      Volvo was pretty fast. They also sold an electic adapter so when you park your car at the company in countrys like Sweden, Norway, Finnland and they had electric outlets on their employe parking decks. You could maintain the temperatur on the inside of the car during the day, which helped so the cars were allways free from ice or snow without using gas.

    • @Rudolf2k
      @Rudolf2k 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@brandope_420 Cold engine=Fuel enrichment and maximum gas bypass through the piston rings. This means that fuel and water enters the oil during cold start.
      When the oil gets up to temperature the oil and water evaporates and is sucked into the engine (for combustion) through the crankcase ventilation.
      Cold idling maximizes the amount of fuel in the oil, and because the engine oil never gets really varm at idle the fuel stays in the oil for an extended time.
      For the engine it is always best to start it and drive away after only a few seconds. No powerful accelerations until warmed up of course, just normal driving. This gets the engine up to temp much faster. Cars with automatic gearbox also has a special warm up program that changes the shift points to help the engine to warm up.

      In Russia we put blankets under the hood and plastic covers in front of the radiator. It helps a bit when its -40°C but where it's really cold (yakutsk -65°C) they either warm up a fire under the engine (1950's method). Or you buy a portable garage (Natasha), that's a big padded cover that keeps the inside temperature a bit warmer.

    Ah yes. The neighbours must love that man. Who doesn't want to listen to a loud lambo every morning - even if you could have slept for a few more hours

    You have to go through the cold start together with your car. It's there for you when you need it, so you should be there when it needs you.
    Jk.

    Good thing for the engine running slowly warm with cold oil... and good thing for the nature too.

      In germany its forbidden start thw engine to warmup the car when you scratch ice from the windows. It costs 80 bucks :D

      @@ferox1183 Good, it not only pollutes but destroys the engine over a long time

      This is a common misconception. When stationary, the engine never gets as warm as it should. And you have the problem that the oil tends to dilute. So if you want to do something good for your engine in winter, then start, drive off leisurely and avoid excessively low and high rpms.
      Nature won't thank you: exhaust pollution treatment in cars need a minimum temperature before they work.

    If you don't want a cold car, have money, it's that simple, we all have the same 24 hours, just work harder
