, also good
Keep throwing those musician and touring nuggets. Ppl want the knowledge.
No complaints
Thank you!
I second the request for "Tonight We Ride." Logical next step, brother. Great reaction... fun to see your enthusiasm. This band definitely warrants it!
"Tonight We Ride" has been HIGHLY recommended by a lot of people, so that will most likely be next!
Dio's daughter lol. 😂 Dude you're the best Metal music reactor I've seen. Kudos!
Thank you!
If you like this then I would suggest listening to Fire & Ice by Ad Infinitum, as well as Amaranthine by Amaranthe. They are also female fronted bands with a similar sound to Unleash the Archers and Nightwish. And both of them are from Napalm Records as well
Is it bad that I love your reaction to this so much that I've watched it multiple times???
Not at all, and I thank you for it!
See ya !
The Matriarch is the best song on that album! Killer riff man you'll love it
What a classic background song! Holy divaahhhhh!! 🤟🏻🖤☠️💛
the bass player is basically playing classical flamenco fingerstyle on a bass. it's nuts.
I am STUNNED you:
1.- Kept your cap on the entire video
2.- Didn't talk gear with ALL those amazing shots! Hehe.
So freaking glad you liked this... I love UTA so, welcome to this pit/rabbithole!
This was one of my super old videos. I wasn’t fully comfortable on camera yet or doing full gear breakdowns. Haha
Early on when you said you were a former bass player, I was thinking "just wait!"
Yeah, this guy blows me away. Hahaha
- 'Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down'
Song contains singers from Nightwish, Epica, and more.........
You might also want to check out Delain, a day for ghosts feat. Floor and Marko 2009!
Love your reactions dude. I like to watch non metal fans reacting to metal music a lot of the time but its somewhat wholesome to watch your trained metal ears and musicianship rock out to stuff. And what a song this is. Unleash the archers dont get enough love but i always think if this song as a mini masterpiece, something to go into battle with lol keep up the great videos bud!!
lol, seriously, I keep laughing at the going to the gym and picking heavy stuff up and putting it back down part..
I mean, that’s what it is. 😂 Glad I could provide some laughter.
I just came back to this after almost 3 years of watching you. You've come a long way 😃 Seeing the guys and hearing Brittany's voice always makes me smile.
I really miss seeing UTA on reactions. I'm not sure why they faded away from the main reaction scene. Let's bring them back!!
Check out their song "Test Your Metal"....her range in that song is NUTS AF.
Loving the reactions! You are very entertaining to watch as I can see your genuine emotional reactions to every song you listen to! Keep them coming :)
Thanks Gord! Much appreciated!
Fucking premieres. I’m trying to endure a hurricane here! I need content. 😂 (Looking forward you watching this!)
*to watching this. Oops.
Sorry!
I feel like this is the new generation's "Through The Fire And Flames"
Just discovered you. It's so cool to see someone who you can tell really loves music. Production quality of your videos is unmatched. Keep it up!
Thank you so much!
Rumor has it that the drummer is still galloping through Canada to this day
YES!
Great Reaction Dear!! Great Reaction!!! Welcome to the Unleash the Archers World!!! The best of World!
Soulbound is another good one I've seen from them recently!
Same explosion of feelings I had when I listened to them some years ago. Nice to watch the surprise on your face.
Next song of theirs you should look at is Tonight We Ride. Britney's voice was made for metal!!
That one is HIGHLY recommended so that'll probably be it!
@@TankTheTechdid you ever make a reaction to it…I can’t find it.
Meshuggah - Bleed - Tomas Haake - Wincent Drumsticks would be great
I fucking LOVE Tomas. Dude is a God.
Love your energy and your experience based technical insights. You've really been bringing the heat. Happily subbed.
Thanks a ton!
Welcome to the fan club... lol
You should check out Tonight We Ride next, so Britney can showoff her ability as much as the band. Cheers!
That one was highly recommended as well, so I'll check it out!
Loved your energy in this reaction!
🤘
Idk what you’ve reacted to but here’s some more female fronted metal bands: in this moment, jinjer, monochromatic black, straight line stitch, Spiritbox, arch enemy, halestorm
I love watching your reactions. So far you’ve watched some of my favorite bands. I’m so thrilled to see you enjoying them so much. Ty again. If you listen to that CD of Unleash the Archers, it tells a story which I think is enhanced by the videos IMHO. Enjoy!
Dio's daughter seems accurate lol
These guys are amazing, just great modern power metal with a bit of death metal elements.
You seem like the kind of dude I would love to hit up a concert with. You feel the music in a fun way. It's awesome to see you just jamming to something cool.
🤘🤘🤘
