Thank you for the great explanations, supplemented by good videos that support what you are saying. Very easy to follow and understand.

We love our Roku device but hate switching back and forth and having to use 2 remotes...Thank you for all of the info :)

Why don't you just buy a Roku remote with TV controls? Or have you done that already?

Literally just got a Roku 4K stick from work as an obvious work Xmas present, and considering I’ve got an Apple TV on my ancient old 3D big TV and built in Android TV on my small bedroom TV, this has definitely helped me learn about the Roku system itself. Great educational vid dude! 😄🎄

Is it any good? I didn’t think people still use roku anymore in this day and age

    • @curtdower1330

@@jkenlow1946, I’d definitely say so mainly for the free Roku channel (which is run through ads, similar to TH-cam). It’s catalogue is kind of like regular terrestrial TV but via streaming (if that makes sense?), but it’s still a nice feature if you can’t think of anything to watch. Like, I fired up the 1949 Batman on the Roku channel one time out of curiosity. 😂 There’s also free to watch brand new Roku exclusive films like the Weird Al movie played by Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) also. 🙂

We bought a brand new Roku tv but don’t know how to go back to the channel, I mean like MBC3, Max or Action after going to the Home Screen. Will be very glad if you help me by explaining it.

I like the way you explain it Before I got to your TH-cam channel I saw this other man 👨 you couldn't understand him I read some of his comments and they were funny

I want to like roku but it just isn’t that great internationally. In my country I can’t even search for apps to download. When I asked support, they said this feature is disabled in non supported countries… searching for apps is a feature? Because of this limitation I can only download what’s featured and I’m unable to download Disney plus even tho my country is supported by Disney. I’m used to geo restrictions but it should be at the app level. Not a happy customer. Great vid tho

Many of the shows I watch on my Samsung smart TV are wavy and choppy especially during dark lit scenes. I have thought about hooking up my 4K Roku would this help get a better picture?

ROKU's biggest fault, is that it's geo-fenced to the US/Canada. ROKU Tv's and boxes are all over the world, but with limited functionality, can't even access the ROKU Channel. In this regard, other OS's trumps Roku every time

Very good explanation. I got a new LG (replacing Hisense) and I’m extremely disappointed. The Roku layout is way more fluid, organized, and user friendly. The LG layout is just awful.
I’m tempted to switch BACK to the Hisense for this reason alone but I may just buy a Roku. If I’m understanding correctly, that’s an option right? I am not fluent in tech.

Yes, you can connect a Roku device to get the Roku interface on your new TV. I did a review of the Roku Streambar that we purchased to upgrade our old LG TV if you want to check it out: th-cam.com/video/50cDftQ9NQM/w-d-xo.html

I can’t save favourites or delete free view channels on my Roku tv. The sound is rubbish too.

I love Roku, but one more thing which Roku is missing is the Internet Browser ..!

    • @TechnologyPaul
      @TechnologyPaul  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Good point. I personally don't love the browsing experience on a TV but I suppose its nice to have when needed.

@@TechnologyPaul It's particularly helpful when one wants to watch videos that aren't available via apps. I occasionally attach a Fire Stick Lite to my Roku TV just for the browser.
