I am absolutely amazed at this company's cars. So proud as a Colombian, who grew up with these cars in my family, to have a Colombian company doing this. I prefer this cars over the Icon models. The fact that they use Toyota parts makes it more appealing to me, as a true lover of the brand.
Just curious, when I watched and liked this vid it has 371 likes but strangely 9 dislikes. Who dislikes this video? what could upset anybody about this video? I cannot imagine feeling compelled to say "I dislike this" after viewing something so positive and un-offensive. Peace from the UK
The original was about $21.000 (correct me if i'm wrong) and was build to endure everything you could throw at it and be easily maintainable + run forever. This thou... is a luxury ship packed with electronics u don't need and will fail at some point. Although being crafted beautifully, charging $200.000 for this is outrageous.
I own two resto modded 40 series a 78 Fj40 with a 1Hz engine and a 80 fully customised 4 door Fj 45 on 80 series chassis with a 6l ls motor. Ilove your videos as they are inspiring and give me ideas for my own builds. Keep up the good work.
I have had a '77 BJ-40. Loved it. These FJ's are done nicely BUT the price tag is out of this world! I would go for the old, brand new Land Cruiser 70 Series with an 4.5 Liter V-8 Turbo diesel for around US$ 80k!
Checking neutral all the time is a bad driving habit. For everything else, excellent video. In my house we had one of these and a model 78 cargo truck (camioneta/hembrita/bachaca) which we kept. The FJ40 was from year 76 (techo duro), it was unused for 3 years, when my dad sold it, only the battery and fluids were changed and it started on the first try.
Having owned 2 FJ40's back in 1990's, which I ran through the Rubicon what a beauty!!!! 275k is wild, For that price I thought it have a Demon 800hp at least. shhheesh
We have, this #3. I almost bought one as my 2nd car but bought a SJ10 instead, rebuild it and then my brother blew up the engine. The UK has/d the reg etched in the glass and was also a anti-theft deterant. Rugged my rse, copy the Land Rover and it's in the air, fuel cap.
Would love to ask the FJ Company to install the super cool suspension seat from the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro into this baby !!! A special request from me of course !!! 😇😇😇
275.000.00 thousand dollars? I could have this FJ40 custom built in the US for 100,000.00 and wind up with a superior product. What he is charging is NOT justifiable by any stretch of the imagination.
You basically take a concept thats loved for its simplicity and overbuild roughness, turn it into a supercharged Christmas tree and charge 10 times the original price.
I disagree with him when he says the steel used in the 70s and 80s wasn't great . Its far better than the recycled scrap steel made in China that's used in cars now . But maybe he just means the steel they used to restore is way better .
$250k+ ?? 😂 my brother bought a fj40 for $7500 Aud and put 25k into it. Restoring it completely from the ground up, replaced the old tired motor and converted the engine to a 12HT diesel turbo.
$250k???? That's laughable.... Amazed that people would throw that kind of money around for something like this. Larry will be like "OMG, this is soooooo amazing. Why wasn't this like this from factory??" Man gets suckered into the hype....
While it's awesome, I mean, who doesn't like a "modernized" 40....why he used a 1GR V6 instead of a 1HD-FT I6 Diesel is beyond comprehension, hell, I'd rather have a Cummins 4BT instead of that V6 🤢

This is truly a mastercraft of workmanship. I can only hope stoat least sit in one eventually to feel the quality.
Yesss another Larry Chen Toyota truck feature
I am the proud owner of one of those FJ40s acquired in the 1990s from a government auction. The one in the video was number 605. Mine was number 638
I daily drive my restored 1981 FJ43. I’ll be driving it back up the Pan American Highway to the USA soon 😊 Great trucks!

where can you buy old but nee 80k v-8 70 series? can you give me link?
The level of craftsmanship is unreal. I just can't get my head around how many vehicles this company would need to move to keep in business.

Amazing works, the quality it shows
To have something this nice and this reliable. Good lord.
I used to work at a landcruiser restoration shop about a decade ago. Complete builds started at 100k
Amazing works. I Love it. Great great work. Congratulations. Thanks!!!!

I literally read this as Larry was pointing this out on the glass
I love these videos of the Land Cruiser

Ah, 7seconds of 7min22sec to see 722 thousand km.
😏😀
Unbelievable milage
I have 309,900 on my 1981 FJ43. It’s a daily driver here in Bogotá.

I will go whit the original no matter what that is the real legend here in colombia 🇨🇴
amazing....❤
Love It
Is this a re upload?
could they make a righthand drive?
400c is about the melting point of zinc! the operating temp when galvanizing is around 450c!!
We still have people using this kind of car here, but it sucks. I used to have one like this that was just a pickup truck (fj45).

Im tripping out i swear Ive already seen this but it says uploaded 1 day ago
...supercharger is an absolute no go !
Didn't you already post this?

I wish the fiberglass top was white.
Cool video, but you've been in this continent before Larry
Lets see - I could but a Ferrari or an Fj40 for $250k
Great for when you can't afford an Icon FJ.
America is a single continent my friend. South america is just part of america, as well as north and central america.
Can’t you buy a new body from china for 11 k? No rust
So normally you dip steel to galvanise it whats this galvanise steel hes talking about sounds like marketing bs 😂

Honestly 😂 I am sure it’s 30k max to build so they launder money at 250k for suckers

Drug dealers toy indeed.
this is a scam for sure
Much better person compared to the tlc/icon guy. Hate the other guy and his pretentious attitude
I oun one 1977 beige
