For those that don’t know, Anderson’s monologue when he becomes the Monster of God ( Through the Ministry of the Church...) is the exact phrase that priests use during confession in real life.
I believe in the original even Anderson is weirded out by how she's so cute and yet also clearly a monster (as much as Anderson can be weirded out by anything)
I remember watching Hellsing for the first time assuming that Seras was gonna be another dumb blonde girl to bait the basement dwellers like that girl from Dr Stone. It wasn't until she kicked Zorin's ass that I realised how much she had changed. TLDR: Police Girl is Great.
“You were a good boy, Maxwell... shame you were such a shit man.” Damn, that line gets me in the feels every time. I think we have all seen little boys and girls grow up to be addicts, liars, thieves... it hurts you to see them go down that road, but you also grieve the loss of who they were.
@@guinevereemilysummers9945 Oh for sure, but you still mourn losing the person who they were. My cousin, whom I love dearly, turned to meth around the time he turned 17... He is 32 now, skinny as a pole, teeth cracked or missing... sores everywhere on his body, and he doesn't want to change or go to a rehab clinic. We eventually had to stop inviting him to our homes because he would steal from other family members to fuel his addiction. I miss him and, while we do keep reaching out to him, we all hope one day he will be ready to change. It still hurts me to see who they were be overcome by who they became, and that was what Anderson was saying.
@@guinevereemilysummers9945 I mean, hard drugs are illegal right? How can you not be a bad person when you're outright breaking federal laws? And, out of all the addicts in the world, which do you think is the majority, innocent people who were tricked by a stranger with a drink/smoke, or people who sought after illegal substances of their own free will? Honestly though, even the people who were tricked into drugs don't really deserve any sympathy. Stranger danger is a basic common sense. If you're old enough to go attend public gatherings without supervision but still have blind faith in strangers, then Darwin dictates that your genes should be allowed to die out.
When the abridged version starts to show the less comedic side of Alucard and shows him as a calm collected Dracula then shows him filled with remorse for Anderson, that shit is gold.

I ended up getting a blunt trauma puncture wound in my leg from a shop/construction accident that had to be irrigated. I ended up using these two lines. "Oh shit, this hurts..." _ICU nurse proceeds to inject/flush the wound with a giant syringe of saline_ "Oh cool, it gets worse!"
feline The lord Cthulhu FATHER FUCKING ANDERSON THE DIVINE SLAYER OF HERETICS THE MONSTER TO DEFEAT MONSTERS AND QUOTES BIBLE VERSES LIKE NO ONE ELSE. amen
Why is Dracula my favourite character in this show? The man is such a tonal shift, actually being a respectful and loving man. He cares for Seras like a father, and respects any challenge to him, including Integra. I love the total shift.
In the actual show, Anderson knew that Alucard was Dracula the whole time; and it's implied that he didn't tell Maxwell because Anderson believed it to be obvious lol.
''Whosoever shed man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed,'' Alexander didn't see Alucard as a monster, the deep respect they show to each other in his last moments are tragic.
Comedies that can be so crude and chaotic and yet have serious deep moments that you didn't know you needed included in the show are the best comedies.
The delivery of that line. "Everything you've said, everything you've done; I forgive you." It's so subtly powerful yet full of remorse and understanding. It's like Alexander truly knew why Alucard was the way he was and genuinely thought sacrificing himself to let Alucard talk to God would help him gain some amount of inner peace.
I especially love Alucard's response to that. Every time somebody shit talks him, he just responds in kind. But when Anderson says he forgives him, he seems genuinely offended. Like, it's something he not only didn't expect, but didn't think was possible, and considering everything he did over the centuries, that pisses him off more than anything anyone can say to him.
main reason is ..that monster isnt alucard .. it isnt Dracula it isnt Vlad Tepes nor is it Vlad the Impaler what it is ..is nameless, shapeless ..formless So many souls ..so many identities it has none it is "legion" and yet it doesnt have a name God can Forgive it ..but how can IT accept when it doesnt know "who" is forgiven Names are meaningless to something that has nothing and is nothing more then Monster
A really subtle design decision I love about Hellsing is Alucard’s black gun, The Jackal. He asked Walter to make it for him after confronting Anderson and seeing his normal gun didnt inflict any lasting damage. The Jackal hits Anderson once in his left shoulder in their final showdown and the wound is lasting, unlike other wounds in the show. The engraving on the Jackal also mirror’s a quote on Anderson’s glove. His gloves read “Speak with Dead” and “Jesus Christ is in Heaven.” The Jackal reads “Jesus Christ is in Heaven Now.” All of this goes to show how much Alucard really thought of Anderson. Alucard, the strongest vampire alive, made a gun, specially crafted to deal with Anderson’s regenerator powers, to kill him AND engraved said gun after Anderson’s design choices. Alucard must have thought Anderson an actual saint and a truly worthy opponent to have planned ahead so much to kill him. This show just has some fantastic environmental story telling.
Actually alucard wanted to die by his hands. Alucard wants to die by the hands of humans, which is why he is SUPER PISSED when anderson basically turns himself into a monster because now that he is one he no longer wants to die to him
Personally I love the detail of how Anderson always crosses his bayonets right side up as a sign of the Cross while Alcuard crosses his guns upside down, which while it;s not actually a sign of the devil is usually seen as one. Also there's extra irony in the fact the weapon he uses to hurt Anderson is called the Jackal since at least in the Omen films the Anti-Christ is supposed to be born from the body of a Jackal.
@@thefanwithoutaface8105 the reverse cross though not directly meant the devil, it does mean being opposite/lesser from god. “Y’all know you’re Naruto running, right?” I don’t know why but Alucard just absolutely RIPPING on these guys while they try their damndest to kill him absolutely SENDS me!
you'll Notice how as soon as Seras becomes a full-fledged Vampire, they (Everyone in the Hellsing Organization Including Alucard) all start referring to her using her real name instead of just calling her "Police Girl". Guess that means she's part of the Family now.
It's probably because they're fuckin' terrified of her. I mean, she's arguably the second strongest character in the show after Alucard himself. But that's just a matter of perspective.
14:37 I love how ander son used his bayonets to make a cross and alcard used his gun to make a inverted cross,it's like a bayonet and gun, sure you can use one or the other but they work better when both are used together

