    The Corbin is a beautiful seat, looks fantastic, the backrest is phenomenal. The seat is also very hard that makes it uncomfortable for long trips. The seating element is non-OEM so the heat cannot be adjusted and your butt will be frying. Because it plugs into the battery directly requires you to buy a seat dongle to prevent the instrument lights to flash. So it is a great seat but with flaws that should be rectified. If you like a Corbin equivalent seat without the above mentioned problems, take a look at Ultimate Seats.

    Agreed.. The Seat Look FANTASTIC.. I'm still deciding..Deal on a 2018 - 2019, The NICELY updated Revised 2020 or.. Wait Now.. Since we are only 99 days from the announcment of the 2021.. at what it might bring to the table.. So, stating what the Cost.. Delivery Time.. Possible Custom Stitching Options would be helpful.. Thanx for sharing.
    Thumbs Up for sure.

      Decisions decisions ;) The current price for the set (heated seat, driver backrest, passenger trunkrest) is $1569 + applicable tax, but of course is subject to change. Just the heated seat and driver backrest is $1146. There is a lead time of 4-6 weeks for delivery as they are custom made. While we only have one iteration of the seat, backrest and trunkrest on our site, Corbin offers an array of custom stitching options that we would be more than happy to order for you. Just give us a call. You can also get more info and purchase the standard options here: @t

    Rick,
    What made you decide to go with the Corbin seat over the Ultimate seat? Was it the look? Comfort? Firmness? Leather? Added distance from the handlebars? I don't want to bash one seat versus the other but I am curious as to what influenced your decision since you could obviously have chosen either seat. I like the look of the Corbin but have no experience with them. The "firmness" has me a bit concerned. Corbin seems to be a bit controversial. People love them or hate them, with very few in between.

    • @WingStuffTV
      @WingStuffTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks for your question! I decided to go with a Corbin seat mainly because it set me back a couple inches and makes me feel more centered on the bike. Combined with the Helibars I'm in the perfect riding position for me. I'm not hunched over...I'm more upright now. So I don't get fatigued after a full day riding like before. The firmness is a concern for many riders. It's definitely more firm, out of the box, compared to other seats out there. However, in my experience with Corbin it breaks in after repeated use and really forms to your body. That said, I certainly also recommend Ultimate Seats as another option to consider. I hope this helps with your decision...ride safe!

      @@WingStuffTV Thanks for the response, Rick. I ordered the Helibars from WingStuff and they should arrive tomorrow. Yesterday I ordered the Corbin seat and backrest from Wingsuff as well. Hopefully, the seat and backrest will arrive sometime around Labor Day or in time for some Fall riding. I have no experience with Corbin but I am looking forward to having it for all the same reasons you mentioned. If I like the seat, I will probably complete the set with the passenger backrest.

      @@WingStuffTV So I ordered everything from Wingstuff - the seat, the rider backrest, and the passenger backrest. I have to say that I have never been more comfortable on my Goldwing Tour than I am now. What a difference it has made. I know Corbins are not for everyone but for me it was the right choice. I can ride all day in total comfort and I absolutely love the look. I have not done the 1,000 - 1,500 mile break in yet but have spent about 15 hrs total in the saddle. If this has yet to break in, then it's only going to get better! Thanks for your video.

    What was the material on the seat that you chose? Do you think the black natural leather would hold up?

    • @WingStuffTV
      @WingStuffTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jeff, thanks for the question. I chose the black leather saddle. It's held up great so far. I keep my Wing indoors so that helps. And it doesn't rain a lot in Southern California. Corbin offers a saddle cream/conditioner that, they say, keeps your leather in great shape and helps keep your seat weather resistant. But I haven't tried it.

      @@azmotorcop True. It really depends on how busy they are at the time of ordering. During "slow season" Corbin says their turnaround is only about 2 weeks and we're basically going into slow season. We've found that, on average, it takes about 4 weeks but can take as long as 6 weeks during the rest of the year. If you order in the winter time the turnaround should be much shorter. • @WingStuffTV
      @WingStuffTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Daniel thanks for reaching out with your question:
      The Corbin seat is very comfortable compared to the stock OEM, in my opinion. First, you feel more room and sitting into the seat instead of on top like the stock OEM. The Corbin also moves you back almost 2 inches which gives you a better seating position on the bike.
      The only other recommendation would be to purchase a set of Helibars risers (bit.ly/3h1jsru) or if you can afford the adjustable handlebars for perfect posture (bit.ly/2QVcCJB).
      Ride safe!
      Rick

    • @danielkleiner9560
      @danielkleiner9560 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      WingStuff.com Rick, I have narrowed the choice down to the Corbin or the Ultimate. Since they both use a new pan, I don’t know why the Ultimate would justify the extra cost.
      As for the Heli Bars or Risers, I am 6’, 225 lbs., and my sleeve length is 35”. Would the bars or risers really make a difference? Is the bike essentially designed for mid-height/mid-weight riders.
      And by the way, I have been buying a lot of accessories from Wingstuff. Great prices and service!

    • @WingStuffTV
      @WingStuffTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@danielkleiner9560 Sorry for the delayed response. If you're comfortable riding without them (don't get fatigued, feel hunched over, lower back soreness) then you probably don't need them. However, if you experience one or any combination of the three I highly recommend them. Combined with the Corbin seat I've never felt this comfortable on a Gold Wing!

    Does Corbin sell replacement cover or just skin to fix older ones

    • @WingStuffTV
      @WingStuffTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Corbin offers recovers, repairs and restorations of their saddles/seats. The cost of recovering a seat can vary quite a bit and your best bet is to contact their Customer Service department directly. To give you an idea: If your saddle needs a new cover made, the cost will be approximately 75% of that seat model’s current price. This is because the greatest area of cost on a saddle (in raw materials AND labor) is in the cover and assembly. Before sending in a saddle for repair or rework, always contact them for a “TLC” number first to assure you get the quality service you deserve.Thanks for your question and ride safe!

    Rick, the new GWs are slightly higher in the seat compared to the older F6B's. With the new Corbin seat how is the height?

    • @WingStuffTV
      @WingStuffTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey John, thanks for your question! The height seems the same to me when I put my feet down (compared to the stock seat on the new GWs) Riding down the road my position naturally changes by sliding me back "into" the saddle instead of sitting on top like the stock seat. It's much more comfortable than stock.

    • @AT-ch5cg
      @AT-ch5cg 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      WingStuff.com Rick, Corbin’s website asks for the rider’s height, weight, and inseam to help ensure a more accurate fit. The order form at Wingstuff does not ask for this data. Should we assume that if this is typed into the “comments” field that it will be passed along to Corbin?

    I had this seat and was very disappointed. It pushes you back further from the handle bars and the foam is thin in the saddle and you can feel the pan. After spending $1600 I sold it for $800 and bought a Ultimate Seat and I am much happier. I would not recommend the Corbin at all.

    • @AT-ch5cg
      @AT-ch5cg 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steve,
      How many miles/hours did you spend with the Corbin before you decided to move to the Ultimate? Was your main reason for switching due to having been pushed further back from the handlebars? I understand that Corbin seats are not soft and cushy but I always envisioned them to be more like an Equestrian saddle. I have been teetering on making a decision...

    • @stevedunn4490
      @stevedunn4490 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A T hi, I rode about 4,000 miles. They gave me the song and dance about how it had to break in but it never did. It wasn’t comfortable at all and yes moving me back was also a reason to switch. This is the same problem with the stock seat that you are too far back and you have to reach for the bars which puts you in a bad position. I am 5’10 so I think that is the flaw with the new version of the wing, we are simply to far back to be comfortable.
