I cried so much during this scene. It's like you're there with Liara preserving history in a small device. I wish the ending was happier (even with the extended cut).
Exactly. There are players who complain that Liara is "forced" on the player or that she would be the writers' pet or something. But to me it seemed Liara falls in love with Shepard, no matter if he/she returns this love or not. Liara fans got lucky in ME 3, we got the best love scenes by far. While I thought the EC was overall an improvement, they didn't give us the most important piece of "closure" - still the breath scene, no reunion (but was stated there will be one), no blue babies! :(
she's the only person to love Shepard no matter what paragon or renegade he or she she was the only person to risk her life for Shepard's body with a slim chance at success
I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees this. No one loves Shepard more than Liara; I mean look what she's done for him. Brought him back to life at the risk of everything, she's always the one who comes to see him when he's feeling rough, she makes a goddamn time capsule and immortalises him, not to mention her "gift" when they say goodbye is so touching. They really deserved their little corner of the galaxy where they live in peace. Oh and little blue children :D
@@jhjh3314 i mean she is in charge of the black market of the whole galaxy...and her cold attitude is only an act...and in ME2 she is cold only if you had a relationship with someone who isn't her...and she is active mostly during a DLC and in ME3 if you remained loyal you can catch up with the relationship quite soon u.u like halfway through the prologue(on Mars) it's like breaking a relationship with your partner only because he/she had just one tough day...and you don't want to deal with that...also Liara didn't know about Project Lazarus i mean yes she saves Shepard's body in a canon-comic and give it to Miranda but without knowing a thing about Cerberus' plans
For me it was scene in medbay right after Mars, she feels Shepard so deep and understand even unstoppable force such as Shepard have their weaknesses she makes him strong at that point and even on Thessia where Shepard blames himself for failure in temple, she lay her hand on him to let him know he is not alone.
"I wish I could have joined you back on Illium." "You made up for it." What!? Does nobody remember that it was Liara who took on impossible odds and fought like a beast, doing anything for the slight chance of bringing Shepard back to life? Shepards owes Liara his life, come on, there's nothing she has to make up for.
cutewallpaper.org/21/mass-effect-3-liara-wallpaper-hd/Woman-carrying-man-digital-wallpaper-Mass-Effect-Mass-.jpg i leave this here...just to remember what Liara did soon after she discovered about Shepard's corpse was wanted by the Collectors: She Saved Shepard and gave the body to Miranda(in charge of Project Lazarus...the same project who resurrected Shepard as a synthetic being!)
@@derokdeathaxe6984 Half synthetic. Even the Catalyst states that Shepard is synthetic and organic and therefore the only living being who can make synthesis possible

It's moments like this that makes me realize Videogames are more than just pointing and shooting things. There's clear talent and taste for emotion and storytelling behind them. It's a shame the ball was dropped on the ending, but the rest of this game is absolutely perfect.
This is my second time playing ME3 since I first played it back in like 2014 when I was 14 years old. I romanced Tali in my first playthrough in ME2 and when I entered this scene and heard the music playing I got scared because I thought I made a mistake and romanced Liara lol
I've romanced each of them so far, except Miranda...which I'm working on now. But yeah, every time I see this scene it makes me want to redo it. I did romance her in my first playthrough all the way up until the end. She's just so thoughtful...
i prefer earthborn. throughout the trilogy, i start off as soldier in ME1 then become a vanguard and pretended cerberus in the beginning of ME2 implanted some element zero in shepard turning him into a biotic, and part synthetic :D.
For me it depends on if Shepard is nice or a bad ass. For nice guy Shepard i do earthborn or spacer. Then follow up with war hero or survivor. If he's an asshole renegade. Then it's colonist and ruthless. As those two pair quite nicely. Between mass effect 1 and 2 Shepard does from sentinel to Adept. The reason is this Cerberus biotic implants surpass the L3. This gives biotics a greater boost. At this point his biotics are difficult to control. So he focuses on mastering biotics. And everything else is left behind.
This game makes me regret not romancing Liara, but at the same time I'd regret not romancing Tali if I did romance Liara...so hard to decide. They are both a measure of innocence wrapped in badassery...
I hate how Liara keeps calling you a "friend", even if they both waited for each other for 2 years (and a half if you didn't play Lair of the Shadow Broker). I waited after I locked her romance to play this and it didn't change anything >:(.
I just did this and all I have to say is how I did it. I was informed I had new messages and it was a message from Liara saying to meet her. I spoke to her a couple of times until she said she had something to show me in my cabin. Then I got the invitation option.
I swear they don't do good job with music in this scene, and it's just feel empty, wouldn't provoke emotions. But the scene is another example of this game being pure art, and everything BioWare did was a hit. Adding this brilliant piece of music made it so emotional
This would have set up a fantastic universe of sequels IF the crucible Magic weapon was turned into a survival arc instead for the main races of ME and with a little luck our crew and Shepard would escape to it after failing to win..
I agree but it's just how she speaks. I thought Shepard getting annoyed with it would change that, but she keeps doing it. I don't think it was to do as you say, the developers just got lazy and didn't change the dialog in case your romanced her.
Thanks. You are right, those options dont appear in this scene, they appear when Shep and Liara are talking on the Citadel. Another reason why not to trust what IGN says :P
Interestingly enough, I never got an email from Liara about this meeting at any point, ergo, no option to invite to cabin. Is it one of those bugged convos where I need Ashley on the team?
Just a question, i read somewhere that you could get the option of being more than just friends, in this scene. But i just have this same scene and i am romancing Liara since ME1, i think there are no other options beside the ones showed in this scene right?
It's one of he greatest scene in gaming history, but the line "I am an archalogist, I know what I am doing" is crap. Archaelogists don't built things, they uncover them.
She was the nicest, smartest, and most interesting girl in Mass Effect 3. I'm glad I romanced her.
Jack was pretty cool. But unfortunately she didn't play too big a role in ME3
Miranda isn't too bad. However much like Jack she isn't in me3 much.
Tali all the way
Same
Zero regret
"Well, I suppose I did just write your name in the stars." Loved that one.
This gets on a whole new level of emotional if you get the refusal ending.

Yeah I still think it’s the saddest ending I’ve encountered in fiction. I still think about it 7 years later..

Liara isn’t just my lover.
She’s always been my partner! 🙏❤️
11 years yet spitting facts now in the present
This was the scene that made me realize she is the best romance.
She was a perfect LI until ME2 when she took on this cold and distant personality, then I had to switch to Ashley which I don’t regret at all.

How strange! All I can say is that it’s not Ashley related bug; I got it with Kaidan without any problems.

I wonder what she says if you're a Sentinel.

"Are you calling me a Red Mage?!"