@@gameinsane4718 this makes me laugh just as much as Battle Angel Alita when Alita stabs Nova's puppet with a big sword and he says "Ohhhh that appears to be fatal."
“I think it’s worth noting that this is the first time he’s followed my orders without any back sass. It’s simultaneously satisfying....and disappointing”
I wasn't entirely comfortable with that in the beginning, considering the original Alucard follows her every order without question or hesitation, but the change in the dynamic of their relationship here is pretty damn funny. The funny thing is that wasn't actually the first time. When she told him to kill Schrodinger, he did it straight away, and yet got no credit for that one. No wonder he's so grumpy with her all the time :P
Actually, in this version she didn't ask him to kill Schrodinger, he did that cause he (she?) hit on Seras, which is kind of sweet in its own way to see him being protective.
Walter: *Steps on Anderson's remains* "Said 3 Hail Maries, Ate my vitamins, f**ked off and died, AMEN." Alucard: "WAAAALLLTERRR" That was intense as hell
Anderson’s crucifix symbol with his bayonets juxtaposed to Alucards upside down cross with his guns was brilliant. Especially considering what’s about to happen

True so so damn true
Addicts aren't bad people, they're victims that lack proper support.
@@guinevereemilysummers9945 Oh for sure, but you still mourn losing the person who they were. My cousin, whom I love dearly, turned to meth around the time he turned 17...
It's so subtly powerful yet full of remorse and understanding. It's like Alexander truly knew why Alucard was the way he was and genuinely thought sacrificing himself to let Alucard talk to God would help him gain some amount of inner peace.
In the end it did. Just took 30 years.
God may have forgiven Alucard, but Alucard can't forgive God.
I especially love Alucard's response to that.
Every time somebody shit talks him, he just responds in kind. But when Anderson says he forgives him, he seems genuinely offended.

His gloves read “Speak with Dead” and “Jesus Christ is in Heaven.” The Jackal reads “Jesus Christ is in Heaven Now.”
All of this goes to show how much Alucard really thought of Anderson.
@@thefanwithoutaface8105 the reverse cross though not directly meant the devil, it does mean being opposite/lesser from god. she was in the series wayyy before automata so...
bocodamondo please make dragon ball multiverse
Feel like it would've been funny if it was Grant for that DBZ Abridged video. I know it wasn't real but still.
that feel when the abridged series does a character more justice than the original release. Rest in peace Alexander Anderson
Which part?
@@tea-sus8722 everything past episode 5
I wouldn't say that at all
Wait this isn’t the real anime?
It cause in the anime it seems more like not boring but more mildly casual.
I rewatch these regularly. Easily the best work TFS has done...and they do *really* good work.
Walter: *Steps on Anderson's remains* "Said 3 Hail Maries, Ate my vitamins, f**ked off and died, AMEN."
Alucard: "WAAAALLLTERRR"
That was intense as hell
CalibratedRex it was amazing
FUCKIIIIING WALTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So is Walter young again? Evil? Just an asshole?! This left me with a boner for more, fuckin TFS.
OR
you could watch the original series. TFS follows the original stories roughly.
The Dutchinator yes but this is so much better lol
“When hope is gone. Undo this lock, send me forth, *on a moonlit walk. Release restraint level.*
*ZERO*
Le chills
badass
Seras: oh the fuck yes!
"It was at this moment... Everyone knew they fucked up."
Does anyone know what song plays during that? that lil piano solo. i'm curious if it's from anything or was just made for that lil bit.
"Alucard... go for a walk." You know some shit is about to go down with that line
After all these years I jus now noticed that alucard is doing the upside down cross
Anderson’s crucifix symbol with his bayonets juxtaposed to Alucards upside down cross with his guns was brilliant. Especially considering what’s about to happen
Also considering they're litterally drawn opposite to each other ...alucards in red , skinny and uses guns. Anderson's in blueish grey, wide( but in a muscle type of way) and uses essentially swords.
@@aqj2014 I really wish the animated version had an actual swordfight between Anderson and Vlad. That would've been awesome.
@@aqj2014 also Anderson's teeth are completely flat and Alucard's are pointed
@@aqj2014 not to mention black hair vs blond and Anderson has more beard growth while Dracula (but not smooth shaven alucard) is more heavy on the mustache.
@@aqj2014 and Anderson has short hair while "alula" has hair down to the neck.
